force push thing is 100% legit and I can't believe no one thought of it sooner. Its so obvious that it got missed or something. Makes perfect sense with the vibranium suit
I just hope he doesn't end up using it all the time. Some writers have a tendency to do that... come up with a new trick and forget about everything else. If memory serves, there was a Thor run (Jurgens?) where the character used a "god blast" power more than his classical abilities. Done poorly, it would make T'Challa a 1-trick pony.
(Oh, and it looks like Coates mistranslated his Hausa, too)
-
Concerning T'Challa becoming King again, correct?
To be very honest...I don't know. I was able to come up with some scenarios but there's a lot of holes to fill for all of them. Some of them are outright cop outs.
1. The reality / time gem, while very effective, didn't work to perfection and some things got shifted or lost in translation somehow. In this timeline, Shuri was never a Queen. She might not have been a BP as well. This scenario creates the most amount of problems from a narrative standpoint, as we are left wondering if anything else has changed. It also affects the previous events, which appear to be relevant to the Coates run. I would be shocked if Coates (and editorial) goes that route.
2. During the 8 month gap, Shuri was either gravely injured or killed (similar to what happened to T'Challa). Thus, T'Challa is king again. This scenario is the cleanest one, but a hell of a cop out to me. I definitely hope Coates doesn't go that route.
3. Shuri, for whatever reason, steps down and thus T'Challa is King. The obvious question with this scenario is why would she step down in the first place. At the moment, I can't think of a reason why she would.
4. Shuri and T'Challa somehow decide to co-rule. T'Challa is King and Shuri is Queen. First question is why would they agree to co-ruling in the first place. More importantly, who has the final say? Who's in charge? What happens if they disagree? T'Challa and Shuri have different views on running the country, so this would cause quite some problems in the long term. I would be very surprised if they go that choice.
Perhaps Coates figured out an explanation that makes sense without relying on character death or drama between the two. We'll find out soon enough.
"Why would Shuri do it"
Because she is a place holder. She is keeping the seat warm. Bast would have given the title back to Tchalla if he wanted it.
Tchalla is the heir to Tchaka, not Shuri. After Tchalla accomished what Bast task him with, Bast could have given him his birthright back.
Of course, to the newly formed shuri fan club, it hurts to here that she is justva place holder but its an in panel truth

Just remembered something
Coates scans have the Dora rejection from TRO and then these new spear dudes
But Ultimates 1 had tchalla with 2 doras like usual
So the dora thing is purely a flash bank or ewings and coates were not on the same page in regards to yhe doras

What was mistranslated?
EDIT: Nevermind, realized google had a Hausa to English translate option.
Damisa-Sarki, Coates shorthands it to The Panther, but the phrase actually means Leopard (or Panther) King.
Haramu-Fal, Coates seemingly translates this as the Orphan-King, but that's not actually what that means, and I think that's intentional. Haramu-Fal translates (according to google) as "abomination to the brim." T'Challa, the character, might be consciously lightening the blow in the caption. Or Coates is using the "--" to separate two ideas in his thoughts. It's hard to know without additional context to how Coates is writing the captions.

It's probably just a flashback to the imagery of the Doras walking out on T'Challa after he fell from grace. I imagine they returned to his side after he restored himself to being king. It's, once again, something Coates is going to have to answer after Hickman's run.

I interpreted the Doras in the Coates run scan as a flashback as well (its paired up with the flashbacks of namor and T'Chaka). But as you said, that will have to be addressed as well.

That would be pretty awesome. Even better if there's a part of the exhibit where people can actually meet Black Panther, in the MCU suit, and get to take pictures with him :).
That poor cast member though...

I do kinda wonder how isolated Coates' run might be from the general MU and other books.
I don't see it (or hope it doesn't) having to tie into Civil War at all, but given Coates was at the retreat developing the event, I could see him coming up with a natural way of integrating the event into his run if he wanted to do so.

