no Idris is fantastic but not for Blade, unless your going back to more of a Tomb of Dracula inspired version.
DC has to fix Cyborg before they even think about taking on Jon Stewart or Mr.Terrific in live action.
I almost hate to bring age into any sort of conversation because it sounds so superficial ... but if you're attempting to build franchises you probably want to at least consider casting actors who aren't in their mid-forties. If you want 2-3 movies out of them or more, you'll potentially get more milage out of them.
Again, it sounds superficial but I think they probably want to hire a younger actor to be Blade. Not that Idris couldn't knock it out of the part.

SECRET ORIGIN OF THE BLACK PANTHER Part 1
Just in time for the highly anticipated film, witness the early years of the man who will come to rule one of the most scientifically advanced countries in the world! Wakanda has always kept itself isolated from Western society, but that’s all about to change. Young T’Challa knows he is destined to become king, but when his father is brutally murdered by outsiders, he’ll find himself taking up a mantle he may not be ready for. Experience never-before-seen drama from the reign of T’Chaka, the king whose death changes a nation’s history forever. Learn about the mother T’Challa never knew. See how the world learns about this wondrous nation for the first time. Will the power of the Black Panther be enough to keep his country safe? Journalist Evan Narcisse makes his comics debut alongside acclaimed writer Ta-Nehisi Coates as they chronicle T’Challa’s rise to the throne – and to the Panther legacy that made him an Avenger.

Sounds like marvel is actually giving Klaw a good showing for a change. Hopefully his rep can be salvaged a bit.

Well it’s good that Klaw is an actual threat again. And it seems that my wish of seeing Ayo and Aneka getting knocked on their asses is coming true. But man, how many times has Wakanda been trashed now?

I mean him being presented well in BP never stopped jobbing outside of the book
Hudlin made him a threat and we saw what happened after that.
-
Didn't Klaw straight up die at the end of Hudlin's first arc?
But Klaw's got a movie behind him now so Marvel has a vested interest in making him seem legit.
-
He died but he was still competent in it
-
Movie Klaw looks Legit AF. Comics Klaw may look legit in BP, Then he will be Jobbed hard in some other comics which makes T'Challa look bad if he struggled in the first place

Hudlin Klaw wasn't even Klaw. Everyone including McDuffie pretty much had to ignore that version, who kinda died anyways.
But there's never any gurantee that any character will be used well. But if he's not even going to be used well on a BP story then he truly is a lost cause. This at least is something. Hopefully it's the start of something.

To us Nigerians it's called Ankara and I have too many of them. I have one very similar in colour and design to what T'Chadwick has with the leg and velvet shoes. Naija boys don't play when it comes to our fashion.

Honestly movie Klaw hasn't looked all that great so far either. But he'a bit really Klaw yet, so that likely will change.
-
Hudlin's Klaw was the best Klaw.
I mean Hudlin didn't drag him out like some Joker character. T'Challa took care of business and avenged his father.
Hudlin's Klaw didn't just pop up constantly kill hundreds get thrown in prison and escape like some criminal from Gotham. I think that made T'challa a stronger character than a lot of his contemporaries. Plus Hudlin's Klaw was fierce. He wasn't the stereotypical Doctor Evil that prattled on and choked.

Movie Klaw is likely a variation on Hudlin Kalw. No cheesy costume, cool robotic appendage.
He's pretty clever and crafty to steal all that Vibranium from Wakanda.

I don't step into the Marvel side a lot, but I'm hyped as hell for Black Panther. Makes me tingle with excitement at the sight of unadulterated black excellence.
