What's funny is it wasn't that long ago that a bunch of us where saying the recent issues weren't focusing much on T'Challa and that we were ok with that because it's a team book and we understood other characters needed the spotlight.
The main complaints i saw in here was about pace and focusing too much on other universes...but whatever it is what it is.
I just hope we actually get to SEE the fight against the Justice Society.
I haven't bought New Avengers since issue #9 but if Hickman has Black Panther kill Namor I'll buy up the back issues and jump right back in!
Do it Hickman... DO IT!!!
I would be totally shocked if Namor is indeed killed. That being said I love the fact Hickman is showing how similar both characters have become. One note..a Namor fan said T'challa is learning what Namor has known for years, Well yeah T'challa is a young King he isn't as old as Namor.
Moral quandary.
Marvel books I'm getting : New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Young Avengers, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight

Gotta wait till friday to get my books. OOOOoooo the anticipation!! lol

Well T'challa is supposed to find out that Thanos' lap dog sold out the Illuminati soon. Hopefully he listens to T'chaka and blows him out of existence before the end of the year.

It won't go down like that.
Namor will beat T'Challa and have plea for peace Doomwar style.

Sigh. Priest would have had him 86 Namor after that first fight with Terrax when Namor did absolutely nothing.

One other thing that is festering in my mind...
How does the Reed/T'challa relationship going ot play out? There HAS to be a reason Hickman mentioned that Reed and T'challa were linked back in F4. HAS to be a reason. He knew what he was doing way back then obviously.
But I have no clue what that could actually mean in actuality.
I can't wait for the GS/Illuminati fight. I hope it further establishes that T'challa is super human now.
well we got the name of at least one....

Haven't read the full issues yet, but got a break down of it. Seems people are getting a little bent out of shape over some of the Avengers issues today. I'm not sure why.
Wakanda has generally followed Lifeboat Ethics in reference to themselves vs the outside world. And historically speaking their practices aren't irregular compared to other governments/empires.
Marvel's kind of pushed the envelope a little bit from what Wakanda use to be back when Stan and Jack created it. Heck or even from Priest's run. Still a little skeptical of where Marvel is taking T'Challa the past 6 years or so they've been really breaking him down.
Put me in T'Chaka's camp T'Challa should have at least tried to kill Namor. There's always some reality ending, earth ending catastrophe that will be dealt with. T'Challa should kill Namor or die trying after that AvX slaughter, regardless of the circumstances they should not be working together. I stand by that till Marvel pulls a New 52 reboot.
Also I still want this BP back
Anyway...
It seems like Shuri fits in more with the old kings than does current T'challa.
Thank you for saying that, because its the damn ugly truth.
-
Seems like the advice T'Challa received just brought him back to the beginning of all this instead of offering something new. It's funny how over in Avengers #29 they make this even more obvious by recapping Captain America's last conversation with the Illuminati.

Fast forward several incursions and either T'Challa forgot he said that or this whole thing is changing his values. Otherwise I don't see why he had to call that meeting. Seems like the past Panthers didn't either since their response was basically [spoil]Of course you better kill that whole bootleg Justice League if Wakanda's in danger. And why is the fish still breathing?!"[/spoil]
Tchalla has had to walk a very fine tight rope for awhile. Just because he knows the truth of his responsibilities doesnt mean that he fully accepts it. If the world dies than Wakanda goes with it, so he isnt always in conflict with the truth of his role.

T'challa doesn't try to be like the old kings though. Not even like his father.

More fool him.
T'challa doesn't try to be like the old kings though. Not even like his father.
That has been clear since his many trips out of Wakanda before he became king and when he cut back on the extreme isolationist when he got the crown( heavy is the head that wears it and all that )
