Illuminati currently have 3 members who could destroy a whole planet by themselves (BB, Hulk, Strange), 3 members who invented/built something that could destroy a planet (BP, Reed, Stark)
along with genius Hank and super strong Namor.
Laser eyes on a normal human aren't very useful. Especially not broken laser eyes.
Although, I could have seen Xavier leaving the Gem to Scott unless he somewhow knew Scott would obliterate him lol.
I would have rather seen Scott than Hank personally. Hickman apparently likes Scott a lot anyway and a least Cyclops has been a leader of mutant kind and currently leads half of them. Unlike Hank who just messes up time streams and gets punked by the Watcher.
Only thing Cyclops has over Beast is a more quickness to kill if he has too but given his current faux-Che schstick he's more of a pointless wild card

I'd rather have Magneto.
Magneto > Scott, who imo could fit, but doesn't bring much to the table at this point. He's not a genius, his tactics and stuff are not really needed and he's not the leader of mutant kind, so he lacks the influence there.
Magneto is a genius, he would fit right in.

Magneto would definitely be great too. I'd rather see him replace Namor instead of Xavier though (and maybe once Namor finally gets caught for sending Thanos to Wakanda, he will!)
bp needs to be in more comics. hes better then batman
They're two entirely different characters from different publishers so the comparison isn't reall neccessary.
As far as BP appearing in other books, that would be cool as long as none of the writers are attached to the X-office.
-
You see the different in which Jason wrote BP in OS, compared to when he was apart of the x office WATXM. Just Saying.

I think a tighter editorial reign does wonders. From the X-issues I (John Byrned) read i don't think anyone knew what to do with Storm..post-marriage except to drive home the message it was somehow T'challa's fault for its collapse.
And what a detriment to both characters.
Instead of having them split amicably they literally fought for no reason. It made both characters look bad. Storm fought for a divorce but not for the thousands of Wakandans that drowned or were eaten by Namor's giant sea creatures.
Did she ever confront Namor? But that is water under the bridge (pun intended) Im ready to move on..maybe the whole marriage thing will vanish like Teenage Tony Stark.

I think the difference is pretty much clear but at the end of the day, Aaron didn't have to chump T'Challa out during and post AvX.
And then go on to possibly sneak sly messages into OS #1.....(read the exchange between Thor and Iron Man)

Quick mod check: I know images are important in sharing appreciation for characters and to make observations. However, to keep load times speedy, I request that you please limit image sizes where possible. (For example, a cover image probably doesn't need to be big in order for people to see it/remember it/understand it; a page where you're trying to showcase dialogue would likely need to be larger than a cover.)
Thank you.

Well I have not read any black panther in years but I still have in my collection Jungle Action 1 - 24 were he appears in issue 5 -24 and Black Panther 1 to 15 were Kirby used to draw . They were not to bad .

Is the Black Panther 2099 one shot by Kirkman any good?
I saw it at my LCS today.

Oh yeah me too. I've said it before, Magneto fits PERFECTLY.
And I think having a villain (even if he is somewhat reformed) on the team would be excellent. Magneto I think would be much quicker with the "blow up planet" trigger than the others.
Hickman asked for Magneto correct? And was blocked by Bendis (who si barely using the character)??

okay. Will this have any bearing on the CBR Age of Marvels solicit page?
Those are image heavy and I wouldn't want to beak any new limits.

Bendis actually used Magneto a lot in Uncanny X-men, dedicating several issues to him (the last one directly led him on the path to his solo series). Magneto was vital to the series, and a big part of its formation, linked to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire involvement, Mystique in Madripoor, etc. You should read Uncanny X-men, it's fantastic; and Magneto is bad-ass in it.

It is kind of ridiculous BP hasn't appeared in any of DD's issues.
BP did do him a favor by looking over Hell's Kitchen.
The connection has been established. Does Waid just not care for the character maybe?

Hadn't heard about that. That's a shame if true. Though considering what Magneto's been up to lately, I can understand them needing to maintain complete control over his appearances. Glad he at least got to use him a little for that alternate reality Illuminati.

I do read it. And I don't agree personally.
An other than directing him towards his solo (which is fantastic by the way so far), I don't think Mag's is vital to the overall plot in UXM right now.
I thought it was going somewhere with the "Mags helping SHIELD maybe" stuff but it didn't lead anywhere exciting.
I haven't seen any reason Mags couldn't be used in New Avengers that is for sure. He consistently disappears in UXM and Scott has no idea where he is. He could easily disappear to head to Necropolis.
But this is way off topic.

It'd be a good opportunity for T'Challa to cross the bridge to Oakland! Would like to see the Black Panther confront the name association in a better way than that "I don't condone or condemn them but I'll call myself Black Leopard" stunt they pulled back in the day.

Very much agreed, he could have done both. Mags would have been a vastly better choice than Beast.

I hope everyone's doing well, and I wish the moms in your lives a Happy Mother's Day!
I recently started blogging again, and decided that I would work through the Priest run of Black Panther doing some review/analysis of the text. Today I started just with issue one and kept it pretty simple. If you guys want to read it, the post is here:
So many of the Black Panther were given "nicknames" that described them. What do you think T'Challa's should be based on his exploits in Marvel Universe history?
I would just go with what Hickman had Bast call T'Challa in that Fantastic Four issue..."King of Kings."
The king of a multitude of kings (who were most likely great in their own right) sounds extremely awesome.
I've never been to this thread before but just wanted to say, if they ever do a Black Panther film it has to be told through the eyes of Everett K. Ross.
Eh, I don't think that works well in film. A Black Panther solo film in the MCU requires that we get to know who he is and what makes him tick. In a comic series, such as Priest's run, that can be put off a bit, but in a two hour movie, all it does is turn T'Challa into a supporting role in his own film.
