I remembered that, and wanted more.

Yeah, after spending time in NY, T'Challa fell in love with pizza and brought it to Wakanda. He even got a pizza man from the states to come and stay in Wakanda to make them. I wish writers after used this little tidbit.

the quotes under them are freaking hilarious

Here's a question I have been pondering. BP was Marvel's first African Superhero... Who is considered Marvel's first African-American hero? Prowler? Luke?

I think Luke was the first AA...
I think the Lion of the Wakandas has more fans than just black guys, a point that Marvel fails to realize.

Falcon is generally recognized as the first specifically African-American superhero. Luke was probably the first black superhero with a solo series to have his name in the title (T'Challa's first series was called Jungle Action).

See... I'm with you. I got introduced to BP in Avengers. I haven't read a lot of the Byrne Jungle Action stuff, to my dismay.

He took over in Jungle Action issue 5 (which I own). I've managed to find most of the issue in decent shape cheap. Black Panther's solo run with his name on it came in 1977 after Jungle Action ended.
So it was him, Cage & a case can be made for Falcon leading (costarring) in titles.
80s wise it was BP with the solo title run (if you don't count Rhodey, Falcon & even Battlestar (although not listed on the book's title).
90s BP had a mini followed by Deathlok, Rhodey (twice), Cage, Night Thrasher, Blade & Nightwatch and BP got another run via Priest.
2000s-Priest's run, Blade, War Machine, Falcon (costarring) and Hudlin's run.
Interesting fact BP is probably the only POC that has had a solo run in 4 straight decades and a lot of nonPOC can't say that.
Lol, I dunno why but I always find it funny how much people dislike talky comic books that don't always resort to fights and battles. Most of my favorite books are talkies and seeing superhero cast who are usually fighting going through debates and talking, etc. But of course it depends on how well written they are. I guess this is what happens when I read too much Vertigo type books.
yea i agree thing is without prior dialog fights are meaningless a good fight need good build up and reasons why the people are fighting. Good fights can even have dialog going on while the people are fighting. I find comics that are just endless fighting and displays of feats with little taking extremely boring. Jungle Action which is the classic Black Panther series had lots of talking and thinking and was great because off it.

To much to post all the scans. The gist is matts mom sister Maggie and several other nuns vandalized a army base. Turned out to be Recently taken over covertly by Wakanda. For some reason they are making a big deal about it and extraditing matts mom.
Not getting any answers from USA institutions dd sneaks into the wakandan embassy

Through all the clutter he finds a office with a us military officer conspiring with a Wakanda buerocrat. Of course the wakandan officials where prepared, they had some sonar bs ready to overwhelm dd.
Beware when the us & wakandan military complexes conspire. Military attaché on the door is awesome. Some JFK conspirator setting
Then this.
Kevin Feige spoke with IGN about the possibility of a Black Panther or Captain Marvel-centric film, noting that he would "absolutely" love to bring the characters to film.
"They're both characters that we like, that development work is continuing to be done on," Feige told IGN. "And certainly, it's a question I get asked more than anything else. More than 'Iron Man 4,' more than 'Avengers 3,' and that's sort of the first time that's really happened to us, so I think that makes a difference. I think that's something that we have to pay attention to. … I've always said we have our plan, and it's served us very well. There hasn't been anything that's made us deviate or change from that based on an opinion, because opinions online change. They alter and they're based on limited information they have to what's going on behind the scenes. But in this particular case, I think it is a groundswell, and I think it means something substantial."
Translation: All the other times I've said we're working on it I was jus' bulls###in', but now someone is seeing dollar signs where they didn't before. So basically we don't want to see another studio beat us to that sweet, sweet minority cash.

It really is a nice blend of his cowl into a classic cap with a hint of MCU cap. Curious to see what they do with the wings. And how Sam being in a leadership role is reflected by other characters.
This fiege stuff is interesting. They have to be influenced by fan feedback. But they are so damn independent the fact that he acknowledge the demand without really doing anything other then say it's flattering is eyebrow raising
My current pitches. Tie capt marvels origins to the kree and the gotg franchise. Cut out mar-vel
undercover nick fury on the run seeks out Wakanda as a ally against the evil forces of the world a isolationist Wakanda would have no sympathy for. No matter how I frame a black panther movie in my head. It always come back to Samuel Jackson with a huge smile unveiling his guy so to speak. I don't know how you don't you the resource of Sam Jackson to pump the brand.
