Well then Iron Man without his suit. You get the idea
and I don't want articles I want visuals, I want backstory, I wanted T'challa and this character really could have been anyone. That's not due to T'chadwicks performance because I'm a fan, dude is legit in all aspects of acting and can actually do his fight scenes correctly (looking at MBJ and how poor his waterfall fight was because he can't). Can anyone who saw the movie answer ANY of these questions?
How long has T'challa been the Black Panther?
Why did his father give him the mantle and not Shuri who is "leading the nation forward" at the age of 16?
What did T'challa look like as a boy? I know what Michael B Killmonger looked like. I know What schools Michael B Killmonger went to, I know what training Michael B Killmonger had. I don't know ish about T'challa after his debut solo movie other than he's a man his a good heart who listens to advise from others.....why? That's my complaint. Great movie, great message but...Who the hell is this T'challa?
T’Challa lost the first battle against Kilmonger because his world had just turned upside down. If you paid attention to Chadwick’s acting you would see T’Challa wasn’t there mentally. He was fully distraught during the fight. “T’Chall you need to focus”. As Shuri yelled in the middle of the fight. When T’Challa came back Kilmonger lost simple as that.
Hes been black panther for ten years. Shuri would have been six at the time. She is leading the nation forward in technology as head of Wakanda Design Group.
Like most monarchies the eldest becomes king. Which is why T'chaka said he has been training for it his entire life. Killmonger pretty much always wins. And he usually makes it look easy.
When did they say ten years?
and hell if Shuri is the smartest at age 16 you might as well make it all the way ludicrous and make her the smartest at age 6.

Also Shuri seems to have little to no interest in becoming BP or Queen. She loves doing her science/tech work.
Joker didn't lay hands on Batman and mock him in front of his own ppl before tossing him into a waterfall though. And before you reference comics Killmonger, this clearly wasn't Killmonger from the comics. If US military training is enough to do that then the US has a lot of potential Kings of wakanda running around in camo. No one here is disputing the greatness of the movie. Coogler made a made movie but that....wasn't T'challa. The russo's did much better and will again most likely in Infinity.
Joker isn't a skilled fighter like Killmonger is nor did he challenge Batman to ritual combat so that point doesn't make sense.
But Joker surely did mock Batman.

So does that make Killmonger, via certain mathematical principals, the greatest combatant in the MCU thus far?
If T'Challa can take Bucky and Captain America, and Killmonger can take T'Challa......
Who *is* the greatest fighter in the MCU now? Is there someone I'm missing?

He was about to get his head cut off well before that.

No, this is a trait exclusively for Tchalla. Like Anderson Silva and vs Chris Weidman. Killmonger just has his number.
Of course he can beat anyone without super powers too.

The non earth MCU characters could own alot of the earth characters. Also Hulk/Thor/Vision/Drax
I believe Gamora/Valkryie would beat any of the Dora for example.
Captain Marvel is supposed to be the strongest next year supposedly
He was about to get his head cut off well before that.
Yah because he gave Kilmonger the option to yield after first taking him out.
I remember when un-fans used to say this all the time about comics T'challa.
Yup, so of course they're happy to be able to say stuff like this.
T'Challa was never a Gary Stu. He was a genius (tactical and scientific), king, and superhero. Doesn't make him unstoppable. But people hate to see my guy at his peak.
Because he’s an excellent writer on top of being able to add a unique perspective to T’Challa, Wakanda, and the world due to his experiences and background? Never mind the fact that Marvel’s writing team is less diverse than it’s traditional character lineup, so he adds much needed diversity in that respect as well.
I’m ok with heroes having flaws.
There are flaws and there is being made to look incompetent, indecisive and emasculated. I have all of the more modern writings of Black Panther books aside from Coates, Marbery?? was the only other writer that seem to allow T'challa to be knocked around without ever getting good rebound and rebuilding.

T'Challa accepted the challenge. He could have pushed it off till the next day or something or refused the challenge (granted that might be problematic). I think its admirable he accepted the challenge, but I still don't think its a "good" excuse that he wasn't focused. It's probably true, but he accepted the fight and lost straight up.
Now in his characters defense losing the fight to Killmonger is T'Challas only mistake/slip up. Thats pretty good for a monarch. He handles everything else appropriately with level headedness. Even when he accepts Killmongers challenge it is done to stave of other potential problems. He just loses the fight and almost destabilizes his country and the world.
Killmonger sets everything in motion and takes some risks that he's ultimately lucky paid off with him becoming king.
