he's already cast so.....
So who is going to be the "old star power" of the movie?
Who is going to be the Michael Douglas/Tommy Lee Jones/Anthony Hopkins of this movie???
And who is going to be Serkis/Klaws henchmen? T'challa needs someone to physically beat on... re-imagined M'baku? Killmonger? Hunter?
I just realized BP is coming out a week before Justice League WTF Marvel change that date.
just celebrated with random black guy who just came in to pick up his car
dancing in the streets i tell ya!
i was like, excuse me sir but do you "know who the black panther is?"
I want:
Flex Hectic as Black Panther!
Hehehehe. :)
I just realized BP is coming out a week before Justice League WTF Marvel change that date.
wait what?!?!?!?
As said in this thread Denzel for T'chaka the great
so we getting a BP video game?
If it's like the one Cap had I'm ok with that cause out of that and the ones Iron Man and Thor got Cap's was the best of the bunch
Serkis is brilliant because you already know he'll nail the MoCap.
So pumped! Plus, Serkis would be able to add depth (which some villains have lacked). His Gollum is all kinds of complex.
I just realized BP is coming out a week before Justice League WTF Marvel change that date.
BP is Nov 3
JL is Nov 17
This. My only problem will be if he doesn't build BP back up and also give him a major victory that match his losses that he occurred so far. Im waiting till the story is over before I really judge but based on his track record I believe Hickman will come through. If he doesn't then I'll put him in the same light as Mayberry.
I'm rolling with Shadey on this.
I'll happily eat crow. Thanks Marvel.
We all win.
We are all here because we love BP.
Now Marvel will finally collect the BP books!!!
You know.....
I want to finally read Panther's Rage, and get the Priest run in TPB.

Boseman's movie deal.
Thank you Marvel.
Now do it justice. :)

Boseman's movie deal.
Oh ****......
Going up against justice league isn't horrible. It's a legit built in excuse if box office is off. February would of been an interesting idea
I just realized BP is coming out a week before Justice League WTF Marvel change that date.
Not sure it will matter at that point. If the marvel hype stays true.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=110125
Boseman's movie deal.
They better not get Hudlin to direct this not a diss to him but I would rather they get someone else
Not sure it will matter at that point. If the marvel hype stays true.
True, I just want it to do as good as it can possibly do.
Not sure it will matter at that point. If the marvel hype stays true.
Agreed. I'd be more worried on the JL side, eating into their revenue. They are "all in" and now have a Marvel film that will already have two weeks headstart, and much like GOTG...not much pressure behind it. Batman vs Superman better be a game changer for them, or they better open the vaults for Christopher Nolan b/c Marvel is on a Blockbuster roll unseen before.
The real risk here is overall super hero fatigue. Although, there are no signs yet of it slowing down, despite repeated chicken little calls. Proof Again - Billion $ GOTG.
Just to chime in here: It's not a death sentence to be opening up in front of the JL movie. Remember, there's more set up that DC has to do before it shows that movie. Whereas we'll see T'Challa on the big screen sooner in Cap 3 and then that rumored deal has him appearing in other phase 3 movies. His profile will be raised significantly and you factor in the Marvel marketing machine and I like the odds. Remember how people doubted GOTG and what happened in the box office.
You know.....

I'm hoping the movie might mean we FINALLY get who entire run in TPB! That would be epic!
Absolutely, it isn't a death sentence in anyway. Quite the opposite. BP movie won't have much pressure. Make the bank the first two weeks and then everything else is gravy. The scheduling hurts WB much more than BP/Marvel.
And if the BP films surprises folks and introduces new fans to the characters (it will be cool, fresh and a first) it will look great in comparison to a film with way over the top expectations that will surely disappoint many fans (case in point: every Superman film since Christopher Reeve) who want their Superman their way, their Batman this way, etc. (I won't even begin with Green Lantern)

I was just about to say..the long game may play to an advantage...First BP set up in Avengers 2 then cap 3. So there will be some groundwork laid.
Anyone else find the MArvel vs DC chess game just as interesting?
Since we're having a BP movie, it only means, there's going to be another BP movie. :)
Director wise I really hope the get the guy who directed District 9, Elysium--Neill Blomkamp or the director of I Robot--Alex Proyas.
or Ridley Scott
With Hudlin as producer.
Director wise I really hope the get the guy who directed District 9, Elysium or the director of I Robot.

That wouldn't be a bad call at all.
I just saw Elysium over the weekend, and it had a lot of good things going for it.
I would be intrigued by Steve McQueen. A superhero film seems like the kind of film he would be least interested in taking on. Hunger, Shame, 12 Years....the pacing, the introspection...doesn't equate to a Hollywood Comic Book blockbuster. But his shots are so gorgeous that Wakanda would be something truly majestic to behold. If Deniro can do comedy, right?
I think there is a good chance that Hudlin will be involved in some part of production.
Where is Flex anyway?
Feige mentioned in the Q&A afterwards that Hudlin was one of the people they were talking to about it, but that he was one of many.
It's also worth noting that Boseman will be in Civil War actually as Black Panther, not just as T'Challa. In full costume and everything.
Where is Flex anyway?
He's wrapping up the presser. Who do you think put this together anyway? :p
But how will he be in costume in Cap 3 when he's starting off as a Prince in his own movie?
Agreed. I'd be more worried on the JL side, eating into their revenue. I don't think it'll be any fatigue. Like RDJ was saying they are transcending formula. At the same time these movies are different enough in each installment that no one will get tired it's a whats next type of thing. As long as people keep falling in love with these characters and this universe they should be fine. There is soo much more that is going to come knowing what we know about these universes people will be clamoring for more.
BP will do fine. I feel that it's DC's game to lose at this point. I want to see them do extremely well but Marvel is on top right now. They can do what they want.

Exactly, even though I believed in GOTG from the start most didn't. It did extremely well. Marve can do what ever they want at this point. Their formula or at least the way they do things is working well. That is concentrate each time on making good movies.
So this is the salvation that Bast promised😀
But how will he be in costume in Cap 3 when he's starting off as a Prince in his own movie?
Why not? It could be non linear story telling. The possibilities are endless.

I could see McQueen doing well. And I agree that The BP film doesn't have to follow a traditional superhero formula. Black Panther would work well thematically closer to a Bond film than a traditional Superhero film as GotG worked well as a space opera with humor..
Perhaps a little AIM. a Little Hydra, maybe a NAMOR name drop.

Mcqueen and Hudlin? I think Hudlin is involved in production too.
That pic last night of them and one of the Russo's makes me think this.
I'm hoping the movie might mean we FINALLY get who entire run in TPB! That would be epic!
It would HAVE to be collected. This also means he may get an ongoing soon..

100% NO to Neil Blomkapm. He's a one hit wonder; Elysium was rubbish! And he'd cast that awful actor (who's in both) in the BP movie and I don't want that. Ridley Scott... man, he's lost his edge since Gladiator. That's over 13 years ago! For my money, the most exciting (upcoming) director who is skilled in sci-fi is Duncan Jones. Even Sourcecode (not his script) was very well directed, but Moon was fantastic.

Fassbender as NAmor. <evil Laugh> internet breaking cameo.
