True. But I'd like to believe during her time under Hudlin on up until Coates, Storm has been regularly training with the queens of the Dora Milaje. As with issue #172 of Black Panther, Storm sees T'Challa as belonging to her and she belongs to him. I can see Storm physically training her body to defend T'Challa as the Dora's do. If for no other reason than Storm flaunting her arrogance around them. A mental nod of "I'm right there with y'all if ever any of you are feeling froggy" type deal.
Many couples love each other, belong to each other, but just can't pull **** together to actually be a couple.
I've never said they don't love each other. I'm saying, there is no issue going back to Priest's characterization of the relationship. There is love their but it just won't work between them. T'challa is always going to put Wakanda ahead Storm (Doom War). Storm is always going to put mutant kind ahead of T'challa (AvX).
And X-Men Editorial is always going to be poop heads about it.
The fact that there were 2 of them was the problem though. They put too much pressure on her to have enough time to use her powers. Against a single opponent, Storm has more breathing room to use her powers. A slightly enhanced skilled fighter isn't something that Storm hasn't stumbled on here and there on her time as an X-Men. For her, that's a doable fight.
One of them was giving her all she could handle.

I am not saying Storm is a bad fighter. But the Doras, on panel, have been shown to have her number if they can prevent her from using her powers. Which they know how to do. "They are brilliant fighters trained by T'challa himself. And they know me inside and out."
Malice is a former Dora, trained by T'challa, who would know every threat inside and out, with a dose of being insane and enhanced. Obviously in a rumble arena situation Storm sends her ass into orbit while getting a pedicure and sipping lemonade, but in a very specific in-story circumstance where Malice surprises her and is able to keep pressure on her... just like the dora in the scan, Storm is in some deep ****.

Preventing her from using her powers is the key because again, we all know that a Dora or any h2h fighter facing Storm is frankly playing out of their league with her. Yes, if Storm is fighting purely h2h she is at a disadvantage... she can hold her own, but she likely won't win.
But as I said, Storm has dealt with pretty much every sort of opponent in her time with the X-Men from martial arts guys to strong guys to laser guys and fire guys and everything in between. Which isn't to say that Nakia under a specific set of circumstances won't be a challenge... but really Nakia here is the one that has something to prove. She needs to prove to the readers that she's a credible threat to Storm, not the other way around.

They probably conquered other civilizations and integrated them. Badoon are fighters so I would imagine they would get out into the military. Wouldn't be surprised if the Kree were in the military too. lol
And the M'Krann is involved so maybe a Gladiator appearance.

Wait... wasn't there some fan fiction dude at HEF who involved the Mkrann crystal and a space empire?

An empire can theoretically made up of various races, so seeing an alien in any sort of position of power doesn't necessarily mean they were taken over.
But yeah... it's too early to say.

That doesn't always have to be the case. But in stories where the narrative is leading to this outcome, then both characters with their deep knowledge of the other one should rightfully anticipate the other's action and respond accordingly. Those are the types of stories I always wanted as a fan of both characters. Whether people like to acknowledge it or not, T'Challa knows Storm just as much if not more so than Wakanda. And he KNOWS Wakanda.

That fight with the Dora's was after Storm's tussle with the Wakandan army (She was cracked in the face with the butt of an assault rifle) and T'Challa berating her in front of the entire kingdom. Her head wasn't exactly clear. But I do agree that the Dora's have be written to be in a league of their own. I also believe after this encounter with them and the reveal that they many of them flat out don't like her, Storm would be training for the day that she'd have to face one or more of them again.

storm was already beat up and tired when she encountered the Dora. she wasn't fighting at 100%.
edit: actually that was when she fought BP. nevertheless storm is is an advanced h2h fighter. the dora just were better in this particular instance.
