Bast is like Crom.
I actually considered mentioning that, but I wasn't sure how many of you would get the reference. :D
Crom and Bast; I can see that comparison.
Just finished reading Hudlin's 3rd TPB. It was great overall, and I am in love with the last story /Flags/. Seeing T'Challa's grandpappy, along side funky shield Cap, and the Howling Commandos was one of my favorite stories of all time. The fact that the story was told through the eyes of Gabriel /Gabe/, made it just that much more special.

Part of me wonders if that wasn't what Bast was like during Infinity and Time Runs Out, when Thanos was kicking it in Basts living room.
Rewatching that, I do sort of feel bad for Cringer though. Sort of messed up that Adam was continuously getting him into combat situations when he clearly didn't want to.

That was the first thing I thought of when I read your post.
Bast and Crom's motto: The lord helps those who help themselves.
There are three easy ways to explain why Bast does not actively get involved in Wakandan affairs.
1) Bast cannot directly intervene, due to mystical vows & treaties. Empower and advise champions, yes, but not intervene, There is actually a precedent for this in canon, involving the Third Host of the Celestials.
2) Bast does not want to intervene, because (s)he believes that it is better for Wakandans to stand for themselves. The Panther mantle is meant to inspire others to surpass their limits, not be a cure-all for every single problem.
3) Bast has no desire to intervene, because worshipers are supposed to serve, not dictate terms. You might call this the "a-hole" solution. ;)
4. Bast is a feline and only gives a shit when she's not napping, wants food, or, like all god's and cats, wants to be worshipped. She probably has a collection of different people's all across the universe.

I would say a combination of 1 & 2. She cannot help unless certain conditions are met, and even then she doesn't want to unless absolutely required. I take this from gilis run when the tpg took on an Avatar because the people were pleading, then the 2bd Option shows on Hudlins WitBP when he told kshan bast work's through him and there is no feat he is able to do that kshan cannot also pull off
Are there still peeps that watch BET?
After that Black Panther cartoon debacle there needs to be some shaking of collective heads!
BTW who won for most ratchet video?
Was there a Twerking or most Gangsta award?
Remember way back when a long time ago in a galaxy far far away this was actually funny...

After the Black Panther movie this type of stuff is hard to watch anymore...
That made my soul hurt...
Let's all be real here...
We all wanted to convert to whatever The Reverend Ebony Maw was preaching at the beginning of Infinity Wars... We are all children of Thanos buy default! :D
Of course "Darth" Thulsa Doom was on that next level occult ish... James Earl Jones needs to be the next elder to replace Zuri just to hear his unique voice in Wakanda!

Bast needs to step up her game to stay relevant with all these other gods playing musical chairs in other franchises and leaving memorable performances!
Just seeing him and his boys ride up after wiping out a village and pulling of that helmet was badass.
James Earl Jones: Greatest villain of all time.
We all know, anyway, that Bast is merely Mufasa with a haircut. ;)

I'm on my third copy of the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. (Great for background music for dnd sessions) In my opinion an underrated gem and Arnold's best performance.

Didn't he only have like six or so lines?

Definitely underrated but a cult classic.
Judgement Day was Arnold's best performance imo.
