Lmao yeesss! I love this. I have to get this issue just for this scene alone. The swag is on a billion! Ugh....
One of you hard core BP fans need to add this to your tagline. If you don't, I will.

Bruh, Coatesverse BP actually being a skrull would be a plot twist I'd welcome with open arms. Lol.
Lmao I see you took my advice. You better go, boi! You better own the power in his name! I'm certainly not here for retcons to any of the repairs put in place for their relationship. But I would like to point out that this is probably the best T'Challa scan I've seen in years. That's a problem

This popped up in my news feed, I thought some of you might find it interesting that BP is getting company.

Very good. I disagree with some of the comments regarding Black Panther but these guys look like they have some very good comics out there.

They talked about the BP movie towards the end. A couple of the writers talked about how they felt the movie wasn't authentic and that too much of the movie is seen through Western eyes. It may not be entirely authentic African culture but I don't think Coogler is doing it a disservice.
Coates on the other hand has treehouse rape camps and yet no mention of it.

wait, have they screened the film? I don't see how they can critique the film like that just based off the trailer.

It's the internet, you don't need to have seen or read anything to say it sucks or why you're burning it on YouTube

Reminds me of when the inantez was telling us that Chadwick's African accent was forced/ not authentic enough when those early CA:CW critiques came in, and my Afrikan ass was like stop fronting on these American blacks like all African accents sound the same. Like Dikembe sounds like Hakeem sounds like Idris Elba.
Then the movie came out and T'Challa was a breakout star lol. BP may not be an African created character but conceptually and thematically he is everything you would want in a street to mid tier African superhero. And since he's from a fictional country and Africa doesn't exactly house homogenous countries, the details of Wakanda will always have a level of gray. But it's more so the ideology of what he represents that I appreciate, more so than the malleable cultural details

It's really off-putting Considering how much work Coogler and t'chadwick are putting into making BP legit while Coates is shitting all over the mythos and they have the nerve to talk about the movie having a Western view...

And when the bp movie becomes a success, they will be to first group of people to use bp's success by capitalising on their own comics i.e. "If you think bp was awesome, check out my own comic"

And the crux of their argument really is if you boil it down is "none of US worked on it, so there's something wrong, somewhere".
Which is the standard indy dude complaint/side-eyeing.
You can't cite movie Thor and Asgard as an example of how world building was done right and have a leg to stand on.
But again they are indy dudes: they see Black Panther the same way a mom and pop burger joint sees McDonald's.

It's funny, I almost posted a link to a certain person's video who thought black folks were getting too excited about the BP movie and should support black indie projects. While there was a kernel of truth buried in his rant, the overall thing was just too full of negativity and side issues ( and projecting).
-
It not like we can't do it all. Yohance #1 was interesting. But the funny thing is he said he did the same thing for his comic that he accused the BP movie makers of doing. Using different African cultures for world building.
Problem is indie comics come out on inconsistent schedules.
