And so has T'challa. His Father, wife, Mother(MIA), Uncle, best comrades, his powers, his title, his country. I'm not counting in bad days, but good days. I'm counting in how there are no obstructions to Peter evolving. He's a bonafied globe troting hero, with the top company in MU. On top of all he had going for him. And thing that he bad during that arc is not being used to grow and evolve him.
Should be the same for Panther.
Apples and oranges.
Pete having money and being a tech mogul is such a subversion of the character that it makes my head hurt. Pete running a tech startup with Hobie Brown using Harry Osborn's capital? Fine. Peter Parker as Tony Stark lite? That's frankly inane.
Black Panther on the other hand, STARTS OUT as a Globe Trotting hero by virtue of the fact that he comes from somethere that's outside of the US. He's starts out rich. He starts out being a tech wizard. Giving him a bunch of set tools only reflects that he's a rich tech wizard. So let him have the micromesh, the energy daggers (is there anybody who doesn't like the energy daggers?) and the predator cloaking.
I'm surprised anybody cares enough about the teleportation to be arguing about its pros or cons, LOL.
Wasn't there some sort of Black Panther weapon at that Marvel traveling show?
EDIT yeah this thing

I would take that in half a second. Give it some vibranium/energy properties and sign me up FAST
THAT is a signature weapon right now.
THe schythe works well for the reasons I listed above as well. No one is going to (or at least shouldn't) see that as a real weapon if they see a kid running around with it.
Maybe kids of farmers might be, but that's about it.
As weapons go I think that works. Though I wonder if that might be the weapons for Wakandan soldiers or Dora's while T'Challa just sticks with claws.

I could dig that as well.
Or even...
T'challa - daggers or spear of bashenga or claws
Doras/elite solider- Scythe
Foot Soldiers- Swords

I honestly hate the fact we live in a world where I'm worried that kids (and specifically black kids) could be endangered due to prop toys. But unfortunately, we've seen it happen.

The foot soldiers should probably just use rifles. Swords and staffs are visually cool, and they do indicate that Wakandas are warriors. But there are valid reasons mankind moved towards more projective based weaponry. For modern combat hand to hand is usually plan B.
it just confuses shit for no good reason. Teleportation is Nightcrawler and Deadpools thing. Let it be their thing and focus on what makes T'CHALLA unique. I don't need him teleporting like Nightcrawler and making shields like Cap. How about he is just fast and skilled enough to dodge attacks instead.
Multiple "things" leads to them disappearing writer to writer. It leads to no "signature."
Its not really confusing. Its a quick form of Travel that he has used a few times and its a pretty neat tool. He has used it a couple times and it makes sense for him to have something like that especially since its tied to shadow physics (which he has created) also as i put in my post too is that it would be secondary gear, which his standard still consisting of the Vibranium habit, energy Daggers, Anti-metal claws, Kimoyo Card, and The Vibranium soled boots as those 5 things are the most important and should always accompany T'Challa to whatever writer is writing him, that and the KotD will be accompanying him based on the ANAD line stating he is having Vibranium and KoTD in his arsenal.
As for what can be his signature weapons they call sell at stores it should honestly be the Anti-Metal claws, i feel those are more iconic then the daggers myself
I think BP's grandfather used a similar weapon in Flags of our Father's, or at least is shown with a similar weapon.
Found it:

Something like this or the Ngbaka (as an energy weapon) would be uniquely african in appearance and be a cultural signifyer, would be distinct and recognizable like Mjolnir, and could be easily made as a nerf toy and sold next to Cap's Shield and Thors Hammer. Also, the design is "fantastical" enough that parents wouldn't associate it with regular knives so it would avert some more problematic issues regarding violent toys.
Ok this makes sense. We did see the Russos and Hudlin in that pic with this. Still wish it was Bashenga tho..

Can someone let me know when the first issues of Black Panther and Ultimates are expected to come out? Need to keep an eye out for them, since I'm only getting Karnak atmo and that only just came out. Sidenote, if there's been anything really good recently anyone feels like recommending, drop me a PM.

I believe the Ultimates comes on my birthday (11/11) and they don't have a set date for the BP solo yet, just that its suppose to come out in spring of next year. You can go onto marvel.com, browse under series, and it will tell you when titles are coming out

Cheers, Eyzo. My wifi's been really shitty with any really flash or image-heavy sites recently so I figured I'd trust in the Appreciation thread.
RE Scythe weapons: Eh. I might be more convinced if they're detachable in the middle and could be used as khopeshes, because they just seem unwieldy to me as a duel-wielded weapon.

Yea, i hear ya But yea people will probably update on when stuff arrives pretty regularly here i think.
The design on those knives are meant for throwing, there extremely dangerous knives because they have so many blades on them AND they can kill with the handle to top it off. would still be cool to see BP fight with them

If they go with that for the movie, that would be awesome.
Quite an imposing weapon too.

Would be cool to see this even tho I am not a big fan of the scythe it all depends on how it is used in live action. Still prefer him to have some sort or boomerang weapon. Where the hell will he put that though when he is walking around?

Make the blades retractable. Or even the entire weapon altogether. That could work.
