Storm was one of the main cast on the first Black Panther cartoon series.
That was years ago and before the embargo. Now they're off limits (much like the decision on the new Marvel vs. Capcom which is now going down in flames, unfortunately).
During the audience Q&A section of the panel, one fan asked if any mutants would be featured on any of the series currently being produced (Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, and Guardians of the Galaxy). Stephen Wacker, the VP of current series animation at Marvel, responded simply by saying, "No mutants," with no further explanation. A little later, a kid asked if the Thing would appear in Guardians of the Galaxy, since he's now a member of the team in the comics. Wacker said the Thing would not appear, prompting boos from the crowd. Wacker then apologized to the crowd, saying he's not allowed to use the Thing.
Until Fox loses the rights or Marvel stops being petty, you're not gonna see any X-Men in an Avengers cartoon.
EDIT: Also damn. The BET show was 6 years ago. I feel old.

Yeah, that's pretty hard core to copay for a character that appeared in like 4 panels. I don't blame him though ... that's a pretty fun design.

America isn't ready for the FIRE when that movie drops.
Even Black people aren't ready for how happy they will be. All of us. it's going to make Obama's election night look like a kid's pajama party.
At the end of the day.. in reference to what?
My post was that they took steps to make Netflix "Luke Cage" appeal to black people. Which involved surrounding him around actual black people and black love interests :p
I misunderstood then. I thought you were saying that they added Rosario to make it more acceptable to white people. My apologies.
I never acknowledge the "throwaway line from Astonish" for the simple fact that Wolverine's talking down on Africa soured me on a tale whose only redeeming quality was Dr Crocodile who saw more direct action in that series than T'Challa has seen under Coates pen.
Not once did I see Storm standing up for her husband whenever he got disrespected in the X-books so no, I genuinely wish for her to be gone from the BP mythos post Priest/Hudlin/McDuffie/Liss until a writer (not Coates) comes along to write them as a equally matched couple, or write them going their seperate ways amicably.
T'Challa deserves to find love elsewhere.
Storm's had a choice and she chose to jump into the sack with Wolverine.
Post marriage, who did T'Challa hook up with again?
I get you point about Storm not coming to T'Challa's defense. And that makes me sad because on some levels that is true. I could also refute those claims too, but I digress. My point being, whether or not Wolverine took pot shots at Africa, T'Challa bankrolling the X-men, for however long it was, is a MAJOR deal. That's not something to be scoffed at. That gives him major leverage so to speak. No one can ever make claims that he's anti mutant or whatever bullshit claims they like to throw around. He bankrolled the X-men for a time. And that's a #FACT!
There's no doubt that being with BP does help Storm. It's why I think he became such an important part of her mythos ... it showed she can be more than just an X-Men. She can be the Queen of Wakanda, a member of the FF, and an Avenger.
Not that being a main fixture in the X-men isn't great since it's such a high profile successful franchise, but the marriage showed Storm could be other things in addition to that.
For a female character it's tough getting any traction outside of a team book at marvel. The BP marriage gave the character a bit of leverage to do a bit of that.
Course, all that aside the main reason to pair them is they are both great characters with a lot of potential together. And that's true even if they're not married.
Exactly this. T'Challa is her bridge to the greater MU. At least in recent years. I love him for that alone. They are so perfect together!
