[QUOTE]BLACK PANTHER BY CHRISTOPHER PRIEST: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION VOL. 1 TPB
Written by CHRISTOPHER PRIEST & JOE QUESADA
Penciled by MARK TEXEIRA, VINCE EVANS, JOE JUSKO, MIKE MANLEY, MARK BRIGHT & SAL VELLUTO
Cover by JOE QUESADA
Black Panther reinvented as a sharp and witty political satire? Believe it! T’Challa is the man with the plan as Christopher Priest puts the emphasis on the Wakandan king’s reputation as the ultimate statesman, as seen through the eyes of the U.S. government’s Everett K. Ross. As the Panther investigates a murder in New York, Ross plays Devil’s Advocate in an encounter with Mephisto, and a new regime seizes control in Wakanda. When the truth behind the coup becomes clear, T’Challa finds himself an enemy of the state — and a major revelation threatens to destroy his relationship with the Avengers! Plus: Meet Queen Divine Justice — is she ready to join T’Challa’s deadly crew of female bodyguards, the Dora Milaje? Are they ready for her? Hold onto your pants, because Ross sure can’t! Collecting BLACK PANTHER (1998) #1-17.

The Amazon August date may still be correct for them, since trades are released to the specialty shops and direct market earlier than the general retailers.

Thanks for the info. I keep forgetting.

[QUOTE=MindofShadow;1124159]The longest standing rumor about Infinity War though was that the original avengers (stark, rogers, thor, hulk) wouldn't be involved and would all "reform" again in Infinity War 2 to join with the "new avengers"
And it makes sense in regards to everyones contracts. Thor, Rogers, and Stark's contracts end after one more movie (Stark signed an extension for CW). So they can't be in both movies unless Marvel is gonna pony up the cash. It makes more sense to save them for Infinity War 2 than to kill them off in Infinity War 1.
Plus... Thor's next movie could leave him incapacitated for a while (Ragnarok), Rogers next movie could lead to him being gone for awhile (CW). And then who knows what they will be doing with Stark... he could easily be shamed from the public eye in CW for his part or maybe he is the one that gets the "new avengers" togther in infiity war 2 ala EMH.
I just don't know where the hell T'challa fits in in all this. I makes zero sense i cast Chadwick, have the costume ready, put him in Civil War with a decent role... and then put him on the shelf for 3 years? Kill all momentum BP has for a movie Marvel obviously considers risky?

Funny, but Whedon states Klaw's role in Age of Ultron was not originally supposed to be foreshadowing, as he had no idea they were making a Black Panther movie back when he wrote the screenplay for AOU.

Which begs the question, does marvel really care about bp or are they just doing it to please fans? because no one begged for ant man or gog for that matter

I'm not really sure what you mean here. I'm sure he wasn't aware of a lot of what was announced for Phase 3 by that point since this was written back in 2013.

If they are making a movie for a certain character, majority of people working with marvel must have at least have an idea on what character will appear on the big screen. The fact that whedon didn't know about a future bp movie gives me the idea that the announcement of a bp movie was an afterthought rather than having plans for it many years before

I wouldn't assume that at all. Even when he was writing it the announcement date was still almost two years away with the actual film being another three, so I doubt they had made a decision yet about who was going to be in Phase 3.

Or things may be compartmentalized more than we think
or Whedon is lying
You don't cast Andy Serkis for a 5 minute role

If it was about comic book fans, we would have gotten a BP 10 years ago. Their investors saw the money GoTG made and decided to get in on some of that superhero box office before the bubble bursts

Thing is, tons of things are in development at any given time and even more get optioned, but nothing's a done deal until the movie's shot and in the can. JW might have heard about a BP film, but didn't know if it was going to be made. Also, keep in mind that Ant Man was supposed to come out before the first Avengers movie and look what happened there. Marvel almost gave up on it, but it was Wright that kept the project alive.

I guess it depends on when they wrote it but really Klaw and they dont expect it to be foreshadowing.
