Every other form of entertainment has fully embraced and is capitalizing on his popularity and exposing him to a broader audience except the comics... Tells you all you need to know about where there priorities are.. Marvel is so busy trying to make Carol a big deal instead of making T'Challa into their Super hero James bond hybrid
They're making an effort on the comic side too. THere's like 2 or 3 Black Panther books coming down the pike.
I'll certainly agree they could do more with him, but I don't agree he's not a priority.

Yep... they will release his solo comic stories a lot because thats where they want to keep him.
But when it comes to making his presence felt in other comics, that's what they'd actually need to do to broaden his horizons and make fans of those comics interested enough in his character to want to check out the solo comic.
That's what they should be doing. But as you said... they show where their priorities are.
The moment they start making him a bigger deal in more than just his solo comic where they want to keep him at, is when some change will be felt. Till then it is what it will always be and has always been.
They should be. But I doubt they see it that way.
As opposed to MARVEL's business strategy being to integrate him with the rest of the MARVEL comic universe and building him up to the levels of a Bruce Wayne/Tony Stark in terms of importance and thus introducing him to readers of other selling comics to bring even more of an audience to him as a whole, they would rather feel like he shall only attract a certain demographic, and try to keep him in the pages of his solo comic and barely bring him up anywhere else with any significant relevance.
If he is with Storm.. he gets further integrated into the universe as a whole and thus becomes more of a big deal that branches out into not just his own story, but Storm's as well as some X series, But MARVEL doesn't really want to have to do that. They really don't want to make him as big a deal as a Tony Stark or a Bruce Wayne with a James Bond edge. He has ALL the potential and character and rich history that they'd have a goldmine on their hands, but they don't see it that way obviously. The only reason they'd even do that was if they thought they had a gold mine with him, and very obviously they either don't think so, or do but don't want to build him up to those levels anyway even if they think they do.
It's been a similar circle for years.
Heck I don't even think they'd do something that wouldn't even make any sense even if it meant that it would boost BP outside of his own comic.
Anyone see the GOTG stopping by Wakanda anytime soon? Anyone think that sparks could ever fly between T'Challa and Gamora?
Even if it could, and a story could be built around it that made sense and worked, MARVEL won't do it. Even if they could make it happen in the movies because they have both BP and Gamora, they won't. Because again, that opens up BP to appear more often in other series outside his solo comic, and they want to keep him confined to it.
In fact if we're being honest, the only other relationship they'd likely put T'Challa into in the comic if it was a "full time commitment" that they'd green light, would be with another woman in Wakanda, someone that can ONLY appear in his comic and nowhere else. That way they get to do whatever the heck they want with Storm and disconnect them, and any chance he has of branching out of his comic, AS WELL as free her up for whatever relationship they want to throw her into next, while also keeping Black Panther right where they want him to remain... his solo comic.
It's infuriating when you think about it. But it's what Marvel does, and the pattern they've consistently shown.
It's a pattern in almost any medium. It's one reason I was happy I found CBR back in the day. Felt like home to find so many others clear sighted. Most have moved to HEF, but I'm too lazy these days.
I love you for the Gamora line. Been shipping her and T'Challa many years.

Cat/Fish Tails.

Want to make a bigger effort? Put him on a flag ship Avengers team, or Reintroduce the Ultimates except this Time add Characters like Thor or strange that he can interact with and have them go on Hickmans Avengers World esque adventures facing real threats both cosmic and alien.
That 1 million bc legacy one shot? That had Odin, Phoenix, Iron fist, strange, starbrand, ghost Rider and BP? That right There is a powerful team just waiting to be utilized in modern day like the Issue teased. Put that team together with Tchalla as the leader, or the leader behind the scenes,
and we got ourselves a pretty badass Avengers team. New Avengers, Ultimate Avengers or The Avengers. Out alot of people were excited for that line up and wanted to see today's Characters in it so why not make it happen? Yes there are some spin off solo books (Evan's book so far seems like it's going to be amazing) but he needs to be a part of a flag ship team book to expand his horizon

Years ago I was accepted, but life got in the way and I even forgot the username I chose. Besides, I've learned over the years my sledgehammer tongue is blunter than a....sledgehammer. And yet, somehow I manage to split hairs with it. No. You all are more articulate and better natured. Thank you, however.

