I don't think this is the right place to talk about some vast conspiracy theory. Lets focus on the MCU.
Well like I said which white hero got nerfed so that a supporting character looks better in the MCU... Stark? Rogers? Odinson? Lang? Strange? Star Lord?
The answer is none of the above. I don't see them losing key character traits for their female supporting characters.
Look maybe its nothing but its weird to me in two years there has been nothing about T'challa being a super genius.
Meanwhile in like a week we have had the actress for Shuri come out and say "She Designs All The Tech" and EW Article where she is said to be as smart as Stark. Apparently quoting Coogler or maybe Feige.
So Shuri gets to a Princess, A Badass Fighter and Super Genius but T'Challa has to make do as just a King and a Badass Fighter in what universe is that fair and doesn't reek of some BS.
He is not Captain Africa.
As people have said, it removes him from a place in the hierarchy that he should not lose. It's key to his character.
I don't know if he's being "dumbed down" or not because I don't see enough in the trailer or online to inform my opinion, but I am leaning toward him still being a genius because someone has to replace Tony Stark as the highest intellect on the Avengers after he's gone.

I'm still curious as to how the new avengers will work. I think Black Panther is the best one to lead but I think they'll pull a fast one and make Captain Marvel leader, since she apparently is supposed the most powerful out of everyone. But if anything Black Panther world will be the new tech center of the MCU, post Iron Man. The question is whether or not he himself would be the center of technology in his world.

As the MU expands we are seeing more intellects. Hank Pym is intruded in Ant-Man and we know Shuri at least is as smart as Stark. To there are alternatives is Iron Man is ever off the board.

I think the reason Carol's first solo movie is "Captain Marvel" and not Ms. Marvel shows that she is the successor to Captain America, who was in my opinion the clear leader of the first Avengers team. I'm not seeing this as a negative against T'Challa; I think it only makes sense given Carol's title as "Captain". I just hope that they don't emasculate him in order to make Carol look good. On that note, I hope they don't make BP appear to need his Dora Milaje to protect him.

That's probably where they're going with it. I just felt T'Challa had more qualities to be the new leader. From what I hear about Carols comics she's been written to be an a hole now. I also really hope they don't emasculate Black Panther with Carol being in charge and especially with the Dora Milaje in his first film.

I read KSD's run of Captain Marvel and just couldn't care for the character at all. Maybe I'm missing something, but she's getting such a heavy push that I feel like I'm obligated to be interested.

I think she has been "Captain" in the comics for a few years now. He didn't need them and Civil War and he was the only one who went toe to toe with Bucky in street clothes. That idea I find is misinformation based on their title as royal bodyguards. That is what people hear and automatically think protection. They handle his light work. The redshirts not wory to stand in his presence. lol

T'Challa and Shuri would both have to be geniuses to rule Wakanda. T'Challa would be more knowledgeable because he studied longer(age gap, not gender gap). This doesn't mean that Shuri isn't tech savvy or that T'Challa takes a back seat. In fact T'Challa becomes king and turns the Wakandan tech division over to Shuri. He still gets involved but not as much since he rules the country. However he has his own lab where he works on his own stuff that he specifically designs, levels above what the standard Wakandan tech is.
Let's get back to enjoying the trailer and what looks to be a massively successful movie. We can debate the particulars once the movie is out but I'm more focused on the overall success of this movie. So far, T'Challa hasn't been chumped out in anything I've seen so far. That doesn't mean he won't have setbacks in the movie, if he doesn't where's the drama?
I want this movie not only to be successful but to portray T'Challa and Wakanda in the right kind of way so that studios will look at Luke Cage, Vixen, John Stewart, Miles, Storm, etc. and give them a chance at a well done movie.
And if the movie sucks then I'll be right along everyone else giving it the finger. But I don't think that's going to happen.

Thank you. Just because Shuri is getting love, it doesnt mean that Tchalla is getting the back hand.

It's not a matter of T'CHalla needing the Dora's for protection as he can defend himself. I think it's more a matter of "there are 100 armed men attacking our king. We will deal with the rabble while he deals with the real threat." I think that will be the dynamic of their relationship.

Agreed. These are people destined for the throne. Both would get equal amount of instruction to prepare them for that day.

I'm glad she's getting attention and prominence in the movie. And I don't see her taking anything from T'Challa. Nothing in the trailer leads me to believe that.

Literally, nobody in the involved with the film has said anything about T'challa being at all nerfed. They just said Shuri was smart and dudes in here started crying about the emasculation of black males.
Lmao. This thread's wild af.
