I wonder if Batman's going to have any role in the show. It could be like the TT animated series where was briefly acknowledged but never shown physically.
Well, I think we'll start with Dick as an already experienced and capable vigilante and only make vague allusions to who trained him to be that way.
If no-nonsense is the direction they're going with Kory, it might explain why they cast Raven as a teenager. Basically it would be a personality swap with Kory being the mature one while Raven is the more playful one.
In which case I would have to ask if the writer had suffered somekind of serious head-injury at some point? Thats like making Batman the funny one compared to the Joker.

Depends on which Batman we're talking about:p

On a more serious note, if that is the direction they're going with Kory it could work but would depend heavily on execution. Kory's no nonsense nature could be a result of her experiences as a slave while Raven's more playful nature could be a result of her wanting to act like a normal kid because she needs to feel like one.
They may not even be going there of course. But if they are, it will be very delicate ground to tread and the premise could fall apart the second something goes wrong. But hey, if Young Justice could make Johns' re imagining of Connor Kent work, maybe this has a shot too if they go there.

Which will still be getting the characters personalities completely wrong. Kori is supposed to be the free-spirited one you can't tell has been through hell, while Raven is destined for hell and she knows it and shows it.
That wasn't very difficult since Johns Superboy worked on page as long as you weren't a die-hard fan of Young Justice. The closest thing we've had Kori and Raven in switched personalities is Kori's godawful New 52 RHAO depiction and when Raven's gone insane and joined the dark side.
John Crossland: Male, late 20s-early 30s, Caucasian. Equal parts charm and impenetrability, John is a cop. He has a nice smile, tired eyes and a cool, distant manner. However, when provoked, his eyes are so lethal “they drain a man of every last bit of spleen.” John is haunted by the murder of his family. Unbeknownst to those around him, he is also a vigilante. In the shadows, he fights with the commitment and conviction of an artist, the brutal grace of a dancer. Mentally and physically, he is covered in a map of scars. And though he fights to escape his past, it is often a losing battle…SERIES LEAD

Sarah: Female, Mid teens, Open Ethnicity. Troubled, bullied, often scared but unwilling to show it, Sarah is a loner more comfortable hiding in her hoodie than making friends. Haunted by a dark force inside her, Sarah experiences violent episodes that she cannot understand or control. She is also plagued by recurring nightmares that lead her across the country in search of help…SERIES REGULAR

Casey: Female, 20s, Open ethnicity. Casey is a tall, stunning woman, her beauty so magnificent it’s almost inhuman. Elegant, refined and mysterious, she is on the hunt to discover who is trying to kill her and why. And those after her are in for a surprise because she’s more deadly than anyone they’ve ever encountered…SERIES REGULAR

Jax: Male, Mid-late teens, Open Ethnicity, Asian preferred. Funny and charming, this amateur thief’s humor hides his insecurities and past pain. Not the toughest kid on the streets, he’s learned to survive in the world with his wit and quick-thinking…SERIES REGULAR
These are the casting calls for Titans, and I think that there are a few things that we can take away from this. First - the only character that they didn't do colorblind casting with is Dick, which is typical, because having leads of color seems to be a rarity... at least when said leads of color were, in their source material, white characters. That's fine. So clearly, what happened was that the actresses for Raven and Starfire just simply fit the best.
"Sarah" AKA Raven isn't going to be this fun loving kid that resembles Starfire from the Teen Titans cartoon, she's going to be more like the Raven that we've been seeing in the DCAU lately. And that's perfect.
"Jax" AKA Beast Boy will probably end up entirely divorced from the Doom Patrol, or at least mostly. It seems to me like he's an orphan and uses his humor to cope, had to learn how to be a thief, stuff like that. I'm interested.
And lastly, the one that started all of this discussion - "Casey," AKA Koriand'r, AKA Starfire. It looks like they are absolutely relying on New Teen Titans for their interpretation but that's just as a starting off point more than anything. If, say, the first episode is Kori arriving on the planet then this makes perfect sense. They're starting her at zero and building her up. She'll basically grow into who she is in the current Teen Titans, maybe with a few Teen Titans animated series eccentricities sprinkled in.

Dick would really turned out to be a 30 year old. lol My man.
Where are those breakdowns coming from by the way?

Ah so they originate from That Hashtag show. Of course. I had never heard of these guys until recently but apparently they are a credible source, since they broke down a few big castings like that already.

Why is Beast Boy 'asian preferred' if he is literally a blonde kid under the green skin? I don't mind tbh but is it there a reason for that?

Race or genderbending is normal enough for comic book tv.

(then again, I do live in a country where more than 80% of the inhabitants are white
If you talking about america then Whites in america are less then 80% of the population.
Sunspot and Cecelia Reyes are half-African or have visible African heritage. The actors cast for them are white or white with native South American heritage. That's not the same ethnicity.
I thought Cecelia Reyes had two black parents who are latino.
That would mean she is not half black or half african but sunspot is.

Just finished TT #11- It was fine but who were the people at the end> and it said #13 was the return of Kid Flash not Emi. Mistake, change or are both those arcs blended together.