Not just that, but that would not only sell well, it would make a heck of a TV series(Cartoon) as well. Odin, Phoenix, Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, Starbrand, Ghost Rider and the leader being T'Challa? Yeah... I'd watch.
Depends on your definition of better I guess.
I actually respected the fact that 2 heroes decided to put aside thier differences and work together rather than continuing to fight each other. I'll say again, their pointless conflicted resulted in the deaths of both their people. What was the point really? Was any of it even worth it? They should frankly be embarrassed that it took the death of their people to realize that more important stuff was going on at the time. But in the least, they realized it at the end of the story. And that's the point. Hickman showed us that even 2 people who had every right to want to see the other dead could put aside their own selfish wants to come together to serve the greater good.
You call it a goal post... I think it's the actual goal. THe end game of this story was heroism, not revenge. It was about saving lives, not taking them. Again, that's what heroes do.
I'd hardly describe someone who declared war on a country and went on to commit genocide on said country, as being a hero but hey what do I know?
There was nothing remotely "selfish" in T'Challa wanting to end Namor but at the end of the day, we all know that there will always be some lame excuse as to why characters who share the same pigmentation as T'Challa, never get to avenge themselves against proven enemies of a paler hue.
After all according to you both Doom and Namor were immune from being dealt with by T'Challa because other writers had big plans for them.
Funnily enough that didn't stop Doom from getting his ass handed to him by Thor for murdering and mutilating Asgardians or Namor getting beheaded by Hyperion.
But of course Thor and Hyperion are both Caucasian so it's okay.

Yeah, I agree that him being in a core Avengers team is the next logical big step. Problem being right now there is no core Avengers team .... but I think the point of Legacy is essentially to get the band back together. They'be been building towards that for awhile but I think are waiting till around the time od the Avengers movie for synergy purposes. The big question is whether or not T'Challa will be in the group. Again, I think so for synergy purposrs, but we'll see.

One of the biggest problems T'Challa on particular and the BP mythos in general is the fact that outside of the OG's Kirby & Lee followed by McGregor, Priest, Johns, Hudlin, McDuffie, Liss and Ewing, very few (if any) competent, open minded and well known Marvel writers of established pedigree, have actually stepped up to the plate with a view to writing a BP ongoing solo book.
Hudlin, Maberry and Liss all came from a non-comic book writing background much like Coates but unlike Coates, they actually had a dynamic style of writing that suited comics.
Maberry messed up with his Doomwar/Klaws Of The Panther shenanigans but for those notable blunders, he was a pretty good writer with the BP Power arc featuring Queen Shuri being particularly strong.
Coates total lack of respect for the BP mythos as they existed prior to his arrival, coupled with his blatant usage of the BP brand to push his drive to gain entry to the X-Office as a writer has been pretty obvious from the time he started pushing false anti-BP narratives that were more in line with snark aimed at T'Challa and Wakanda from the aforementioned X-Office and their coterie of books.
The fact that Coates has now been gifted a new Storm solo to be penned by him just off of his solid writing of her character in what was supposed to be the Black Panther's solo book (whilst relegating the titular character to the background.) makes it pretty much clear what his original intentions were right from day one.
What the Black Panther needs right now or at least, leading in from the movie is a stellar creative team inclusive of top notch writer and artist (irrespective of ethnicity or gender) who are genuinely interested in writing a no holds barred exiting exploration of what the most technologically and spiritually advanced nation on MU Earth and it's pragmatic intellectual super genius of a Warrior King are capable of doing and how their very existence impacts upon the rest of the MU.
What's also needed is a creative team fully prepared to nurture, explore and develop all facets of T'Challa's being especially in relationship status.
There is no acceptable reason as to why the King of Wakanda should be hog tied to a character who can be yanked away from his side on a whim just because an office crafting characters who exist within the supposedly "shared" Marvel universe throw decidedly nasty hissy fits on a whim.
T'Challa deserves a romantic lead who isn't a shrinking Violet or damsel in perpetual distress.
It goes without saying that said romantic interest/counterpart can be an already existing MU character or one created by a truly imaginative writer who understands how to write fully rounded characters and their relationship towards one another within the open ended fantasy world that embodies the Marvel Comics world of imagination.
Tilda Johnson aka Nightshade is a character I would have loved to have seen interacting with T'Challa a lot more and say this for a number of reasons
Priest had Nightshade go up against T'Challa during his BP run and secondly, Nightshade happens to be a pure super scientific genius in her own right who I feel would definitely find a place within Wakandan society.
After all's said and done, T'Challa and Wakanda deserve better than to be a convenient stepping stone for a writer who never cared for or respected the mythos in the first place.

Well the cartoon wouldn't be able to use Phoenix because it's fox, but a version of it would be boss.. Honestly I think the 1,000000 BC Avengers team in modern day like JA teased Should come to pass, it's a super strong team and everyone there would fill a role, with T'Challa being able to lead it or be the genius /tech
of the group (which show's why he would be there too considering all the other's are hard hitters so he brings the super tech.

I'd watch too ... but honestly I think T'Challa is better off in a core Avengers team with Cap, Iron Man and Thor.
A variation of the 1 mill team would obviously be more powerful, but they'd just be a satellite book to the real Avengers team. For him to be elevated he needs to be rubbing soldiers with the A listers.
