Shuri's a Reg-created continuity implant.
If they never mentioned her again, the purists would probably be overjoyed.
And what is exactly is a "purist" anyway?
As it is, maybe they'll introduce her in a later arc. There is no real point to bringing her up in a story whose
purpose is to reimagine T'Challa for ANAD.
The previous events, especially AvX and the Hickman run, appear to be very relevant to this story arc and might shape the future of Wakanda along the way. Shuri was especially involved in the Hickman run in particular. Why not involve her somehow in a story arc in which some of her decisions might have been a factor?
It's not like she was remotely popular with even Panther fans.
Kaper Cole is probably more well liked among the Panther fanbase than Shuri.
At the bold: you could make that argument back then, but a lot has changed, including Shuri's progression as a character. She's much more liked than before.
At this point, I'd argue she's currently the second most popular character in the BP mythos outside of T'Challa.
And Kasper Cole being more liked that Shuri by fans is based on what?
Sidenote: I have no problems whatsoever with Kasper Cole as a character.
-
Dont know whats up with all the Shuri hate, She is s good supporting character an she has come a long way since she was first introduced. I think she has developed into a well rounded character and there is still a role for her to play in the mythos (an important role since BP supporting characters are constantly put into Limbo) It would be foolish to take her out of the mythos. Especially since Coates is forming continuity, and with his earlier comment about adding in some strong females into the story. Using Shuri is almost a given (hopefully Aneka QDJ and Sofia get some use as well. Those are some great characters that should be further explored or atleast appear in a few panels every so often.)
If Shuri ins't in the story then ther better be a really good reason for it and it better not be because she is dead or in a coma because that is just stupid and lazy

Does anyone have that panel of T'challa slapping Killmonger's henchmen and it says how fast his slaps is?

I love this. I cannot wait for this movie!
Bow to the King!

So good to be a BP fan right now it's a little overwhelming. I feel it's only going to get better.

Dear lord... T'Challa is so badass it's not even funny. Can't wait for this ( I guess he'll steal the show) and for his solo movie!

[spoil] Maybe the rumours are true and Bucky is indeed responsible for T'Chaka's death? Maybe he and T'Challa visit the US, kinda like in the first issues of the Hudlin run (that was just T'Chaka, but you get the point), and he bites it? I don't know though, while this gives him motive, it doesn't make sense form a universe-building standpoint. Maybe he's not crying but is just shocked/has dust on his eyes? I think that's more likely.[/spoil]

There would be no point in Bucky killing T'Chaka, so probably not. There is a chance someone (probably Zemo) could frame Bucky for the act, though.

so glad i picked up a audi q7 last year so i can pretend panther jumped off my car
There would be no point in Bucky killing T'Chaka, so probably not. There is a chance someone (probably Zemo) could frame Bucky for the act, though.
Well, some are speculating that "Sputnik" will be brought into play. In the comics it was a single-use trigger word that could render him unconscious. In the MCU it could be used to have him execute a certain order. I mean, there's got to be a reason T'Challa's got such a hard-on for catching Bucky.
-
I mean, there's got to be a reason T'Challa's got such a hard-on for catching Bucky.
Like someone framing him for a crime he didn't commit.
The second Bucky actually murders someone, the entire debate is over because there's no way Captain America could reasonably defend his actions anymore.
-

Well, "mind-control" could be considered "framing". I'm not talking about him killing someone intentionally, but the Sputnik theory is possible.
-

Yeah, if that explosion causes T'chaka's death, then at best Bucky is being framed. They can't continue making him murderer and have peopel handwave it.
Plus, nothign would change T'challa's mind. There would be no "you don't know what he is thinking." If Buck offs T'chaka, he will just see red. There would be no grey.

I really wonder if Tchalla gets kinda pissed that they are shooting at both of them

Poor Bucky just can't catch a break. Used, abused, forced to live as a fugitive hobo, manhandled by T'Challa, hunted by Tony. Guy's got it rough.

I know T'challa is his own deal, but on the books, based on merchandise, Team Stark is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Team Cap. Those dudes are lucky they have Vision.

And Kasper Cole and White Wolf were both Christopher J Priest continuity implants so I fail to see the relevance of whatever point you're attempting to make.
I suppose you've held a poll to establish her popularity amongst so called BP "purists". LOL!

Agreed. Cap's team is made up mostly of street fighters, while Stark's is made up of some really heavy hitters PLUS Black Panther.
