I boarded the Johnny Storm x Crystal train some time ago, so nope ^_^
So it is still T'Challa and Monica Lynne all da way!!
Now that Storm and T'Challa are over, I suspect Marvel will bring back Monica at some point. It's probably who they're going to use in the movie. She's his Jane Foster or whatever.

It would be a miracle for them[Marvel] to even acknowledged her in canon.
Since they don't seem to be using comicbook writers for the scripts, it would take someone who knows Monica to vouch for her to be in the movie. /speculation

Not really, no. They don't use comic book writers for the scripts but obviously some research is involved in making them happen.
Hissssssssssss… lol Kidding.
But seriously, i'm not THAT fond of Monica because of the whole blaring "LOOK AT HOW BLACK T'CHALLA IS IN OUR CULTURE THAT HE'S DATING A JAZZ SINGER CHICK." But, that's just me. Although she's WAY better than the relationship with Storm. T'challa and Crystal would be something fresh to me story wise. Maybe I just want to see more interracial relationships in comics.
I'd like to see more endogenous relationships among characters of color in comics/DC/Marvel. I'm not offended by interracial, but with certain writers it's a ham-handed effort to prove that the characters in question (especially the black one, if it's a black/white pairing) is not 'racist' or particularly "pro-black" in any form. The super-animosity that the T'Challa/Ororo pairing inspired was deeply offensive to me. The barely-veiled insinuation was that Ororo would never dare sully her body/'goddess' status by being intimate with a black man, mutant or not. I still find the Storm/Logan fling infuriating. I'm glad I wasn't even buying comics anymore by the time that was explored.

Honestly I think more than anything they'll just use the name Monica Lynn.
Sort of like how the movie Jane Foster isn't a whole lot like the comic book version, I think they'll give T'Challa a movie love interest and just call that Monica. She could be anything from a SHIELD agent to a government liason to a fry cook at Wendys.

Well, make the restaurant Wandy's, make her father the restaurant's owner, and give her a vapid boyfriend with a jheri curl, and you have a meta nod to Coming to America...

But wouldn't Marvel feel like it's too much of a "black movie" and lose their audience. Still, I wouldn't mind Marvel going outside the box. Still think Panther and Crystal would be the fizz. But, I'm ok with Monica.

Nothing against the idea of Crystal and T'Challa being a couple in theory. Given that they're both royalty I suppose there are quite a few fun Game of Thones things they could do with that.
But Crystal to me is becoming the town bike of the Marvel universe. Everyone is getting a turn to ride her. She's dated Human Torch, married Quicksilver and Ronan, and had flings with Black Knight and even Sentry. I'm not sure how many more people they wanna add to that list.

Well yeah, the basics that is the origin of the character not the deep rooted stuff.

xD except Jane Foster is Thor- so even if is is sideline in some stories, she is still a major supporting character.
lol I like the Shield agent idea but her being a singer seems more interesting; something seemingly mundane but humble. However, if being a singer was her 'cover' for being an agent... that could work.
Maybe a bit too elaborate though.

SHE BANGED SENTRY!? S^%! Guess Rogue wasn't the only one. By Movie standards, Crystal has NO lover yet and we don't know If she's in Attilan or outside of it. PIETRO's DEAD, RONAN's DEAD, Johnny's at Fox, so that makes it easier for the two to be together. Also Crystal ain't THAT much of a bicycle. T'challa wouldn't care either way.

I really doubt that's gonna happen.

I second that.....

So this isn't an issue of T'challa being with someone outside his race. I think he can take whoever he wants, right. He's a king, dammit! lol.

More black hetero love.
Yeah. I'm in the same boat.
I'm cool with interracial, but I can't think of one Black couple in marvel comics.
I was thinking that since Candace is dead now Adam and Monica could get it in.
but on topic, I think if they made her a jazz agent that would be SUPER cool.
But I also dig the Crystal idea.
Maybe she's been waiting to go black lol
