She is/was such a great character with a non cookie cutter personality. I would love to see more of her in Marvel comics but it seems like even wen Marvel has a story take place in Africa they turn to stereotypical use and throw away characters instead of fleshed out and vibrant characters from the B.P mythos.

QDJ was great but the "Nappy Fro Lad" stuff made me cringe lol
Vibraxas was cool too
-
Wasn't it sorta revealed that T'Challa and QDJ had an "Evil" child in the future?

Priest brought something special to the BP equation with Queen Divine Justice.

Queen Divine Justice represents nostalgia...
Black Panther must move forward with using other characters villains and sidekicks and not any of his own because going back to the well will only quench ones thirst and we can't have that now can we!
Point Man: "STOP THE RANGE ROVER SIR... I think I see Black Panther world building over there... No wait that's just Spiderman and Batman making billions of dollars using their own source material to keep their multiple solo comic ongoings, video games and movie sequels with the same old rebooted villains moving forward!"
Black Panther... Significant Other/Love Interest... Rogues Gallery... Wakanda... Nostalgia... Period!
Carry on...

Still doesn't get it but what do you expect driving a range rover and all that

Brotha Flex, right now, Marvel don't care about any potential merchandise based revenue that the BP IP can raise.
And if they didn't get hip to the BP mythos potential to generate revenue for the company during Hudlin's financially successful run, it's pretty much obvious that they're either selectively dumb and bereft of business acumen or wilfully indifferent.

Malice I and II should team up to cause T'Challa trouble. Maybe they'd go after Shuri, too.

Seriously.
I'll show myself out.

Malice I and II should become his new Dora following the trend of him being cool with his enemies.

Blasphemy!
How dare you not like all things black Panther. We have a reputation to uphold as a single hive mind with no individual tastes.

Am I a blasphemer if I said the only Panther stories I like to read are the Roy Thomas, Englehart, McGregor and the Kirby books?

I guess the Myth we all like the same Panther stuff and have no individual tastes has been busted.
On the plus side, we are all still fans of the character.

Nice, welcome to the thread! Any particular favorite Panther related moments or story/run?

Retcon Alert... Retcon Alert... Retcon Alert...
Queen Divine Justice will no longer have connections to the racially insensitive character Man-Ape but will be the daughter of the illegal animal poacher M'baku who wears the animals like the Predator as trophies!
The shame of her now estranged father's actions has her become an animal rights activist and veterinarian outside of Wakanda and potential love interest of T'challa who reinstates her as a Dora in training!
Point Man: "STOP THE RANGE ROVER SIR... I think I see Flex Hectic world building over there and setting up better story arc scenarios than the standard issue ones!"

Can we please stop posting youtube videos up that have nothing to do with anything?
It really slows down mobile browsing and we have been mod warned to stop before.
Any to answer the Queen question...
I found her grating. I find "that type" of character in any media grating. It just isn't my thing.
Malice on the other hand I like.

She grew on me a little bit, but she was definitely quite the Scrappy early on.
God, I remember that. I also remember how looking back he had T'Challa take several shots at the X-Men when Storm and Black Panther were dealing with ... I want to say Red Ghost. I thought that was mean spirited then but now... It's kind of therapeutic.
Those scenes were incredible. I thought it was more of a "I don't know this guy, and he's large and black, so he must be whooping that little white scientist for no reason" attitude from Scott. One poster back then said if it was captain america kicking a guy's teeth in everybody would've piled on. Also, Storm seemed to be telling them, he's a super intelligent hero, trust him. Hudlin kind of captured a little racial tension there.

I wondering what you guys thoughts on the Black Panther's showing in the recent New Avengers. Just as I was thinking that his upgrade gave possible boost to his strength and other physical stats, now I'm not sure that he got any boost whatsoever. If he was fighting a Batman anagram I can't believe Panther would be stalemated.
-
Clearly superior to DC Bat, no way Bruce does not get impaled if Namor tosses a trident through him

New avengers isnt about fighting so any combat will be limited and showing power throught battle will not be a big thing.... You dont actually know how strong the Batmn anagram is and the stalemate helped to show the powerlessness of the lower powered members in relation to the power houses.
-
T'challa and Batman didn't get much time or room to fight with Hulk and Superman interrupting them. In the end I think T'challa would have won becaus of his power ups. But the plot also called for them to either be tied or losing when Dr Stange had to go crazy
-
I would like to see a novelization of Hickman's "New Avengers" run when it's all over, since Marvel is still publishing novels based on their comic book stories. Perhaps in that form, we'd get a lot more in-depth knowledge of what is going on with T'Challa and his King of the Dead upgrades, as well as to more explanation into some of these battles within the book.

I think both the Batman guy and Black Panther had their advantages which ended up stalemating things (which is personally what I would expect from a Batman/Black Panther fight).
T'Challa essentially mentions that Batman is the better fighter. But the way T'Challa was drawn (with the mirage effect) I think was attemping to show enhanced speed and agility. And I think that was essentially the balance. T'Challa was a hair quicker and more agile, while Batman was a slightly more skilled fighter. And those advantages ended up cancelling each other out and giving us a fairly even contest in the short window of time we had.

This is the issue for me I truly think that pre-KOTD Panther would beat or possibly stalemate batman-like guy. Any Pantherphile knows T'challa has been training since youth in hand to hand, and Bruce possibly since a young man. Then when T'challa was older he learned and mastered other outside martial arts. I just consider those facts alone and wonder why does batman-like guy get soooo much shine against our man? The thing I'll give ground is the fact these guys are still alien to them...but keep in mind Panther had plenty of opportunity to see, and study the great society.

"supposed to be Batman" doesn't automatically mean he is only human. We simply don't know his origins or powers. Just that he is "batman-like" For all we know, he is super soldier peak human ala Cap

When you consider most of the Illuminati flat out lost their fights, I'd say T'Challa stalemating actually made him look pretty good.
The score was basically that Strange kicked behind, T'Challa held his own, and the rest of their team got stomped.

Not really. There is nothing to suggest that he's a "hair quicker and agile". Rider was never show to move anywhere close to that. In fact, he simply guesed and used instinct on where T'challa would end up. Very skillful, great reflexes-- but it doesn't show anything relating to speed. T'challa also said he "might" be the better fighter. Which amounts to nothing but T'challa being modest. Both are skilled. Like any fight, things happen. In hand to hand you don't need things to be even to cancel out to have a stalemate. Underdogs win all the time. To me it's just two skilled fighters going at it. Sometimes advantages or whatever don't matter.
