The question we should ask is how many Black male mutants have their been on the main X-Men teams?
Bishop is the only one I can recall.
And the only prominence that BP brought to an X-book was to show how ineffectual X-writers are at writing any Black male characters let alone mutants.
The fact that he’s had more panel space in the X-men books than any black male mutant is the very telling point. Even with all the shots thrown his way, he was still more present than any black male mutant. That’s a sad irony.

I think Maggot was on the main X-Men team for a cup of coffee.
Saying the same **** people have been saying for 20 movies now with no original thoughts along with a boring ass voice.
Next time, post a video complaining about quipping. It would be just about as original.
Yikes.
If you go to just before marriage, so Hudlin's run, you have
- House of M
- Wild Kingdom
- then obviously all the Storm marriage stuff
- that terrible Storm mini that got retconned
- Wolverine, vol 3, 52-53 where wolverine and sabertooth end up in Wakanda
- Worlds Apart
- Cable and Deadpool #46
- Doom War
- AvX obviously
- wolverine, vol 5, #8
while also "supplying" Gentle to the X-franchise and funding them when they were in Utopia (I think)
Also, you would have to get credit to T'challa for integrating Storm into the Fantastic Four mythos and integrating Storm into the (brief) Avengers mythos.
I mean, really, the only other competition would be...
Him
Yikes lol
I do think he's kind of right about the action though.

Thank you, my friend. I’m glad you see the point. Even with all the disrespect heaped his way T’Challa was still more present than any black male mutant you could possibly name. I’m speaking solely from the marriage on into present day. Objective truths.
When considering the timeline of events, how do my fellow Black Panther enthusiasts feel about the realization that King T’Challa was indeed the most prominent black male in the X-men books for years? I’m talking marriage until now?
I wasn't aware this was the case.
When did any of the X-writers openly acknowledge T'challa as anything other than a mill stone around Storm's neck?

I’m not talking about how he was presented. I’m acknowledging the very truth of fact that despite how you may have liked the appearances T’Challa has had in the X-men books since the marriage until present day, you still cannot personally name a black male mutant that has appeared more than Storm’s exhusband. You can’t name him because he doesn’t exist. Objective truths here.

If we're talking about sheer number of appearances, I'd definately say Bishop is has more Xmen appearances than T'Challa. T'CHALLA hasn't appeared that often.

Can anyone currently posting in this thread, tell me what's so hard about crafting tales around an African King who also happens to be one of the foremost super genius Warrior Kings in the MU?
Serious question.

I don't think it is "hard", I simply think it is a lack of "imagination" on the writers part. Hopefully, a new horizon will dawn soon.

I mean.. meh BP was more then just a standard superhero flick. My only complaint was when Tchalla was wrecking goons it was hard to see in the theater

Nothing at all. =)

I think Black Panther should be downgraded so that every other character that struggles to maintain decent sales in comics and movies should piggyback off of him at his expense!
(quickly runs out of thread)
Flex Hectic: "HEY... Who hacked my account?"
Gosh Darn Gremlins! ;)
Seriously... As Majestic pointed out how hard is it to craft tales around a warrior king this should be plug and play like turning on the Xbox and mashing buttons to make something anything happen just by default!

There is so much to use for black panther, that you could easily tell decades Worth of stories without ever having to venture outside his world (get should interact with the mu but his Mythos is that Rich with untapped potential) there are so many stories to tell. There's absolutely not excuse as to why we are not getting writers with creativity and a drive to push him higher

yea that was actually my only complaint too, especially with the first scene. I'm hoping the cgi is much better next to round especially with all the money the first one made.

I have a theory…
Comics have become infected by what I sometimes call the "literary disease" in that they've accepted the premise that a story cannot be well-written and popular/escapist at the same time. So we have run after run of stories that are political analogies, psychological deconstructions, or post-modern satires, when all many readers really want is to be entertained by a good adventure story.
