I'm speaking for myself on that Wolverine story but I agree with Maj on that was a bad story and look for T'Challa. There was nothing about that story that needed Logan and Storm to come to Wakanda and a simple quick wiki search negates the unresearched ending as T'Challa had zero authority to let them hang around and leave without a scratch, the person who could do all of that wasn't even there.
That story was like a crappy ass 90's R&B song
I'm sure there must have been some readers satisfied with that vapid excuse for a story and to be frank, I even sympathise with some of them due to the fact that T'Challa had stacked up quite a number of soul shattering losses under the pen of Maberry way before AvX did a number on his and Wakandas collective ass.
Under those circumstances, I can understand how some readers obssessed with feats by any means necessary, would be handily satisfied by the spectacle of T'Challa beating on a weakened Wolverine bereft of healing factor.
Feats by any means necessary I tells ya. LOL!

That stuff got tiresome and drove a lot of people away.
Some got banned but some just got fed up and stopped posting here because it was out of control. I know I took a LONG hiatus from this thread because I got tired of it constantly being trolled.

And good luck trying to post in a thread for an issue of a Black Panther comic.
There was just a general trend of people who hadn't read certain books trying to scare others off of buying them. The same thing happened with the Blue Marvel series. Thankfully I don't see NEARLY as much of that nonsense as I did on the old boards.
Everything from that report has proven true, with the exception of Cap having chainmail armor and the Panther jet, which still have room to be true as well.
Lol as do I in in many ways those days were a very needed truthful an eye-opening experience when dealing blatant racism, passive aggressive/non passive aggressive racism and white supremacy in regards to this site members and moderation.. Something I naively believed for at the tmost time wouldn't be big issue for comics fans boy was I wrong lol , but I remember way further back then.. like when Sin & Freaky Zeke used to post.. Good times..

I agree with the bolded especially as there are currently ZERO women posting in this thread currently, which definitely wasn't the case during the marriage period back on pre-reboot CBR.
Now that I think about it...there's rarely if ever women posting here....
That idea pretty much got torpedoed when Storm's solo series flopped. Even when the marriage was still intact you rarely saw Hudlin meddle in the X-men's corner of the universe.
I enjoyed Storm's series for what it was but a lot of us predicted before it even launched that X-Men fans (that supposedly wanted it) wouldn't support it.
T'Challa has proven he can hold a series on his own.
I said it over and over, don't give her a series Yet. She should have taken on Legacy FIRST. BUT soooooooooo, those fans claim all sorts of things. Not understanding that a lot of BP fans were also Storm fans. I'm a fan, I just think that she is a character not allowed to evolve. T'challa CLEARLY is and that's the difference. I think that the kind of debate on T'challa evolving is and always been based on logic...the logical progression of the character and how he related to other hero in comparison.
So seeing T'challa do some of the things we are seeing now is nice. Bucky terrorized Cap, Falcon, Fury and Widow. Now we are seeing T'challa man handling Bucky (as he should) and out running a super human Cap. We see things like "force push being added". These are not uber feats, but logical things to evolve the character.
The Marriage for Storm should have seen her evolving into a Queen and Polical leader and wife. But nah....oh well.

Indeed. Those threads were major wake up calls. Similarly to you, I also felt comic book fans would "know better," so to speak. Boy was I waaayyyyyy off on that assessment.
Who knew a marriage between two black characters would bring out the racist out of people? Of all things...

I hear you my bro, but there's no denying the BP Appreciation was a lot more diverse and unified back then.
I really miss posters like Flo', UMBRA and the SilverZeal Collective.
Question to all:
When Black Panther debuts his ongoing, would you be okay with it being spoiled on a separate thread here?
I would say that we should do whatever is done with all the other character threads.
