I'm guessing he likely needed a mortal to ground the team. Which im fine with. Tchalla should be the one e who grounds them while also being the prep master

Hard to know. He posted it with the hashtag FBF (flashback Friday) so it could just be from the Infinity War shoot. Or it could be from A4 since they were filmed back to back. Rocket didn't die though, so if it's from A4, it's kind of a spoiler.
I read the latest issue and enjoyed it. The art is nice and I like the story so far. N'Jadaka seems very interesting and symbiote was a nice surprise.
Combative?
This comment coming from someone who routinely runs roughshod over other posters opinions as regards T'Challa and Wakanda is amusing to me.
You might want to go back and read a few of the posts you've dropped within this thread whenever you've felt Storm's character was being slighted before accusing me of being combative.
I believe my original post spoke to you gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the BP mythos as opposed to the snapshot awareness gained from reading Reginald Hudlin's run, David Liss's run, Maberry's Doomwar and a few issues of Priest's run.
I find myself wondering whether you've forgotten yourself?
I clearly stated comprehensive knowledge. By your own admission, you haven't read as much pre-Coates BP related material as is the case for a majority of readers posting in this thread.
Fair enough and to be expected of a Storm fan who came upon the BP mythos by virtue of an interest in Storm.
And yet, when some posters actually provided context backed up with relevant scans to illustrate just how Priest showed T'Challa using his superior intellect,Wakandan technology and martial prowess to best Mephisto, you virtually downplayed Mephisto's threat level.
Al Ewing's portrayal of T'Challa going head to head against the Tiger God was made all the more powerful for the fact that T'Challa's subjugation of the aforementioned Tiger god and bending of said gods will to T'Challa's purpose further confirmed his force of indomitable and dogged self awareness.
Most criticism aimed at Coates for practically all of his BP writing to date, stems purely from the fact that he's had T'Challa playing a backseat role to every supporting character he's seen fit to fill the pages of the titular characters supposedly SOLO book.
He's stripped practically all of T'Challa's attributes and given them to supporting characters as well as portraying T'Challa as a wholly innefectual and clueless leader whose ineptitude as scribed by Coates, has rendered T'Challa all but unrecognizable to long term enthusiasts.
What double standard?
Did you see T'Challa getting a band together to go beat up on the Tiger God?
Apples and oranges as execution and delivery are the litmus test and barometer by which storytelling ability is measured and percieved.
Calling out individual posters is frowned upon within this forum so I'm confused as to how you've come to the conclusion that I've accused you of doing anything of the sort?
I wasn't aware that I was taking anything personally but for someone who flies into action whenever Storm's name pops up in this thread, you might want to take a look in the proverbial mirror.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but speaking for myself, I don't really care to see any relationship between these characters again.
The taint of AvX forever soured me on that.
T'Challa deserves a writer willing to explore T'Challa being involved with someone who doesn't have divided loyalties.
I read the same stories and saw no evidence of writing skill as regards characterization as regards T'Challa in particular and Wakandan society in general.
Thanks for being so understanding.
I'd normally break out the Namor laughing pic at this point but I digress.
What most actual BP enthusiasts want to see is their favoured character written properly as opposed to the milquetoast mess that most writers post Priest/Hudlin/Liss have chosen to put to paper.
Not sure why someone who pontificates about Storm being an actual "Goddess" at T'Challa and Wakanda's expense would be talking about T'Challa's supposedly being unbeatable but that's one of life's irony's I suppose.
Please show me one post where I've "diminished" any other characters or their abilities in favour of T'Challa.
Have I ever said anything of the sort?
I wasn't aware of arguing any such thing?
You must have me mistaken for someone else.
I'm beginning to understand Beware of Geeks sage advice a few posts ago.
At no point have I said that your opinion is irrelevant.
You're not even aware of the BP mythos in its entirety but then come in here casting aspersions on posters who actually have indepth knowledge of said mythos.
And yet your actual knowledge of both entities and their threat levels remains woefully lacking.
Stay busy calling out what you perceive as being "bull" while most BP enthusiasts wait patiently for Coates tenure as BP derailer in chief draws to a close in a few more years.
