The actual PROBLEM is that Coates does like, respect or recognise the validity of what writers such as Lee, Kirby, Priest, John's, Hudlin, McDuffie and Liss brought to the Black Panther mythos before his wackness arrived on the scene.
Facts. There is a difference between writers being INSPIRED by real life political events THAN people like Coates ENFORCING their political views on already established characters/settings.
We've already had a few people looking at the movie poster and asking "Why aren't there more white people this movie?"
We got folks already calling for boycotts of the film for the lack of black women leads (I know....), Black Panther was created by whites, Black Panther movie is funded by Disney not blacks and bitter black creators (you know who I am talking about) mad that folks are excited for Black Panther but won't support black created material (despite evidence showing otherwise).
Yet will have no issue with all these white movies/shows where POC should be all over the place and they are MIA. We get comments of "It's blank's product and it's their right to cast who they want." See HBO's Girls.
But when the shoe is on the other foot-it's RACIST towards whites.

Yet no one asked about why there are only white people in the lord of the rings saga
Yet no one asked about why there are only white people in the lord of the rings saga
I remember whenever this question was brought up at the time (in regards to the movie trilogy) fanboys would come up with MAD excuses like "product of its time" "he based it on a particular region" blah blah. There's always a legitimate, perfectly logical excuse for why black people aren't included in movies, but put it on the other foot, oh its racism no other reason period the end next question.

Or the Jetsons.
Nor is it ever explained why on white shows the blacks don't show up until a racism story (90210 original), hood story, interracial story or sports story.
Nor explain why only one black person is with the white cast and is NEVER seen with other blacks until the above happens.
Meanwhile black shows have no issue tossing in whites and it's not a racism story.
Funny how that works, if it was an all white cast, no one would bat an eye, but when it's an all black cast, "Why aren't there white people?" It's Kinda funny how it's cool seeing all white but when they aren't the majority, they are the minority, and they aren't saviors either, it's too much for some to comprehend
Oh I forget we also see comments like this-
This is another example what passes for "diversity" in Hollywood. Take what is essentially a "white" character an add a "blackface." Real diversity begins from the ground up with characters and storylines that grow organically out of the "black" experience. As Ad man Tom Burrell correctly opines, "Black people are not dark skinned white people."
This was in reference to Miles Morales movie. It applies to Panther because I have heard that comment get tossed to him and even Static.
What is the black experience?

Whatever it is, I'm sure Matt Damon can explain it.

If you haven't seen the meme........B,b,b,but-t-t-t,. The Black Panther movie has the requisite number of Tolkien white folk in it. Almost some real punny **** there.

What a time to be alive where in 2018 I get to see T’Challa and Miles on the big screen in the same year

The Luke Cage show got the same criticism. "This show is racist because there's not enough white people!"

Even if Coates did BP politics free, we'd still would be getting Milquetoast McMopey Pants T'Challa.

That person doesn't support black creators himself. Somehow he thinks it makes sense to bash the script of the BP movie though it hasn't even been released yet and he has no idea what the plot is.

I didn't look at any posters of Lord Of The Rings or any of its sequels and say, "Hey were the non-caucasians at?" So anyone crying about the supposed lack of a heavy Caucasian presence in the Black Panther movie needs to take several seats or go cry in their car.
The sheer audacity and arrogance of such shallowness is mind-boggling to say the least.

Yep. It's pretty stupid. It's funny when people moan about Miles and then say they are forcing diversity and their reasons, it's always the same. Like these folks go to meetings to spout the Same word for word garbage
