I'd like to see a Black Panther/Magneto story but only if Magneto is an unapologetic villain in the story. I have personal issues with Mags being some sort of anti-hero.

Yup just from a purely business prospective, the Ultimates featuring BP, Strange, Carol, Black Bolt is a no brainer. Each of them is the "ultimate _____" in their field and expertise. It's pretty much setting the ground works for your own separate MCU superteam that could team up, go-toe-to-toe or simply stand on their own with the OG MCU Avengers lineup.
I'd have kept those 4 as the "core" lineup and then for diversity reasons I still would've incorporated Photon/Spectrum and AMC. Maybe even Blue Marvel still, if he promises to throw more punches than paragraphs. You take that team and give them some actual villains (Thanos and Black Order, Annihulus, Kang, etc) worth punching plus treat them more like a flagship book (ala ANAD and Uncanny) rather than a satelite... and that would be gold
Personally love it, The guy knowledgeable on Magic, The undisputed genius and tactician and strategist, The Gal who handles Alien foreign affairs/all things space and a excellent pilot, Black Bolt is king of several inhuman territories all over the planet another cosmic badass alongside Carol.
I would of personally used Hulk because even though he is in the MCU for along time now I feel like soon he'll start receiving his own solo movies again, when you think strength, ultimately you think Hulk. I'd be fine with Cho either though. Reptil was because he's been represented in media, he's young and Latino which I felt could use more representation. Monica brings in another female and black person and overall I just enjoy the character and hope she's used.
I think I prefer Voodoo for Black Panther's magical buddy because as a C-Lister he's much more likely to be integrated into T'Challa's mythology and kept there as a running feature rather than partnerships with Strange.
I feel like Voodoo despite being his own character still falls under Stephen's mythos reason why Voodoo appears in arcs featuring Stephen and things like making him Stephen's successor. I'd rate it similar to Kasper in that regard.
Meh movies don't need comics persay. But yeah I agree BP, DS and CM being a variation on Cap, IM and Thor.
I'm definitely hoping Marvel is thinking the same thing, like someone is at the studio saying "Hey Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel are all making strong MCU debuts this phase we should try to push them together and see how that goes" *In comes the 3 headlining the Ultimates* It just makes so much sense to me and I'm glad others are seeing it

I just wouldn't really think of including Spidey cause he's not a master of a craft. Wouldn't mind if he was in though.

Voodoo be like "PLEASE LET ME IN THE MOVIE VERSE BEFORE AGENTS OF SHIELD USE ME. PLEASE GOD PLEASE!!"
I think the reason Strange isn't on a team like the Ultimates is that right now, he is pretty much depowered lol.
I still think Real Thor should have been on this team. 100% swing and miss IMO
Am I forced to like Carol? Do I have to?
Can't T'challa just be like, "alright, I only have Carol around for Alpha Flight but F that... it is time for EBONY FLIGHT. Cya the next cross over Carol"
and just make his own space station crew? What is that dude who was all about Shuri up to in Klaws of the Panther? Flick or something? What is he doing? Flick and Taku can run the space station.
Ultimates...
T'challa
Strange with back up Voodoo
Black Bolt with Lockjaw to teleport
Monica
5th spot is up for grabs though.
- real Thor for sales (giant axe always increases sales)
- MAC for those YA lovers (que tumblr pics of MAC riding Lockjaw)
- Cholk if we need some Asian representation, another genius who talks too much, and well... muscle
Wild card addition....
Loki
Personal preference and all gives you no reason not to have to like Carol, I have nothing against her but the event that's going on right now. Just given media wise I think it would be wise to have her as a part of the team, she's about to appear heavily in the MCU.
I also don't see anything wrong with Panther starting his own Alpha Flight. Just when it comes to piloting in the Marvel Universe I hinkle of Carol it doesn't mean Noone else can delve into those areas. T'Challa has a mythology that isn't necessarily magical but delves into the mystical and I still want to include Strange because when it comes to magic he's the go to guy in the Marvel Universe.
Speaking of Loki... interactions I need more in my life...
- T'challa and Loki. God of tricks vs best poker face. I need Priest to write this though.
- T'challa and Thor. They have too much in common to never interact. Two members of royalty who always leave their home for the greater good of Earth. Both have daddy issues, especially with ghost T'chaka being a dick. How much mead can t'challa drink? Is he Legolas to Thor's Gimli?
-T'challa vs Sabertooth: FIGHT
- T'challa and Magneto: team up story time
Definitely would enjoy all this to, T'Challa is the type of guy who beats Gods who decide to underestimate because he's human. I like stories where he plays as if he's 5 steps ahead of whoever he faces that's hay makes him unique
One of the coolest post I've seen that I had to screenshot was