I'm going to bed.
I'm asking you why are you being so combative with me. Your response about what I said to other users has nothing to do with answering that question in and of itself. And to clarify, me respectfully disagreeing and correcting misconceptions about Ororo, Adversary, as well as Tchalla power is not being combative. I'm not sure how you are coming to such a conclusion based upon my exchanges here.
No your original response stated that I had no knowledge of Tchalla outside Coates. If you wanted me to convey to you a "comprehensive knowledge" of tchalla that is what you should have said. However, as I've said time and time again I dont have to prove anything here to any user on my knowledge or lack of knowledge. Especially when after I've read the stories "BP enthusiasts" have used to argue that Coates is this horrible writer I now understand this criticism comes from a place of ignoring context and applying biases against Coates that isnt used with other writers.
I never downplayed Mephisto scans. In fact, I didnt see any actual scans posted and had to read the issues myself. I even requested the scans. This thread is very active so I could have missed the responses. in either case, Tchalla required help to beat Mephisto is this not true? Did he need a team of his wakandan techies to discover and counter the power the frequency from Mephisto's realm gave him? Was it not only Tchalla soul but also the souls of his ancestors that Mephisto could not take and therefore begged tchalla to rescind his offer? How is me acknowledging what happened in the story then downplaying him?
The double standard is that Priest wrote tchalla needing help to beat Mephisto but the ones who criticize coates seeking help to beat Adversary dont apply this same criticism to priest. And I'm not sure how Tchalla beat tiger since this wasnt shown on panwl. It could have been similar to what he did agaisn mephisto but you cant aay either way.
Agreed and everyone has different standards by which they apply good writing. It doenst make them less or greater a fan which is what some are trying to do here. Since I like coates I must not be a tchalla fan and for those who dont and appreciate other writes such as hudlin and others, then these are the real fans. That's the logic that is being applied here and why you and others are taking me to task about not reading certain stories, yet it seems those who did dont fully understand the context of what happened in them.
And that is ok if AvX soured you. It soured a lot of people, but some readers including myself were able to move beyond the horrors of that time. I dont think it's anything wrong with this either.
If people want to see Tchalla written to how Hudlin or Priest wrote Tchalla there is no argument you will get from there. However, Tchalla will never be a character that is insulated to interactions with only himself. Even if it's not Ororo, he will come to paths with characters that have their own established mythos. I'm only saying that tchalla shouldnt be written in a way where others are written poorly and OOC so that he can come off on top. I dont think that is something unreasonable to ask.
I dont think her being an actual goddess would be ironic in any way if you were familiar with her story. This goes back to my previous point I was making about understand other characters mythos.
You did it just now in fact. Your sarcasm about her being an actual goddess at tchalla and wakanda expense is evidence of you diminishing ororos established mythos.
You dont have to say a point is a irrelevant for it to be implied. The point of trying to demonstrate I have less knowledge in certain areas as it relates to tchalla is to then support the idea that I dont know what I'm talking about as it relates to my criticism, which is therefore an attempt to invalidate my point. it may not be purposeful but it most definitely comes across that way.
I never said I do have a grasp of his mythos in its entirety and never would until I can read all the stories. However, I can look at what has been brought up against me to counter certain points that I have made to get an understanding of their perspective, which I have. And from my interpretation at least it doesnt seem to be these arguments are being made with the context included. In fact people were originally saying Tchalla beat Mephisto. it wasnt until I read and saw the context then mentioned the context they conveniently left out here did these posters wish to try to dive deeper.
well in context to the stories I read I understand the threat the posed in those instances.
well I'm here for the ride as long as Coates gives good stories, and there are many many more who are too.
goodnight.
People in a Black Panther Appreciation Thread get bitter when Black Panther doesn't show up in a 2 out of 3 issue stretch
I'm shocked.
LOL, the nerve of some of us to have such expectations! That's as bad as thinking black Panther will be written as some kind of hero in literature that happens to be titled and themed after him. How dare any of us consider this.
There are about four different conversations happening and I don't know where to quip in.
Anyway, besides Avengers, what other comics has T'Challa been in recently?
