The Ringer listed BP as the second best super hero movie of all time, behind TDK

Winter Soldier is the best to me.
I'd give BP the edge over Dark Knight.
Civil War would be fourth.
I haven't read Avengers #1, but I enjoyed the FCBD issue. There's very much a feeling of what kings do like in Hickman's New Avengers.
BTW, I'm late to the party, but what did people think of the Jakarra retcon in Rise of the Black Panther? I thought it was an interesting way of doing it. I've been thinking of reading one issue of Black Panther Vol. 1 a day like I did with Jungle Action if people might be interested in it - particularly if we're referencing the character.
I loved the Luke Charles/Carl Lucas interaction as well, fwiw.
If you do, let me know. Ill join in. Been meaning to re read i just... really dislike kirbys run. Actually prefer the last couple he didnt write lol
I liked the retcon. Made more sense imo.
Plus, no body, no death. He could come back

Nah lol.
For me, TDK is still my favourite till this day.
Maybe BP2 will change that.

I'd love to see Jakarra come back. The only thing people remember from Kirby's run are the damn Frogs.
I'll try and find a time to do it that fits my schedule. It'll probably be Black Panther 1-15 plus Marvel Premiere 51-53. I hate how they end the Panther v. KKK story, but I think it's worth finishing the story since BP Vol. 1 continues directly from it. I'll send you a PM when I start, but I'm thinking I'll do it relatively soon: Probably starting May 14. I'm definitely looking forward to other views on the issues. I have a Daredevil Book Club I run each week and it's always fun to hear everyone's different views.

Yep, shoot me a pm.
I actually run a book club on marvel reddit. It is on hiatus atm tho because of infinity war spam.
Last time i read vol 1, it was actually intersting how many nuggets Hudlin pulled out of it. Hell, the whole annual tourny comes from kirby

Civil War inches to the top for me. I love two friends going at it, like how Cap and Stark fell out.
And I especially loved how T'Challa's character didn't give a damn about the registration act. An excellent example of an outsider being used to better define a plot.

It sometimes is hard to separate bias when you're a fan boy of certain characters.
I think the Dark Knight from a technical stand point might well be the best comic book super hero film. But because I'm not a huge DC guy, and because I tend to prefer super heroes movies not being overly dark I'd probably put that movie below a lot of the better marvel movies (ie Winter Solider, Civil War, Avengers, and Black Panther not necessarily in that order).

I like Batman Begins over The Dark Joker

I would probably edge out Civil War over Winter Soldier, because I'm amazed they pulled it off as well as the did. It has so many characters, in addition to not one but two debuting heroes. On paper this should have been on huge mess... but instead it balanced everything out damn near perfectly. They added so much without taking anything away from what at heart was a great Captain America movie.

You like Civil War over Winter Soldier?
I know CW was BP's debut but I just thought the story and the fight scenes throughout WS was ahead of CW.
Not by a wide margin but I thought WS stood out more.
