A couple of thoughts about the Aquaman trailer..
1. Man I really hope Marvel takes its TIME with the Black Panther sequel. Aquaman had 5 months of production (BP 3 and a half) and about 14 months after wrapping production (BP 10 months) is when the film will be released.
Maybe I'm still salty because IW's CGI looked amazing and Aquaman looks pretty great too. I know part of that is Ryan and Morrison have to get better pre-vis shots, but still if they had TIME it would have worked out better.
2. If Marvel does get Namor it will be interesting how Coogler/Marvel approaches that character and his homeland. Certainly can't cut back on time and budget.
The main thing is there better not be another Avengers movie released the same year as a Black Panther movie. The movie made 1.3 billion, might get oscar nominations and thats while having mediocre CGI in the 3rd act of movie. More resources towards BP's sequel.

Now we judging CGI greatness by a 3 minute trailer as a way to compare to and criticize BP movie?
Bast have mercy

In my honest opinion, Aquaman in terms of scope/spectacle does look a bit bigger than BP. As for the actual quality of the movie, we will have to wait and see.
It all comes down to marvel having to release multiple movies per year which leads to a situation where looking after the production of all movies will be difficult especially with Avengers Infinity War taking much of the time and money spent and the hype that has been building for years, thereby putting pressure on Marvel to live up to expectations.
Funny how BP still made more money domestically than the most anticipated superhero movie ever made.

It's not really much about that.
There is a certain feel of potential ambitiousness in the film i.e Atlantis, sea monsters/creatures, contest battles, different locations, Atlantis vs the rest of the world kind of vibe (Although BP had a bit of that) etc.
It feels a bit like BP but on a slightly bigger scale. Maybe I'm wrong but that is how I see it.
I use Priests version, because it's the only instance we know of where someone outside of T'Challas family has actually won the contest. We never saw anyone outside of T'CHalla's family win the challenge in Hudlins version.
Trump wasn't a flaw in the system. It worked like it was supposed to. The flaw was in Hillary and how she campgained… something even her husband and Obame criticized her on. The point of the electoral college is that it forces the candidates to campaign the ENTIRE country, not just the high population centers like California, New York and Florida. Every states counts, to some degree at least. That's where she blew it. It's not the systems fault... it's hers. But this is probably a bit off topic, so I'll leave it there.
True, however we did see someone besides Tchallas family take the Herb and be judged by Bast the same way one is judged to be the Black Panther. So it's not a rigged system unless your going to claim that they use a different version of the Herb for the challenge.
Did I say Trump is the flaw? No, stop putting words in my mouth. I said the flaw is in the electoral college. Because the representatives of a State can Vote against what the people in that state want and then it becomes X State has voted for y presidential candidate

Don't get me wrong I don't think Aquaman is going to be a better movie. Probably not even close. I think BP is better than IW and deserves its praise.
However, there's a bit of of a cut corners vibe from Wakanda. One of the criticisms people point out is that we only saw the people on one street in The Golden City. You'll find a lot of people who feel like Wakanda seemed a bit more impressive in IW as well. Despite not showing all the gadgets and tech, but don't get me started on that..
Coogler reportedly wanted to film a scene where BP runs to all parts of Wakanda and interacts with the people, Muhammad Ali style, but Marvel said no.
Marvel, imo, needs to decide the direction they are going with the sequel. Either bump up the CGI to Infinity War levels or start filming in Africa to give it a more grounded/authentic feel. That way it doesn't look so soundstagey and restricted.

To me, Aquaman at first glance Looks like starwars underwater. Black panther was more like a look Shakespeare 50 from now

I do agree with that assessment.

And I'm good with the Shakespeare angle. That type of storytelling is why the movie is so great.
However, at the end they tried to go LOTR/Star Wars style. The hope was probably that it would feel intimate, but instead thats when the movie felt small. It really looks like they filmed in some small area in Atlanta and got half effort CGI because the focus was on IW. It becomes jarring.
The movie was trending towards an EPIC conclusion because of the story. However, in terms of execution, resources, it was just a solid ending. I know haters, cynics don't matter, but it really sucks that they couldn't end on a high note so haters wouldn't have anything to latch on. Now they try to dismiss it as Wonder Woman status when its so much more.
Also that Godzilla trailer is pretty great visually as well.

I do kind of agree with the criticism that they only showed one street of people walking in the Golden City. I actually wanted to see some other ways of how Wakadan's lived i.e Mode of transportation (Like what we saw in the Ms Marvel comic where Bruno goes to Wakanda), schools, healthcare etc. but I wasn't kind of bothered with that as this was the first movie and Coogler probably didn't want to put everything out in the first movie and also for budgetary reasons.
With the already existing runtime, the scene where T'Challa visits all parts of Wakanda may have made the movie slower so I get why Marvel didn't want to go on that that route.
Just hope Marvel/Feige don't get too comfortable with the franchise.
Who knows? Maybe we could get a Dark Knight situation here.

Certainly Spiderman took the herb (in a scene which made no sense whatsoever), but his powers grant him a degree of immunity to poisoning, so it doesn't retcon Priest's book.
Though yes, it is possible a different herb was used for Killmonger than in other instsnces. It's frankly not that hard to speculate that Hunter flat poisoned him ... but it's hard to say. Course, if that is the case it's a matter of the thing being rigged. Guy outside BP'S family eind, and guy outside BP'S family gets poisoned. It's naive to assume that's coincidental one way or the other.

Yeah, me too.
Like tax time, do they have a Wakandan HR block? is turbotax available in Wakanda?
What does the grocery store look like? Do Wakandans have to sell part of their soul to go to Wal-Mart to save a bit of cheddar or do they splurge for Whole Foods?
I wonder what the Wakandan checkbook looks like. How do they balance it? Does the kymoyo do it for them? are their overdraft fees?
What kind of mattresses do they use? Does it have vibranium laced through them so they don't disturb their partner?
Is there Amazan Prime?
Can parents have sex in the house with the kids home because those walls be vibranium laced and block all sound?
I wonder how they fold their laundry?
Do they wash whites with colors in Wakanda?
We DID only see one street. Do other streets have crosswalks? Do pedestrians have the right away?
Do they have a decent plus size clothing selection at Wakandamart?
I would have given BP 10/10 but lack of this riveting stuff drops it to an 4/10 at most.

Or How Wakandans detect diseases
How do Wakandans deal with Mortgages
Do they pay student loans in Wakanda
Or better yet Do they have barbing Salons in Wakanda?
All that would have made it a 50/10 for me.
