Falcon got hands put on him by the shield guy and then just did nothing in Avengers 2 during the party scene. I think he even got k.o.ed
He wasn't at the party sequence. And prior to his fight with Crossbones he was kicking all sorts of ass in the aerial scenes. If your litmus test for black characters is now "They're not allowed to be punched or ever look like they're in peril" then yeah, but Falcon was overall very well received.
EVERYONE in that movie gets "hands put on them". Black Widow gets shot in the shoulder and almost dies before Cap rescues her. The entire final fight scene is Cap getting his ass whooped by Bucky and only being saved when Bucky stops himself. The heroes take their lumps throughout the film.
First impressions matter. Hawkeye still hasn't recovered from the First Avengers film. T'Challa first appearance in the MCU has to show him as a badass and show why he deserves his own movie. T'Challa and Wakanda have been hinted at longer than any other upcoming character in the MCU (going back to Iron Man 2), no sense in all that teasing and build up just to have him beaten, rescued, or made to look a fool in his big debut.
And again, there is a middle ground between looking like a useless chump and getting into him being an unbeatable force of nature who defeats all the other heroes and cannot ever be imperiled and seriously challenged. They have an interest in making T'Challa look good but they're not gonna go so far out of their way as to do it at the expense of the ACTUAL stars of the film. It is still Captain America's name up there on the marquee, not T'Challa's. Not yet.
And on the flip side of that, folks keep talking about how it's vital to give him a good showing so audiences get interested, but do ya not get that the Avengers and Cap in particular are already extremely popular and beloved by mainstream audiences, and that having them humiliated and made to look like chumps to prop up Panther might end up backfiring?
In the background of a single panel Master of Kung-Fu #1, there is what appears to be a member of the Panther clan. It's not an action panel, it's literally just him standing there with a bunch of other folks. I'll upload the image when I get home tonight. I'm hoping the clan appears later in the series.
EDIT: Also, Master of Kung Fu #1 was a lot of fun, and worth a look to anyone who is looking for a tie-in that doesn't seem completely tied down by the Battleworld idea.
He's the dude on the right of the Mandarin.

Why isn't there a Wakandan controlled domain in Battleworld?
Why isn't there a Wakandan controlled domain in Battleworld?
Because Doom wasn't about to save a domain that could overthrow him?
As far as real life reasons, I suspect the saved domains were decided in part by Hickman, and in part by what everyone else wanted to write. And from what recent events have told me, no one had a particularly good pitch/availability for a BP book, especially with 616 T'Challa presumably tied up in the main series. Marvel should work on that.

Thanks for getting this up. There's also a panel earlier that I discovered where one of the members of the Panther clan appears amongst a number of defeated warriors.

Falcon came out fine at least compared to Hawkeye.

If you're referring to Brock Rumlow, he was HYDRA at the point.
and then just did nothing in Avengers 2 during the party scene.
Besides being invited, Sam wasn't an Avenger then,- nor did he have wings. He was just tracking Bucky for Steve who is an Avenger.
I think he even got k.o.ed
Nope. Falc, Widow, and Cap all got beat-up but were never knocked out.
-
Well considering the fact that T'Challa is going to be introduced in Civil War, d you think we will be introduced to the dora maladies due to the fact that the doors are always with him almost everywhere in the comics. At least that would be a good way of introducing the world of the Black Panther to the general audience but I might be wrong

Yes Brock I guess. The hand to hand fight they had where he got beat down to the floor. Not a good look.
but I'm talking about Avengers 2.
Falcon WAS at the party. the same one War machine was at when telling his tank joke. Looks like he was so useless that ppl don't even remember him being there.

They might be introduced, but I imagine they will be used in a fairly limited capacity. Dora's are body guards, and I imagine they want T'Challa to largely do his own right especially if he's throwing down with other supers.

Crossbones was part of an elite SHIELD strike team.
Sam was in the airforce and was a pilot.
He should have gotten his ass beat lol.
and yes Sam was at the party. He said he doesn't do Avengers things and was looking for WS. But he wasn't at the after party when they all tried to lift Thor's hammer.
People liked Falcon after WS. My wife thought he was great. And he is a perpetual side kick but his scenes were cool as hell
I think it might be cool if Sam and T'Challa throw down actually. Maybe T'Challa can trash Sam's wings when they fight. Then after T'Challa and the Avengers make nice later, T'Challa can replace Sam's wings with newer ones to make amends. It would sort of be a nod to the comics, since the wings originally came from T'Challa.
He could fight Sam and Clint at the same time.
Would show how much of a badass T'challa is while protecting the "money makers."

Not really. He only got his ass beat after he quit fighting. They fight, its pretty even until Cap basically breaks WS arm, then cap gets shot on the way up to the "controller thing." He then helps save Bucky when he was pinned and then WS beats on him while Cap just takes it.

Mackie did a great job in the role and gave him a likeable quality. I know a few people who didn't care for him in the comics, but loved him in the film.
Eh well that is a choice right. They could have used Ultimate Sam who made his own wings and was SHEILD. Instead they did a mix of ultimate and normal took the military type background and added the community service.
You only have a limited amount of time in a movie available so you create a composite character to speed up the process.
They went with that backstory for a reason. And distilled the best part of 616 Sam (Community Service) and Ultimate Sam (disillusioned military dude).
Movie Falcon was a Vet Counselor/Ex BadAss Flier who could understand what Cap was going thru. Which gave Sam and Steve a believeable in-story reason on why they bonded so quickly.
The bond between Falc and Cap is a signature character trait for both of them in the comics.
Its more important to get that right than the triva of where his wings came from (and depending on which version of his costume he's wearing 616 Sam's wings might have nothing at all to do with B.P.).