I'd just revisit the 70's Defenders, (Hulk, Namor, Doc Strange, Silver Surfer) only I'd add T'Challa and Spider Man.
It has all of the "we don't exact like each other, we have to work together" vibe that the Defenders and The Illuminati both had.
I'd probably swap out Namora for Namor and maybe MAC for Silver Surfer tho (I REALLY hate MAC) just so it wouldn't be the sausage-fest the classic Defenders was.

You could use Valkryie for Namor, since she is MCU certified now.
Cholk, Valkryie, Strange, T'challa, Spectrum
would work and somewhat similiar powerlevels.
I understand wanting to use Hulk and Thor, and frankly Thor is a better Superman pairing for BP than Carol is (royalty commonalities + Thor's bro-ski personality -similar to Luke Cage's- balances out BP's more reserved demeanor), but I feel Thor-Hulk, IM-Cap, they're already cemented as each other's BFF (best frenemies for life) and will always have that OG MCU Avengers connection. Everyone after them will just be seen as Dream Teams II and III. It's why i really would've wanted a BP/Strange/Black Bolt thing (with whichever other new mcu characters), basically something where BP was the founding member of his own thing, whether it be the Ultimates or Illuminati. He's going to be part of Dream Team III/3rd generation Avengers come Infinity War but i'd like for him to be a part of something actually unique.
Hence why i thought BP/DS/CM could be the next big 3, even if only 2 of the 3 really interest me.

Well only minus the Hulk thing I don't think him being on the team would gap the generation thing. He's been on the Defenders just the same as Avengers. Marvel for the longest time have been pushing Stark, Cap, and Thor at he Avengers forefront though if there are 4 Hulk would be undisputedly the 4th. But even then the Avengers trio are all at their Trilogy while Hulk hasn't had follow up movies that connect to each other just has been jumping around.
My inclusion of Hulk is just that I see him as Marvel's Ultimate powerhouse the guy has unlimited Strength.
Regardless I'd still put T'Challa, Strange, and Carol at the front of whatever startup team and have them being the founders along with characters like Black Bolt, and the rest of the dream team so they could be their own "Gen 1"

Defenders are way to established for me to want that. Especially now that their getting a Netflix series, if Marvel did anything with the name brand if expect it to match the Netflix show.

I dislike both CM and DS.. I prefer BP, Ms.Marvel (she actually sales and without shity stories being made to make it happen) & B.Bolt ( with a solid Vin D and movie push will sale aswell)..

Hahah yea it's crazy coincidence. You should post more often here :p
I see what you're saying with Hulk, it could even be a subplot where he's always been that outcast/monster on the Avengers but now finally finds himself on a team where he feels he belongs/his teammates aren't scared of him. But yea, BP/DS/CM as the big 3 to the Cap/IM/Thor... and Hulk being the sorta link that has history with both teams.
Sadly that's a pipe dream as they're really pushing the BP Carol dolo stuff in the comics and season 2 of Ultimates. Even in the cartoons it's going to be BP/Carol with Ant-Man, Vision, Wasp and Kamala as their new lineup. I imagine they're going to have those two clash over leadership/direction as well, esp given how Carol was portrayed in her debut ep. Plus, no Strange, no Thor, no Hulk, no Black Bolt.
I saw lots of kids in BP costumes last night. It was really cool.

