[QUOTE=Cville;3765781]Acuna getting all the love. Coates is barley getting praised.

The TL;DR version:
"We don't know what's going on or what will happen next, but it looks pretty!"

[QUOTE=FLEX HECTIC;3765732]That 1.3 billion dollar elephant in the room...
Once upon a time in an alternate time dimension the Black Panther was that character that struggled but that was yesterday... Today 1.3 billion dollars makes him a character that should not have to struggle any longer!
At what point does it officially become a bonafide cash cow and get that type of treatment as is afforded other characters for decades?
Black Panther is not that character that needs an X-boost or a Star Wars type assist from any other characters because this is the moment it has been waiting for since 1966 and 1.3 billion dollars confirms this!
I'm willing to ignore the lack of a Royal Talon Fighter toy especially with Toys R Us gone belly up and leaving a gaping hole in the sandbox playtime category but to not have it's own solo office like other franchises do is glaring!
There should literally be room set aside at Disney full of Black Panther MCU products (for inspiration of course duh) where a Manhattan Project team only focuses on adding more to that 1.3 billion dollars with no outside interferences period!
What Disney accountant is fact checking the revenue books and is not insisting on more cash going to this intellectual property while the iron is ever so hot for striking!
Every time a silly idea comes up for Black Panther all they should here is this...

[B]This. Black panther should have it's own section. Seeing as there is a rich untapped history that marvel has refused to cash in on,and continues to allow this X-Men stuff to ride coat tails since BP is so hot.
This is what needs to be said to the x franchise trying to creep in

I am a big Aaron fan but...
Avengers has been a disappointment.
It is just "there." There really haven't been any cool character interactions, no cool big moments (sub was neat today), I actually don't like the art at all and I don't feel like it fits the book
It isn't "bad" it is just a read, shrug, move on type book.

I'm just tired of Marvel's whole "F*ck history, those stories don't count. Here, have some Big Ideas™ to mask the fact that our skills at characterization stink!"
I mean, in AVENGERS #4, he literally plays the "everything you know is a lie!" card to justify a story that will likely be ignored the next time that particular culture is needed, which will likely be relatively soon if a certain MCU rumor is true.
Then again, I still haven't forgiven Aaron for his STRANGE run....

Trying to creep in?
I'd say Coates obsession with pushing his X-related agenda using the BP solo book as a convenient delivery system, is a mission accomplished on his part.

This is the first issue I really liked.

If the culture we're talking about is about to get their own book, then I'm sort of assuming this story is in part setting that up. But we'll see.
I do think Aaron is doing a lot of retconning, and the whole "everything you know is a lie" thing is overplayed. But at the same time, for something like the Celestials I think you can sort of get away with that sort of thing. Mysterious cosmic beings we know next to nothing about are easy targets for this sort of thing.

That's just the thing. We know quite a lot about them (except their actual origin). But like I said, the hot thing these days is to ignore history to "put your own stamp" on the characters & concepts. Coates is doing it with BP, and Aaron seems content to do it with pretty much everything else.

I'm late to the party since I just read Black Panther #2. I'll give my thoughts in a second, but I was wondering if anyone read Wakanda Forever? I didn't buy it because it doesn't seem worth the money, but I'm curious if anyone else did.
On to Black Panther. Obviously, I'm a week late, so sorry about that. I was doing my best to avoid spoilers so I apologize if everything I say is redundant.
I don't know why people said they were confused by this story. This seemed like a pretty straight-forward Star Wars comic. ;)
Seriously, though, the action was good and the world building has potential. The basic idea is T'Challa is a badass rebel leader who always has the upperhand on the Empire. The M'Kraan crystal makes a ton of sense as a way to resolve this whole thing if they're either in the future or in an alternate dimension. Yes, I recognize they could use King Solomon's Frogs to do the same thing, but the frogs are often used in light romps, which this is not.
BTW, is "Every breath you take is mercy from me" the Black Panther equivalent of "You shouldn't have signed it" in Daredevil? Look, I know it's jarring that it's used in such a different context, but I find it just to be fun. Plus, if they're in the future, they might know it's a famous line T'Challa once said and it stuck in the lexicon.

The story isn't confusing it, the premise hasn't been explained yet.
Most people and reviews are confused as to what is happening in the action scenes. One reviewer said BP hit the brakes like top gun while others say he teleported. Others just say they don't know what is happening. Lol
-
Fair enough. Which part are they talking about? It definitely doesn't seem like he teleports at any point.

Where the computer says engage short fold space sequence. And he ends up behind the (tie) fighters. The pilots even said we have him now. Lol

I liked BP 2 even with the art being hard to follow. wakanda forever was not as good to me due to writing reading very amateurish.

Huh, yeah, I assumed he braked, but there's definitely a lot of room for interpretation there (such as how they didn't think a ship could move that quickly). It's a minor point in the issue, but I do agree that's unclear.

Did you interpret the intro as Tchalla has been with the rebellion for two years or has the rebellion as a whole been happening for two?
Because if Tchalla has only been in for a little while, how did he became an ace pilot so quickly.
