I just read the issue and I enjoyed it. I like that Black Panther and Black Bolt worked together to get rid of the Cabal. Although as others have mentioned, I'm sure we will be seeing Namor and Thanos again.
I liked the flashbacks for T'Challa and the King's Blade. I liked the way T'Chaka passed it to T'Challa who then passed it to Shuri. It makes the moment when she gives it back to him much more dramatic and emotional. I wonder if we will see her again. I hope she is still alive.
Are the next few issues suppose to show what has happened in the last few months?
I also liked how T'Challa kept it 100 with Cap. No Steve, not everyone is going to bow to your self-righteousness.

No, you have a penchant for hyperbole. But I digress.
I figured you'd be ecstatic about this issue, tbh.
I think Steve will be mad but what can he do? He has no jurisdiction over T'Challa.
It was laughable that Steve even demanded T'Challa turn himself in. I also doubt it was just a coincidence that the characters with diplomatic immunity were the ones who dealt with Namor.

Why would I be ecstatic?
Namor's apparent demise wasn't really something that I was ever really invested in.
I just wanted to see T'Challa written well and in a manner in keeping with his established character.
As for my supposed penchant for "hyperbole" you can rest assured that the sentiment expressed in my previous post is based on fact.

I hope Steve doesn't push this with T'Challa because I think that most of the others would tell him to let it pass, especially after everything that Namor did or set in motion. He seems dead set on proving himself right and to heck with anything else. He should have spent that time hunting chasing after the Illuminati on hunting down the Cabal.
And let's not forget that when the Cabal asked for Wakanda in exchange for not destroying Earth, Steve wasn't exactly trying to prevent any of this from happening.

It's like ive been saying in the other threads. IT's between kings and out of Steve's depth.
It's like ive been saying in the other threads. IT's between kings and out of Steve's depth.
Steve's position on the Illuminati was untenable. His sole focus was on hunting them and making them answer to him. All those resources to hunt them instead of figuring out how to deal with the Cabal. This was his own personal vendetta.
-
Another thing to consider: Namor sent Thanos to Wakanda and then allied himself with the people who attacked Attilan. It's no wonder T'Challa and Black Bolt teamed up for this one. They're the ones who lost the most and they were the ones who had the most reason to take down Namor and the Cabal.

Yes my point exactly. His actions fragmented the Superhero community. He applied "cops and robbers" logic to an E.L.E.
The Illumnati wasn't out to chase down heroes.

Yes this is the answer.

WOAH!!!!!
well better late than never. Didn't actually think Marvel would do it. I assumed one of them would die, but for a while I thought it would be T'Challa until his movie was officially announced.
So as some might know I've been on a hiatus from mainstream comics, indulging in Indies, manga, videogames, anime etc.
Somebody please catch me up. What's the current state of Wakanda? Is Shuri still queen? Also are characters still inverted or whatever?

I just read the issue and that fact went over my head. Now the issue makes tons more sense. I was wondering why Black Bolt of all had beef.
-
It would be a shame if Shuri is really dead. I hope she makes it through this somehow. I would hate to lose another member of the BP supporting cast.

Yeah, it's sometimes hard to tell since Black Bolt doesn't speak and we aren't privy to his thoughts. He plays things very close to the vest. But I'm sure that had to be on his mind.

Quick catch up for you...
The Cabal demanded Wakanda for protecting the Earth from incursions.
Cabal goes and destroys Wakanda... literally destroyed it. There are barely any wakandan's left and they are scattered
BP and Shuri went to back to try and get a bomb and were betrayed. Shuri sacrificed herself so T'challa could get away.

.............. I have no words for how shocked I am right now. Lol I was just about to ask if it was safe to start reading Avengers again. Jeez thats a little too extreme.
So Shuri's gone. Thats really sad. Are the Dora's still alive. Is T'Challa still a king. I mean if he no longer has a kingdom.....
Are we getting a retcon or something? I don't know if its just me but this is a little too dark for my taste. I mean I'm glad T'Challa returned to form and did what he said he would do almost two years ago, but I didn't think Marvel would destroy Wakanda.
Dios Mio I don't know guys. I was all pumped an hour ago, now I'm a little disheartened. Bp has had a rough 3+ years. Thank goodness for Liss' run, because its been pretty bleak since Doom War. Sure there have been a few bright spots and Hickman's had some nice moments with T'Challa but this heavy. Where does T'Challa go from here?

I wanna like that scene for being bad ass, but...
One, I can't overlook the fact that really, the Illuminati aren't guilty of any crimes as it was Namor and the Cabal who destroyed inhabited worlds. Not to say their actions were moral, but they didn't rise above your usual comic stuff (that includes mindwipes)
Two, Captain America is asking T'Challa to stand trial, after the Avengers and entire super hero community stood aside while Wakanda was destroyed.
I'm not a major Cap, but that's not Cap. Hell, that's not the rest of the Avengers!

Because you expressed a lot of irritation about T'Challa not keeping his promise. I figured (I guess mistakenly) that you would be happy he kept his promise, regardless of your feelings about Namor.
EDIT: You know, I really prefer T'Challa's costume with the glowing blue/yellow eyes. Looking at the white now... it's kind of meh. IMO.
I think Steve will be mad but what can he do? He has no jurisdiction over T'Challa.
SHIELD has taken kings into custody on occasion. Doom and Namor. So at least under certain circumstances they have the jurisdiction to imprison kings.
-

No dead body, so I'm frankly assuming similar to Namor she'll shows up.
During Infinity for example when Thanos beat Black Bolt they didn't kill him. Or Stark for that matter. They're not above taking prisoners at least if they're of potential value.

for attacks that Doom and Namor made on american lives ect.
What you are suggesting is like Obama placing Putin under arrest because he invaded another country. Namor commited crimes against Wakanda and was served wakandan justice by a wakandan ruler after trying to turn himself in to a third party that has no involvement in wakandan affairs.

Really, killing Namor isn't the MAIN reason Steve would want to arrest T'Challa. Obviously he was going to arrest him before that. If Putin had mind wiped Obama I dare say there would be consequences of some sort.

But, for what though, with these incursions, it's bigger than SHIELD, this some extinction level event type sh!t...

Steve doesn't think so... but it's possible an actual court might disagree in theory if it ever came to that. We'll probably never know one way or the other as the legal issues will probably just be swept under the carpet.

BP should have quoted Marlo Stanfield from "The Wire" when he took down Namor.
"You want it to be one way. But it's the other way";)
Seriously though, Namor needed to get got. IMO, he had too much innocent blood on his hands and he's facing the consequences of his actions.
Granted some of his actions were understandable, it doesn't justify them.

And that's essentially what Namor flat out said.
He said he'd do it again (and he arguably SHOULD given that it saved everyone's life), but he also admitted it was wrong and was willing to hold himself accountable for his actions and surrender himself. I think that hit the right balance as far as acknowledging the right and wrong in what Namor did.

Black Bolt is like your quite best friend who never says anything but soon as someone runs up, BAM he levels em! Fist with Apocalypse then namor, I'd like to see more of BP and BB.

Generally speaking it's fun seeing the kings hang out and interact.
It's sort of a shame the vast majority of marvel kings aren't on good terms these days, BB and BP being an exception.

Yeah, I like that Namor acknowledged his wrong doing.
Unfortunately, his come uppance came at BPs hand. I would have been satisfied with him surrendering himself to Steve and Co and standing trial.
Whatever the case was, I just feel needed to face consequences.