Not one person complained about having upgraded tech.... we said we don't want him running around with 15 hundred stupid gadgets and turning him into Batman. The force push thing is a natural extension of the vibranium weave suit. 99% of people liked the idea first time Coates showed it. The beads seem to do more with civilians and stuff... which is cool... and once again doesn't add dumb gadgets for T'challa.
Many (including me) wanted T'challa to defeat enemies with his built in abilities, limited tech, and his strong strategic mind. You (and others) wanted him to be a batman/iron man clone.

Honestly, I kind of wish Avengers 3 was more like Ultimates 2 and set up a group of foreign superhereos to act as a counter measure to the US centric Avengers.

This explanation and the one I previously mentioned feels like the "gravely injured / killed in the 8 month gap" scenario: it's clean and straightforward, but imo has a cop-out vibe to it.
Personally, I hope Coates goes with a different explanation.

I think no matter what, it is goign to have some sort of cop out feel to it. Just because we won't get a "story" featured around Shuri and her loss of the throne. It is gonna be quick and clean and then moving on. Gist of it is, T'challa is important to Marvel and Shuri is just a supporting character. They just won't waste too much panel time explaining it because the number of fans that probably care are all in this thread haha.
As long as we get SOMETHING, i'll be cool with it. They could very well just use the, "Shuri past the title over before she suicided" thign as the reason.

Hey as long as they are working together on it im good with either. I just want there to be continuity with his Tech so that everything is consistent. Claws, Daggers, Force push, microweave, Wearable Kimoyo, and shadow physics. If all of that is used and used consistently. Them im good

A story isn't needed, just a good explanation that's well done. Now, what the definition of a "good" explanation is will vary from person to person. We'll see what happens soon.

Eh SWaD T'Challa was cool, But i would much rather have CJP T'Challa, were he seamlessly mixes H2H with his Tech and uses his decent arsenal of tech to great effect while also using said tech in unorthodox manners (Ie Using his daggers to shoot down a helicopter by setting it to stun mode and overloading the system). Its good to see T'Challa handle things without his Tech, but honestly do you want to see the leader of the most advanced nation on earth NOT use any of his tech? Seems like a waste

This is the part that intrigues me. How long will the Wakandans accept Bast as their boss. Its not like with a wave of her magical paw, she can make Wakanda instinct.
About tech, I think TChalla should always be evolving. I dont think he needs to bring an Iron Man level armor with him at all times, i think a predator set up fits the character better.
When it comes to super powers, he should be at least be in that 1-5 ton strength level. Its new world and being just a really strong guy is not something that I think Wakandan pride would tolerate. Wakanda would have Super soldiers, and especially a Super King.
I am really pulling for Coates to use bad guys like Nightshade,Zanda(iffy),Malice, or the Cannibal.
That being said, project number one is getting Killmonger up and running.

Shuri's a Reg-created continuity implant.
If they never mentioned her again, the purists would probably be overjoyed.
As it is, maybe they'll introduce her in a later arc. There is no real point to bringing her up in a story whose
purpose is to reimagine T'Challa for ANAD.
It's not like she was remotely popular with even Panther fans.
Kaper Cole is probably more well liked among the Panther fanbase than Shuri.

Bloody Lips would be a good villain. He's a new character who appeared in the latest Elektra series. Basically, he's a Cannibal who gains the powers, memories and whatnot of every person he eats. He keeps them locked and takes a bite once in a while. Sometimes an arm or a leg. He's truly scary if used correctly.

I'd love for there to be an issue concerning the transition, partially for the reason you gave (good story). Plus, going from one BP to another a usually a big deal in the BP mythos.
I would be pleasantly surprised if that happens however.

Maybe, but still, he'd be a formidable foe. He had high tech weapons and the like, so it's not as if he was a street-level foe. But yeah, he'd probably fit better with Nighthawk. Still, he's an interesting character.
