storm was already beat up and tired when she encountered the Dora. she wasn't fighting at 100%.
edit: actually that was when she fought BP. nevertheless storm is is an advanced h2h fighter. the dora just were better in this particular instance.
I never said otherwise.
Just point out, using scans, that the Doras give her trouble, lots of trouble, if she can't use her powers. And that Malice would be an even bigger issue considering she is enhanced.

Absolutely glorious! T'Challa looks very stoic, as he should.

Course if Nakia were to find herself in that exact situation (and odds are good she will), the DM would likely be giving her lots of trouble too.
I am always confused why certain fans are so against T'challa spreading his wings while Ororo can play hide the zuchinni with Logan, Old Logan, Forge, Gambit, or whoever else is the flavor of the month in the X-world.

Exactly. Freaking hypocrites.

Storm #172 Spoilers
[spoil]T'challa and Shuri delay the Adversary. Wakandans pray to storm. Storm beats Adversary. Apparently T'challa knew all along who was behind it or at least had a strong hunch. Kind of manipulated things behind the scenes was what was implied.
we also got another movie copy with the "fall out of the plane with bombs" thing
oh and then they kiss and are lovers. At least in the BP books.[/spoil]
If you wanted T'challa to do something memorable, you will not find it.
If you wanted to know what happen to Bast and the Orishas, you will not find it.
If you like Storm even a little, you should like this issue.
I honestly am "meh" about the issue in isolation. But my bigger issue is that this one year long story never answered the fundamental questions issued in #1: Where are the Orisha? Where is Bast? In the first page of this issue, Coates just goes "we don't know, ok fight time."
It never answered that question. It instead used the, "gods are created and powered by the strength of peoples belief," cliche that you can find throughout fiction. In fact, prayer powering a god was used in Thor: God of Thunder God Bomb arc to a much better result than this story because it was a prayer from Gods that powered Thor, the title character, to have the strength to kill the Godbomb/Gorr. Thor is the one that got the series ending mega feat beating the series long mega villain. The ending to that story and the ending to this story are eerily similar, except the mega feat went to a supporting character and the mega villains showed up for one issue.
Coates simply got lost along the way this season. I would imagine editorial got involved and throwing Klaw into the story messed up multiple issues that would have been dedicated to the Orisha and the Adversary instead. It seems painfully obvious that Marvel Legacy threw a huge wrench in Coates plans. But still, was a backstory issue about Klaws sister necessary at all? Was a full fight issue with the MA really necessary? We can blame editorial for saying, "use Klaw," but we can blame Coates for wasting issues that should have went to T'challa figuring out where the Orisha actually went.
But how do you go a whole year in a story and not answer THE question? I didn't like Season 1 but at least it held one plot and idea throughout the whole season. It was cohesive even if it wasn't my cup of tea.
And I still have a problem with Coates thinking T'challa's super power is telling people what ot do and then watching them do the interesting stuff.
Season 2 had better single issues but the overall plot is a GD mess with no satisfying conclusion to the main story mind.
I am going to read the whole season straight to see if I missed something but I am very disappointed ATM about this season. I got my hopes up about a story about Wakandan Gods and answering a huge question since AvX... and instead got some increased action, rough art at times, movie nuggets, and Storm feats.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like a conclusion to a year long waste of time. Lol
So he threw the entire civilization under the bus just to do a Storm feat?

Pretty much. And now he’s gonna be on some 12 years a slave shit with the next arc. I am so damn tired of him dragging my favorite character through the mud just so he can finally get the chance to write and x men book and the fact that he’s hellbent on keeping T’Challa in a relationship with so much negative baggage makes it even worse. If Evan Narcisse does take over the main title then he’s gotta lot of work on his hands to undo all the crap Coates has done to the franchise. Screw all of this.

That was "power of friendship" tier. I wasn't impressed. This season felt like a year long filler.

I guess? I am really hoping I am missing something.

Yeah, waste of a year. Action in a vacuum was decent, but last months issue was way better.

Power of friendship? Sounds like a season of Nartuto Shippuden. Lol

I just finished, you didn't miss anything. A pointless setup was all it amounted to. Throwing darts at a board blindfolded.

I don't know. Evan is currently working with Coates and I think they're friends. So while I can see Evans possibly writing a book more to your liking, I'm not sure we should expect him to just literally undo everything Coates just did. Granted BP writers, for better or for worse do have a history of doing just that, but in this case IF Evan does get the book afterwards I frankly would assume a much smoother transition, Again, they're working together right now anyways so I don't think we necessarily would expect anything too jarring.

Here’s to hoping Editorial will finally put their foot down and reign Coates in. And judging by the fact that the MCU versions of Nakia and M’baku are showing up in the next arc it might already be happening.
