We saw T’Challa almost exclusively with the Avengers,” Mathis shared. He explained that the addition of Shuri will give T’Challa a new dynamic to play off of.
“He is extremely frustrating some times,” Lightfoot said. “He is the king, but she brings him down to size times… you see the value she has to him as a man and as a king.”
Another clip showed this dynamic in action, as Tiger Shark pursued Shuri. Though Shuri wanted to fight back, T’Challa told her to stand down and developed a plan with her. The two bantered together until they trapped Tiger Shark.
“This season, an old foe… returned and actually infiltrated Wakanda,” Wilcox explained. He added that Black Panther will have to take some actions that the Avengers may not necessarily agree with. “We’ll see a lot of what goes on inside Wakanda… in fact, we dedicate an entire episode of previous Black Panthers.”
The Shadow Council will appear in the series, which will feature villains Killmonger (Keston John), M’Baku, Klau (Trevor Paul), Zemo, Madame Mask (Wynn Everett) and Tiger Shark (Matt Mercer). Scott Porter will play White Wolf. Stan Lee and Mark Hamill will also lend their voices to the show, though their characters were not revealed.
Asked if M’Baku will appear in Black Panther’s Quest, Wilcox said, “Yes, he will be a villain — for this season.” He emphasized the last part, hinting that could change.
Another fan wanted to know if Black Panther could meet Storm. “Not yet!” Lane answered with a laugh.
Robbie Daymond’s Spider-Man will appear on Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest this season.

Again though, BP got over 200 mill. That's more than almost any other solo marvel movie. So the money was there... which is why it's odd the cgi were so-so. It might have just been a rush job more than anything else.
Yea I really want to know who was the Line Producer on this film. From what I recall its not like the actors were paid a tremendous amount of $ either. I still think the problem was that the short shoot did the movie no favors either. Seemed like that final battle needed more time.
Two things. One it was a "Small" affair because it was a family affair. All of Wakanda had not descended into a civil war. It came down literally to cousin vs cousin, and husband vs wife with family and friends choosing sides in between. This wasn't half of Wakanda vs the other half.
Also even if it had an epic ending (it did the ending was very smooth an crisp with a powerful message) haters find something to hate one regardless. Haters have double standards, contradict themselves constantly, and try to downplay the significance of BP. Nothing would of changed that. Infact what the movie has accomplished has proven the haters wrong as it blew away all expectations
I think the message and importance was there, but not the execution. Characters were getting knocked around left and right and it was looking like PS3 cutscenes. The T'Challa/Killmonger fight should have had the same craft to it as the emotion. Imagine if we watched a great cgi/fight and then got the emotion that followed.

Still having a hard time believing the budget to be 200 mil.
I do kind of agree with the criticism that they only showed one street of people walking in the Golden City. I actually wanted to see some other ways of how Wakadan's lived i.e Mode of transportation (Like what we saw in the Ms Marvel comic where Bruno goes to Wakanda), schools, healthcare etc. but I wasn't kind of bothered with that as this was the first movie and Coogler probably didn't want to put everything out in the first movie and also for budgetary reasons.
With the already existing runtime, the scene where T'Challa visits all parts of Wakanda may have made the movie slower so I get why Marvel didn't want to go on that that route.
Just hope Marvel/Feige don't get too comfortable with the franchise.

Who knows? Maybe we could get a Dark Knight situation here.

That is key. Do they think 1.3 billion + awards consideration = do the same thing again or continue to push the envelope?
The thing about The Dark Knight is it sort of moved past what worked before it. Everything felt different in terms of style, tone....even Gotham.
You could throw Logan into it as well. James Mangold's style seemed way different from The Wolverine to Logan.
So hopefully Ryan gets that kind of opportunity and progression.
Looking at the concept art you can see the Creed level of grittiness they can possibly go with this.

So Killmonger will be an ambassador of Atlantis? Interesting

That's kind of random. I guess that means he's part of the Wakandan government this time around before he turns full-on Killmonger?
Are they going to ignore Namor again :p?
Still having a hard time believing the budget to be 200 mil.
Maybe all those costumes ate up a lot of cash. Maybe Coogler wanted to ensure a lot of behind the scenes people got paid well.
You watch that Godzilla trailer, you watch that Aquaman trailer (again not talking overall quality of film) you can say ok I see where the $$ went.
I'll also mention Beachler. I'm torn because on one hand it does look like she did oscar level production design work, but then again there are times it seems like the production design could have been better. The railroad production design looks like it could have been better.
The Throne Room....I go back and forth whether I like it or not. Some of it looks really generic, but then again that could be the cinematography for it. Idk. There should have been a more epic feeling about the Throne Room especially when Killmonger entered it the first time.
She crushed the casino and waterfall stuff though.

Big Marvel sale on Comixology. Up to 67% off.
Still having a hard time believing the budget to be 200 mil.
99% of Wakanda was CGI. Throne room, everything
Those costumes and make up weren't cheap. forrest, angela, lupita, mjb, chadwick, serkis, michonne, wkabi dude are all known actors aka aren't as cheap as say Winston and Letitta
talon fighters, rhinos, trains, tchallas suit, killmongers suit, klaues arm
I don't think people realize how much CGI is involved in a movie like this. CGI + making Wakanda feel "real" and not like a video game clean cut feel you get with a lot of advanced/futuristic places.
And, also, let's not overreact because Atlantis look pretty (and also like a video game) in a 3 minute trailer. I guarantee some of those animals, structures, and such is gonna look a bit wonky with the massive CGI scale they have going on unless the budget is 250+

And if you can post a scan stating that Hudlin reconing the ages of Nakia and the Okoye, I'm withdraw my complaint there too.
Nah bruv, that's not how it works.
You know full well that Reginald Hudlin's original 6 issue mini-series was an out of continuity take on the BP mythos and this, completely divorced from what Christopher Priest as clearly illustrated by the completely bald headed and tribal marked Dora Milaje depicted during his run.
Marvel's decision for Hudlin to fold his run into the mainstream MCU didn't alter the new dynamic as regards the portrayal and repurposing of the Dora's in anyway but for some reason, a minority of readers choose to highlight something that's been a non-issue for close to a decade now whilst low key downplaying positive developments for the BP Mythos that were clearly evident at the close of Hickman's Secret Wars II and Al Ewing's Ultimate book which was in perfect synch with where Hickman left Wakanda as regards restoration of Wakanda to pre-Incursion status, Wakanda's expanding role on the International stage as part of the Ultimates Initiative and the Wakanda Space Program.
There was ZERO evidence of conflict in Wakanda evidenced in Al Ewing's book and whatever issues T'challa had with the Dora's as regards Namor, were definitely not alluded to in the Ultimates book.
One can choose to cherry pick whatever one wants to back up whatever argument one chooses to make but it's usually a good idea to bear in mind the fact that there will always be other readers who choose to rely on what's actually in continuity as opposed to Johnny come lately writers flights of fanfiction based fantasy.
One also has to question why one's position always has to contradictory whenever concepts that strengthen the character and his mythos are introduced only to be quite enthusiastic and generally enthused when very subjective portrayals of "hyper realism" are rigidly applied to what remains a purely fictional/fantasy based milieu.
Word to B-Swizzle.