Sorry I wasn't clear.
I didn't mean keep the name. I meant that the Ultimates should be what the 70's Defenders was (a team of peeps who almost have to
be forced to work together) with those membership tweaks.
I'm not sure what Marvel is gonna do with the Defenders name, tbh.
If Matt Fraction couldn't get the Defenders to sell, I don't know who can.
Maybe Ewing will finally get to do that street-level Defenders book he foreshadowed way back in his Mighty Avengers run :p?
By this time next year I actually expect Bendis and some fancy artist to announce an upcoming Defenders book with Matt, Cage, Danny, Jessica, + Punisher, Misty, & Elektra in the mix.
I'm actually kinda surprised they didn't do that this fall. That plus they're usual billion variant covers to supplement it, and that's an easy 120k-150k+ first issue sales. Would probably settle into being their highest selling team book once the dust settles.

Sometimes I don't think Marvel comics and marvel... marketing? are on the same page.
They pretty much have to launch a Defenders book ASAP to have a trade on the shelves by the time it is out. They already started filiming
and as logn as the book is Street level, I'll take bendis

Yea it's weird. I'm no marketing major but you would think a Defenders book featuring characters who already have strong history with each other, each have their own netflix show in a shared universe, and are about to have an Avengers-style blockbuster collabo that'll probably crash netflix again lol... would be like.. common sense. lol
Carol's persona right now is a cocky, militaristic leader type.
She's always been militaristic. She admires Cap and looks up to him. She sort of sees things through his eyes. Not always, but usually.

That sounds depressing, I'm hoping despite the fact they still push these movie guys as a team. The Inhumans have been getting a push on the small screen and the Royal Family in several cartoons as of this year so I'm hoping will see more Black Bolt. Strange seems to be blowing up right now, and Hulk has a really good following.
Nah Defenders I think is owned by the Netflix MCU.
I am not saying I want BP, CM and DS as the new trinity. I am just saying they are the most likely Trio based on what we have now for the MCU. Ant-man is not leading crap. GOTG are mostly in space and who is putting Star Lord in charge. Spidey is a kid who just got started he is not running anything. Now if we ever get to Miles in the MCU well then yeah Peter probably slots in in the Third Trinity. INhumans are on ice. Who is left? Among newer entries. Falcon or Bucky doubtful. Vision well lets just see if he lives....Wanda powerful but not trained. Maybe in the Third Trinity with Peter.
You think its possible we could get Namor in a BP Sequel. From what I understand his rights are similar to the Hulk.
Now if you want something in comics that is totally different.

Depends on what the plans are for the old guard.
All the talk of RDJ/Evans/Hemsworth moving on from Marvel has really died out the last year or so. Right after Feige bypassed Ike, we haven't really heard a peep of Evans wanting to direct more or RDJ moving on and such.
So... are they hanging around? Are they getting killed off?
And honestly, I should throw ScarJo in their, considering she gets paid more than all of them but RDJ.
So what if the new Trinity is DS/BP/Widow? Give her her own movie finally. Or does Widow go into the Buggy Quartet (Spider-Man, Widow, Wasp, Ant-man... OMG A NEW BOOK! lol)
Or BP/Bucky/DS? Lots of combos possible, limiting it to Trinity may be ill advised.
I'd say the new trinity is absolutely going to have a female involved. And for better or worse, hell or high water, it's going to be Carol lol. She the strongest there is, apparently. Now a new big 3 doesn't mean Bucky, Valykrie, Widow, Falcon and all the other ancillary characters from the previous big 3 couldn't get promotions.
But Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel are the current slate. Between those 4 likely getting trilogies, and then the Avengers/event films, it'll come down to how many movie properties they'd want to juggle vs just redistributing all the aforementioned ancillary folks within the aforementioned solo franchises...
... or going with the GotG formula and creating smaller "team" movies to group these side characters together.

I wouldn't be surprised if we started getting more smaller, "team up" movies.
Bucky + Widow writes itself doesn't it?
I would love a Secret Avengers style movie.........

Out of the old guard, if you are Chris Hemsworth, where are you gonna go? If it wasn't for the Thor movies
he'd probably be somewhere between James Marsden and Taylor Kitsch career wise.
Tho his outside Thor stuff seems to be doing OK.
I imagine RDJ is gonna ride this 'til the wheels fall off. If not full films, he's gonna be doing extended cameos
(like I figure Spider Man: Homecoming is gonna be) until they tell him to stop.
Evans could go either way. Doing Cap makes him enough so he can do all the indy stuff he wants
and not take a hit moneywise.
The only person I can see really leaving is ScarJo. She is already at the point where she needs
Marvel Studios the least of any of that bunch.
If the Ghost In the Shell movie does well, she won't need Marvel at all.

