I don't mind Shuri... but it's not a competition between Shuri, stories and gadgets. All three have been given subpar, if not inconsistent treatment.
Exactly, I wasn't saying thats the only thing that needs to carry over, but more so I would like to see his Standard priest gear kept and updated accordingly as he continues on. I made a list on the other page in how it would be updated yet kept simple:
Thing is really Priest gear was the best, just modify it with what we have seen so far and it actually makes a ton of Sense and would be the logical next steps:
-Microweave bullet and stab proof among other Kinectic and light based energies resistant. Can emit stunning shocks ( Hudlins edition)
- Energy Dagger's stun, kill settings and can be shot like darts. Can Change frequency to match nonbinary Carol blasts (Ewing's edition)
-Antimetal claws unchanged
-Kimoyo updated to wearable Kimoyo supercomputer able to speak to ancient tech, EMP, display screen record date (Ewing's/Stelfreeze edition)
Energy dampening boots, absorbs vibrations, can fall 8 stories and land on feet without a sound, with enough momentum can scale walls and walk on Water, can weaken the structure of objects and reduce the momentum of objects thrown at Tchalla. The soles store Kinectic energy and can release the energy throughout the habit in concentrated burst to increase offensive striking power, jumping, and running capabilities, or expelling all the Energy at once to create a spherical knock back wave (Stelfreeze edition)
Other gear:
Thrice blessed armor
Shadow physics in down form
Energy gauntlets (for Dboi) (Maybe just combine all 3 into his mystical/Tech armor. Used against cosmic level beings only aka contingency gear)
Standard Gear updated, and brought up to current runs.
Wakandan Military:
N'yami Battle ships
Doomsday Panther Guardians
Anti orbit assault light Shields (Hickman's light shield scaled up)
Anti gun scrambler (Hudlin's Exploding gun tech scaled up)
Bird Quinjets (Stelfreeze Design)
Supporting Cast:
Shuri
Ramonda
Okoye
QDJ
Sofia
Vibraxas
Ross to some extent
Because Coates loves him some old obscure villains?
I am all for new villain blood, hopefully it turns into somethign more than Stane and Fenris did
Yea, as long as they are impactful to the plot.
Speaking of which, perhaps Coates is going with the "mini-arc within a larger arc" approach for season 2, via Doctor Faustus appearing so early in the story?

maybe? hopefully?
Or he is going with the "20 plot threads at once!" technique agaon......
Even Samson went nuts at one point. Generally speaking you probably can't trust psychiatrists in the MU.
Emma sort of seemed like a psychiatrist with Scott ... we all saw how that turned out. Though she still qualifies as good I suppose.
I'd say that worked out REALLY WELL for Scott as he got a new girlfriend out of the deal.
Him going nuts later had nothing to do with Emma.
Though you could argue that Emma's professional ethics are non-existent, since her idea of therapy was sex role play.
Has Jean not died, those little sessions would have become really awkward.

There is no WoW solicit
Soooo. Is this the new thing? Throw Black Panther's name on a title and make them stealth solo's for other characters? BLACK PANTHER and the Crew. not Misty Knight and Storm guest starring in his own book again Black Panther
Seriously that crap is getting old
Hmmm... Faustus almost gets me to wonder if BP will tie a bit into the Hydra Cap stuff. But since Coates turns his scrips so ahead of the game, it's probably not likely his books will tie into anything.
It probably won't. It's tough to say whether it should. It feels like the natural evolution at this point - try to boost sales just as they dip farther than Marvel would like by having people reading the event read it. However, if their main audience is one removed from the normal comics audience (say they're interested because of Coates), it would probably turn them off.
From a scheduling perspective, it's a non-starter anyway - short of the most superficial tie-in possible and just slapping Secret Empire on the cover.
I wonder if the Kasper issue of WoW isn't intended to be as sort of a hand off from WoW to Crew. Maybe the last page won't be a sort of "to be continued in the Crew" cliff hanger sort of thing.
That's my take.
Since WoW effectively caught up to Coates book there's no actual need for it to continue as is.
While I agree and expected the book to be cancelled anyway, the sales ended up stronger than I thought they would be at this point so I was still a bit surprised.
Few thoughts...
Out of curiosity, was that intentional or a copy and paste error when you wrote "Lack Panther"? If intentional, that's pretty clever...
He has no actual powers. His manipulation is more tech based, along with a legit psychiatry background to mess with your head. He's like a lot of Bat men villains. If you can just get your hands on him it's over.
I thought he was more legitimate mind-control than illusion, though. Given the description, I would have loved someone extremely obscure like Angar the Screamer instead.
If anyone saw Agent Carter, Faustus was in season one, fwiw.
maybe? hopefully?

Goodness, I hope not...

I find it very difficult to ascribe intelligent motives to Mr. Coates. Especially given the subtext in the solicit & cover... all of a sudden, despite the fact that he's been stripped of the throne, he's answerable to the Wakandan people about the presence or absence of the Panther Deity? Are their no priests? What about oh-so-wonderful "Mother" we've heard so much about?
And how nice is it to see T'Challa's head bowed nice & big on the cover, essentially at the feet of a German super-villain.
(Compare that with the Crew cover, where Storm's head, equally large, looks off into the distance with an air of firm decision).
It's just... gahhhhh

It is bizarre more than anything
You would think that, with BP on the title, he would be the one getting the Crew together.
While I agree and expected the book to be cancelled anyway, the sales ended up stronger than I thought they would be at this point so I was still a bit surprised.
I assume Marvel doesn't want to oversaturate the BP brand this early. Plus, it's probably best to let WoW rest for now. It can always come back with a new writer and premise down the line.

HA! I wish, that was a copy and paste error on my end.

Assuming he'd actually care. This is the second solicit for the series that hints at a bigger story, but they are keeping things pretty close. Right now, this is the Tomorrow Fund plot, but without a clear Wakanda connection.
As for the main book... Faustus seems to be less of a subplot, and more of an excuse to drag the story out. "T'Challa can't take care of the real plot because he's 'distracted' again."

All these good questions and more to be answered in BP season 2.
In all seriousness, I have no idea where this season will go or what approach Coates will use to tackle the story. I'm more or less in the same boat as you on this one lol.
I do suspect that since T'Challa still has his connection to the panther god, perhaps he's seen much more as something akin to a pope now, rather than a head of state? One who may have answers concerning the panther god? Hence why some may turn to him for questions or clarity on such things?
That's all I can think of at the moment.
And how nice is it to see T'Challa's head bowed nice & big on the cover, essentially at the feet of a German super-villain.
Stelfreeze was due for a cover I wouldn't be a fan of, so I'm willing to let it slide this time around.

Black Panther title is supposed to be king and pope mixed into one, so I don't mind it, even if it is about 3 years late lol
