That's how i see it too. I mean realistically given his Track record, it's foolish to think he will change now
I look at it this way.
Coates thinks that he has two new toys to play with and basically do anything he wants, since they aren't connected to the characters they're based on except in name only.
They are no longer villains in this story but seen as heroes.
These are also two characters from the movie that fans seem to like.
That's an easy win for Coates.

Yet I ha e absolutely zero faith that he will not somehow screw them up and make them unlikeable, or make them likable at the expenses of Tchalla
I'm not trying to downplay T'Calla in the least. In fact by downplaying the Adversary, you're down playing him by minimizing his accomplishment.
He orchestrated the defeat of a powerful opponent while repairing the relationship between Storm and Wakanda. I think T'CHALLA did a good job. It's the people saying otherwise who are downplaying him.
Readers stating otherwise are basing their observations on what's been written in Coates run so far, juxtaposed against the actual BP mythos and established Canon that existed before Coates arrival on the scene.
I wasn't aware that expressing a position backed up by fact was a crime in this thread.

I wouldn't disagree with that statement one bit.
But that's just low hanging fruit for Coates to use just like the Space Empire. Hard for him to resist.
Something that could have been used to explore Afro-Futurism has now been turned Wakanda Episode IV: A New Hope.
But maybe you and MoS are right. They either get killed as martyrs to help motivate T'Challa or they are left as benign rulers of a huge intergalactic Wakandan empire.

It would be cool if the new WK uniforms were modeled after the Maroons. Its between those and SWaD infantry uniforms.
If M'baku and Nakia did come with Tchalla, what should they do?
I'm thinking M'baku becomes a general and Nakia HZ commander.
I would doubt Duchess, as I would think she doesn't have any land she oversees.
Does she have a title. Are we just going with Griot now? What's her title in the MCU now. Griot kind of seems like a step down from her past titles if I'm being honest
And they're basically blank slates for him to use if he brings them back to Wakanda.
agreed. this will be very interesting. I'm curious how they both will fit when they return to wakanda.

MCU is princess. Not sure if she reverted to princess in comic.

real M'baku shows up and kills them just like he killed future T'challa.
It can become a meme.
He is like the Kool-aid man of future people. bursts threw the wall and slays

I don't know if I would buy 2 strangers who have never set foot in Wakanda being put in charge of their military though. But I suppose if they do hypothetically use them, they need to give them something to do. And with no powers (at least as,far as we know), it's probably something along the lines of the military.

M'Baku should definitely go to the Jabari Lands just because.
Would T'Challa bring them into his inner circle, I dunno. It's hard to say. Evil Empire T'Challa may see them as allies since he really doesn't even know himself.
Real world T'Chall knows the history and may not be to quick to accept them into the fold so quickly.

I would say they should to either the Wakandan army or to the HZ. Probably the HZ to differentiate them from Tchallas habit sans being white

but doesn't that stop when T'Challa became king. If he has any children they would be princes or princesses. Shuri's got to have another title now I think. Her sibling is king now and she is on the secondary line of succession unless she challenges for the crown or T'Challa dies and has no heirs.

To be serious though,
I don't want nuM'baku brought back. real M'baku is 100% fixable is someone is willing to put any effort at all into this. They used to be friends afterall.
If anyone comes back, it should be new Nakia. But the only real reason to do it is for movie synergy relationship stuff. And with Coates all up in the Storm business... it would take an act of God (or the X office) to do something else with storm and force Coates to change direction.
(Or comcast ruining the disney deal....)
So yeah, I think they are being left in the future or whatever. Probably leave T'challa with some underserved and unwarranted life lesson