Absolutely. In fact I'd take it a step further and say the ending of CA:CW pretty much foreshadowed Secret Avengers, i.e. Cap's black-ops team.
Basically you can keep Evans on pay roll but put him on that Undertaker schedule where he just comes out for Wrestlemania (Infinity Wars) and the occasional light PPVs (Secret Avengers) in which he can take a backseat to Natasha, Bucky, Sam, and Clint. Maybe even throw Scott and Wanda in the mix if they want to get fancy on the budget.

Spidey is rumored not to be appearing in Infinity War. On top of that even though Marvel can make a deal for Spidey he's still technically owned by Sony. So I think he's an easy not going to be the big 3.
He probably won't appear in IW 1. He seems like more of a "call the calvary!" hero moreso than an active Avenger.
He is simply too young in this movie verse.

A few highlights:
-Coates planned on using the original Crew, but then found out that Josiah Bradley was unavailable (complicated reasons, apparently) and that Rhodey was going to be killed. Thus, he went a different direction.
-Bast was supposed to appear in issue #13 (season 2), but that might not happen. Coates didn't mention Bast not showing up at all in season 2, so anything is possible.
-The previous Panthers are set to appear in season 2, possibly as early as issue #13.
-Narratively, Coogler and the MCU will probably be influenced by a lot of Priest and some Hudlin.
-Visually, Coogler and the MCU will be probably influenced a lot by Stelfreeze.
-Coates talks to Coogler often, as they are friends. However, Coates isn't involved in the making of the film.

This is what I'm a bit worried about. The use of some of the technology looks visually good with Stelfreeze's art, but the the nation of Wakanda so far doesn't look too appealing to me in terms of showing their technological suprerioty towards other countries and I feel like Wakanda needs to feel like a living country i.e, How is the medical system in Wakanda, Museums, What kind of cars/transportation do they have if they are so advanced, Whole school system, Wakandan Entertainment etc.
Maybe I'm asking for too much but we will see lol

Your issues have more to do with Coates, not Stelfreeze. Stelfreeze mostly reflects what Coates wants, hence we're seeing what we're seeing.
Where Stelfreeze has truly shown his worth is when Coates--deliberately or not--stays out of his way. Stelfreeze's design of the Golden City, for example? Majestic. A lot of the cool tech stuff we see in the Coates run? That's Stelfreeze. The BP mask opening and closing was from the Hickman run, but Stelfreeze gave it an additional touch. Even the Djalia visuals in #2 and #3, that's Stelfreeze (and Sprouse's Djalia pages are inspired by it as well). Can't forget the outfits too. And so on.
Now, imagine Stelfreeze being creatively directed by Priest/Hudlin-inspired scripts. That's what we may get in movie format for the film.

^^^^ Exactly.
And so on.
Now, imagine Stelfreeze being creatively directed by Priest/Hudlin-inspired scripts. That's what we may get in movie format for the film.
I hope what you have stated is what we get from the movie that will be released in the future. However, from a visual standpoint, I hope they do not rely too much on Stelfreeze's artistic imagery. I hope Coogler is able to extend his visual imagination with Stefreeze as a foundation. I believe Hickman too (Despite the mixed reception) should be looked at to get some sort of inspiration in terms of technological design because honestly, I don't want to see the force push used through out the movie because that stuff will get redundant quickly and would benefit greatly from having a diverse range of visual design.
To summarise everything, I hope they stick with an array of visual design from anything that featured Wakanda and Black Panther and not just stick with one
With the combination of these ones

I'm sure they'll look at other visuals from other runs and pick out the good stuff.
However, just like they are leaning mostly on Priest (with a dose of Hudlin), it appears they'll lean mostly on Stelfreeze (with a dose of everything else).

Without a balance of practical locations, the CGI will look flat and fake.
Think about how Asgard looks in the Thor movies (or even Courscant in the Star Wars prequels) and compare that to the future LA we saw in Blade Runner
which they used actual locations and backlots to make.
You don't see Marvel films do too much practical (real world) set ups for things like this but Coogler may be different.
I don't remember where they are gonna be filming most of this.
That would tell us a decent bit actually.
