MCU T'Challa is T'Challa in name only. I think they thought him too perfect and character assassinated him because a faithful T'Challa in all his uncompromised glory and black excellence, African excellence, makes a number of folks feel uneasy. And the killmonger movie they wanted to make wouldn't work with a faithful T'Challa.
I don't agree they assassinated him. But I certain do think they probably didn't want an entirely faithful version of the character, because this was basically Black Panther year one. He just became King and just lost his father, so he's relatively green and just starting to find his way while dealing with a lot of recent emotional baggage. Comic book BP is more the end product, while the BP we saw in Civil War and his first solo movie is still in the process of becoming that person.
The Captain America and Thor we saw in their first movies weren't really the comic book versions either. I think the journey to get them to that point is part of the fun.
The point he was making was that RDJ personifies the character.
Black Panther's success was long overdue and expected by litterally 90% of the ppl that have been posting here since 2008 and beyond. Crediting all of that to one Director or one writer is laughable. Coogler gets massive credit for making an introspective and entertaining movie but lets not go full on Coats and try to act like sales = clear perfection. I see a problem with T'challa...I call it out while still enjoying the place Wakanda is in.
If that's a problem for some of you then you really should have taken a leave long ago because that's how this forum has been forever.
I like my T'challa to be a genius. Not a mix of wolverine and bishop.
Agreed.
Yikes, I forgot about the other T'Challa loss (thus far): no heightened senses.
Three movies in.
Dude Chadwick Boseman personifies T'Challa to the fullest.
Yes everyone knew BP would be a success, however, I'm pretty sure I was the only one on this thread years ago saying that BP was going to hit IM 3 levels.
It's not just Coogler that made it happen it's a combination: hot Young up and coming director (Coogler) bo debuted in a billion dollar movie and stole every scene he was in thanks you a killer performance by T'chadwick, an all-star cast of 90% Black actor's, and a damn good story that wasn't some hidden agenda for the director. BP has been beating records since day one but it was a perfect Storm that came together to do so.
Hey hey hey are you trying to be subliminal with capitalizing storm? Don't try dropping hints on the universe for BP2 now lol. Your powers of prediction are Dr. Strange like at this point with that box office prediction lol. You got the Time Stone bruh?
Can't wait for the bluray release so there will be gifs everywhere and it will just be like going "SCOREBOARD!" all the time.
Anywho...

Of course, if this was MCU, this would be "just normal hero stuff" or whatever. It would also be utterly dumb for T'challa to narrate to himself what he is doing in a movie lol

Some people may not like this movie but I do hope we get exciting action scenes like this. Maybe not as goofy but you know what I mean.
Please Coogler don't let me down (That is if you are doing the sequel).

The beginning of the Black Panther film states that the HSH gives the Black Panther, "superhuman strength, speed and instincts." I assumed the latter includes senses and we just haven't had time to see it. I have a feeling a stealth sequence was cut either from the script or from the film itself as Shuri explains his stealth shoes but we never see them used.

Lol I did not mean to capitalize that, however we can rest assured that Storm won't be in BP 2.. I just had a feeling BP was going to crush IM 3 numbers for sure, I may or may not have the time stone, but I won't say for sure:cool:
As for the past panel. Yeah it's hard to translate stuff that can easily appear on a comic strip, to a movie. Unless we hear Tchalla narrating, it will be harder

It's easy enough to have another character narrating it though. For tech stuff, Shuri can do it while BP is fighting. It's part of why a supporting cast is needed. Characters like Ross or Shuir or whatever can be helpful in conveying info to the audience while the hero is doing the actual fighting. Obviously you don't want T'Challa himself monologing to the villain how he will defeat them while he's doing it... though T'Challa can do it after the fact if there's no supporting cast to do it for him.
-
It's a different type of intelligence, but MCU T'Challa does at least have his comic counterpart's ability to speak/understand multiple languages. In addition to English, isiXhosa, he also understands the conversation in Korean between Nakia and the security woman at the club, so that's at least 3 languages with very different roots.

Is Avengers: Back to Basics canon?

Back during CA:CW, I commented that with heightened senses he should not have lost Bucky after knocking off the stairs.

Possibly, yeah. But, WS was known for being a dang ghost so *shrug* Hopefully he will be in a situation next movie where heightened senses can be of use.
I can't remember Wolverine using his much other than when he sussed out Mystique was acting as Storm. So many movies though I am sure I am forgetting something.
Hey, we should be celebrating that Evan's erased the Black Musckateers from continuity! Hooray!

Narrating in general like that isn't good. You nore do just gotta see or see Tchalla set up like in his Solo with the train and daggering Erik. I think he showed quite a bit of intelligence in his solo

My guess is the super human instincts they are referring to is reaction Based, like how he was dodging Hawkeyes arrows at close range and catching them, or how he usd the momumtum of the Lexus getting blasted to wall run and take out claws car, dodging Cannon fire from the dragon flyer and simultaneously knocking the border tribe away while spearing the ship and dodging it's fire and the ship itself when it crashed, and finally when the train was coming and he a dodged it.
So less tracking and more reaction

Agreed. It sounds like what McGregor explained in Panther's Prey #3
“The poultice stimulated and accentuated the human being’s kinesthetic sense. The kinesthetic sense is the subliminal perception that allows human beings to close their eyes, yet know where the different parts of their bodies are. If you didn’t have this sense, you couldn’t pick your nose or wash your hair if your eyes weren’t open.
The poultice, plus the stimuli of rigorous theological and physical training, heightened your kinesthetic sense. It heightens the proprioceptors and perceptions in your body. That is how you sense where a tree limb or a building edge is, know exactly where it is and never have a moment’s doubt that your fingers will close about
The sacred anointment poultice has a second effect on your muscles and ligaments, specifically on the joints where bones connect and swivel, mesh and respond. There are receptors in these joints called the Pacinian corpuscles that carry the signal to the brain to fulfill proper movement. Somehow the poultice is absorbed into those receptors and makes them especially sensitive…This is what enables you to twist and dodge with unparalleled grace.”
AKA... he just "knew" that the spear would pop up and when and where to grab it to take out the plane, just "knew" how to jump off a car, run across a building, and rip off the tire. Just "knew" where the arrows would fly, ect.

So I posted both fights against Jakarra on my blog. First from Kirby's run #10 and then of course Rise #5
