If you get A list artists, you get delays. That's just how it is. Or at least, how it is now.
Maybe it's just me wearing rose colored glasses, but I don't recall artists having this much trouble handling the monthly grind on books back in the day.
oh ok.. thank you I thought it had to do with the high drop in sales. I was looking for to next weeks reales of this.
The beauty of the MCU is the evolution of characters. They start out in one place, but will grow during the course of several films.
I hope he lives, and evolves. It was pain from the past that dictated his actions. He Perhaps he'll lose an arm protecting his wife, or King. He has a new King, and a strong beautiful wife. The future should be a bright one. Killing W'Kabi would be a mistake.
Killing him was a mistake in the books.
Maybe Ex wife lol
I can handle losing a limb for his king isntead of his life. Maybe a leg and arm to make it "new" compared to the other robot arm peeps.

when is that new black panther cartoon expected to drop and what channel will be on? disney xd?
would that be the only reason for such a delay? would poor sales be the reason?
... what is with the "poor sales" narrative?
The sales did an expected nose dive to where it was selling before... comfortably above cancellation.
and no, they wouldn't delay because of sales anyway. That would only make sales worse.
90% of the time, a delay is due to artist.

Who said W'kabi...
Wakanda.
The vibranium mines half a mile below.
Shirtless, sweaty and fatigued W'kabi grinds away at vibranium ore with a sonic drill and places metallic chips into a floating magnetic rotating tray that turns and scoots away.
As part of his prison sentence he was condemned to work the mines as a sort of "work release" community service program thanks to General Okoye's pleading on his behalf to King T'challa.
Wiping his brow he looks around at other members of the Mining Tribe who seemed to relish their duties of supplying the precious alloy to Wakanda but for W'kabi this was beneath him.
He longed to be back on the frontlines as the leader of the Border Tribe where he could ride his pet rhino and stop wayward refugees trying to sneak into Wakanda.
The FRAK was he thinking when Killmonger an "outsider" showed up and flipped his mind against his oldest friend over personal issues.
It turns out later after Prince N'jobo's Wardog journal had been recovered that his whole bloodline was full of sh!t and a traitor to Wakanda and responsible for his parents death.
After all that Queen Mother had done for him and his family he cursed himself for his hostile smirking treatment toward her and hoped to someday be allowed to apologize in person if he ever got the chance.
He missed being a top advisor to the council who valued his opinion but now had turned their back on him.
As he sipped water from a cooler filter his thoughts were interrupted...
Guard: "W'kabi... You have a visitor."
W'kabi was escorted to a construction manager's chamber and unshackled.
General Okoye: "How are you holding up?"
W'kabi: "You know I hate when you see me like this why do you come here?"
General Okoye: "To see you shirtless and your muscles glistening my love."
Despite her firm by the book attitude only W'kabi knew of Okoye's keen sense of humor... She was an open book to him.
General Okoye: "You smiled... Good."
W'kabi: "I'm not broken yet."
General Okoye: "Speaking of which I have a way to free you from your debts to Wakanda's society... Come with me."
General Okoye escorted W'kabi out of the mines and right to Warrior Falls.
The elders were gathered but only those who were there when T'challa and Killmonger had their fateful tangle.
King T'challa had his back turned to W'kabi standing at the very spot Killmonger had tossed him over the edge.
The air was salty as Wakanda's most trusted eyed W'kabi like the sell out that he had become.
King T'challa: "You smiled when he tossed me over... Brother!"
W'kabi: "It was ritual combat... A fair fight!"
King T'challa: "Would you also like to toss me over yourself?"
King T'challa turned to face his former friend now turned adversary.
King T'challa: "You are of royal blood... Would you like to challenge for King of Wakanda?"
W'kabi: "What is this a trick?"
General Okoye: "Let the challenge begin!"
Drums begin to play, Doras begin to sway... This was no trick.
W'kabi grabbed T'challa by the neck leaning him over the falls and T'challa offers him no resistance.
King T'challa: "You only need to let go and you are King of Wakanda!"
W'kabi hesitates and looks back at his beloved Okoye and then at the elders and then at Princess Shuri and then Queen Mother who had her arms folded staring back at him.
Not a soul stirred waiting for his decision... Wakanda as a nation was wounded and bleeding on the inside and he was not the king that his people needed right now.
W'kabi pulls his king back up and releases his grip on him...
W'kabi: "W'kabi, will not challenge today!"
King T'challa puts a hand on W'kabi's shoulder.
King T'challa: "As King of Wakanda, I hereby pardon you of all crimes... My brother!"
Princess Shuri approaches W'kabi and adorns him with upgraded Kimoyo beads on his wrist and Queen Mother hands him a shiny new vibranium sword with the names of his parents engraved on the hilt.
W'kabi nods at the both of them as words could not express how any of them felt that day... They were family again was all that mattered.
The elders have a meet and greet hug it out session, new tunes are played on the drums the Doras start Twerking and General Okoye escorts him on the back of their rhino to the nearest hotel because GOSH DANG DARNIT DOO HICKEY dude had been on lockdown for a minute and they needed some quality ME time together so fade to black BEYOTCHES!!!
W'KABI FOREVER!!! :D

the drop from 100k to about 30k. I was very disappointed with that. and though you make a good point about where the sales before I was still hoping it wouldnt dip that far especially with how good the reviews are for the first issue. I like coates writing and I want him and his works to succeed.
and thank you for clarification I was concerned this was an indication of something else.

You are looking at it wrong in regards to sales.
It didn't drop from 100k to 30k.
It spiked from 25k to 100k and then went back down to 30k.
The spike is the "abnormal" thing. not the drop.

............... fireball?
But hey, new toy, still very cool.
Is the name "Shadowcat" being used anymore? Why not Shuri...?

Preview for Wakanda Forever Xmen is looking good. The writer is getting better. Hopefully the rest of the issue can maintain.

Marvel Knights is coming back!
20 years after it started a sea change at Marvel Comics, the iconic Marvel Knights returns later this year. Announced at a retailers-only event at Comic-Con International: San Diego, the Marvel Knights line will be relaunched with writer Donny Cates - who has signed an extension on his 'exclusive' deal with the publisher.
"I am showrunning this new thing that we're doing," said Cates.
Cates is picking the creative teams himself, beginning with Tini Howard, Matthew Rosenberg, and Vita Ayala. The new Marvel Knights line will feature characters from the original 1998 line-up, and is scheduled to launch in November with a one-shot, MK20 #1, drawn by Mike Deodato Jr
Is coates getting low key pushed off bp?????
-
They updated the article. It is not a line relaunch, its just a commemorative issue.

R.I.P Jon Schnepp
Most know him from Collider, but he worked on the Black Panther animated series as well.

Edit: Boseman mentioned that he wanted to see his character get more chess T'Challa. That was back in 2016...hopefully we get that version in the 2021 film.
