Is there any potential for a live action rendering of Wakanda and people besides BP? While he'll be the definitive star of his own movie, I could see the Dora Milaje getting lots of praise too. Could the hype behind them be enough to justify getting a series in Wakanda outside the Goldern City? We see them interacting with the different tribes, destroying threats below T'Challa, and traveling overseas to pursue enemies, among other things. They could bring to light the spy aspect of their operations and highlight the diversity of the Wakandan people, while overall adding to the culture and society of Wakanda itself.
It's clear the Dora Milaje are gonna be a centerpiece of the MCU BP mythos and are being given a push so why not expand on that by giving them a show with amazing CGI (like Krypton's getting) and a strong, attractive cast. I guess the reception to the DM will determine whether they could support a series, but with the aforementioned amazing CGI and cast with compelling story I'd say there could be a market for BP-related content that doesn't include T'Challa. I'd say that's better than giving him a crap animated show. Just throwin ideas out there...
Eh I would rather have a animation that focuses first on establishing Tchalla as the inspiration for young Black kids first before trying to do a supporting cast spin off, what your suggesting is literally what Coates and his cabal tried to do that crashed and burned.. instead of looking for a quick Buck, it's better to establish the title Character first, have him in the minds of kids first who grow up seeing him before expanding to the cast. They could still get built up, and then when they are established they can try and get a spin off

Played a couple rounds of MVCI yesterday and while T'Challa isn't playable character a stage set near the Golden Palace is and it looks nice

If they hypothetically were to do a live action Wakanda show it likely would have to focus on someone other than BP, because T'CHalla stories are being told in the movies. It would likely have to be something similar to Agents of SHIELD, where it sort of skirts around the movie stuff directly but still references it. And the cool thing about the BP franchise is that it's fleshed out enough to where there are characters who can viably focus a show on. You can in theory do a show with the Midnight Angels or Kasper or Queen Divine Justice. Whether or not there's enough demand or interest to do a show about T'Challas supporting cast is a different matter ... but there's enough meat there to do one IF marvel ever decides to green light it. I do think at this point, a live action show about BP's supporting cast would probably be wishful thinking... but in the least I can honestly say it's a viable possibility down the line. And that's not something I can say for most comic book franchises. That's one of the strengths of the BP franchise... his supporting cast are more than just a bunch of Jimmy Olesons standing on the sidelines. They can actually contribute on their own even when T'Challa isn't around. And there's a lot of potential value in that as far as expanding the franchise down the line.

A live-action show centered around Shuri and the Dora Milaje protecting Wakanda or doing Wakandan business in T'Challa's absence could maybe work. It probably won't happen, but it could work.

I think the one tricky thing about doing a tv show set in Wakanda while a movie franchise is going is getting them to line up right. It's easy for a TV show to reflect what's going on in the movies, but it's hard for a movie to do that because it can take years to make a movie.
For example Agents of SHIELD indirectly ties into the movies all the time, but the movies pretty much ignore what's going on in SHIELD for the most part because it likes several years to make a movie and a LOT can happen on a TV show in 3 years. People ended up double agents or died or became in Inhumans, and it's hard for a movie to keep up with that. Unless very little status quo changes occur in the Wakandan TV show, a BP movie potentially would have the same problems.
Not saying it's impossible, but it would be tricky to juggle.

Yea we already saw that "supporting" cast stuff in the comics. Crashed and burned, and good riddance to it.
Kids are the lifeblood of successful mainstream comic book characters, not adults (with few exceptions). The reason they always rejuvenate Spidey to a kid or regress him back to a childless wifeless bachelor is largely due to making a billion a year off of him in toys games and other merch for kids.
After the MCU movie, a cartoon is imperative. Granted they are already taking that step with Avengers but the major step would be for him and his mytho

Black Panther might be one of the most iconic black-focused movies (for lack of a better description) of all time. I feel that T'Challa will be well established, with prominent appearances from his rogues gallery and strong character development. Like all MCU heroes he'll be reasonably depicted in his solo film and therefore an inspiration to plenty of black kids on that basis alone. What the movie will also do is introduce new elements of his world like the Dora Milaje, who if given opportunities to show their stuff can be an inspiration as well. The solo films and appearances in later Avengers properties will prioritize and popularize BP like never before, whether or not he gets his own show.
What a TV show based around his "support" like the DM or Hatut Zeraze does is expand his mythos and bring to life a truly unique and excellent African culture that has amazing stories to tell even when BP isn't present. Look how people were shook when the so called "Security Chief" from Civil War threatened Black Widow. If the Dora Milaje got similarly impressive showings, though not overtaking BP, they may gain enough supporters to create a mini series or something. It doesn't even need to happen right after the first solo film. If during Infinity War the Dora Milaje get opportunities to protect Wakanda and be a respected organization within the MCU they might garner enough public interest to justify a show.

Exactly. Unlike some other heroes like Ant-Man or Doctor Strange, Black Panther's solo film is gonna have an institution behind him; the Royal Family and associated groups (DM, HZ, etc.) There's so much rich storytelling that can happen with those people behind T'Challa that could make his mythos more complete and relevant within the MCU. And the good thing is that they have established histories and adventures that can be drawn upon as material for a show. Kasper Cole was practically made for TV. The only thing is if they raise their profile enough.

I think there's enuff material in BP's mythos to do a live action show about Wakanda. But it's hard for me to think either a network or streaming system to sign off on it. I actually kinda think it's more likely people will just straight out rip it off if depending how big of a hit BP's film is.

That's the wrong Thought process, that's the exact Same Thought process for why BP crew and BP WOW failed "oh Tchalla had a strong showing in CW and came off a big event and has his Solo debuting.. let's do a spin off of his cast.. how many Batman tv shows did he have before they tried to do spin offs of the supporting cast?
How many Spiderman shows? Do you see what I'm saying? People come to see black panther, not his cast. Atleast not directly. Establish the title Character first then when he gains enough popularity and becomes a house Hold name THEN you expand onto the supporting cast. Trying to get in the supporting cast While the Iron is hot is foolish.. Why make the same mistake twice? To ride the hype??
-
Yup. Can't skip steps. Took Batman 20+ years of cartoons and films before something like "Gotham" happened, and even then ratings just drop. Bc it's not Batman
-
Now one thing the Batman TAS did great, and why Batman's villains and supporting cast are so well known and popular today, is that the TAS had character centric episodes that even tho Batman was still the star, the specific story itself revolved around the other character and how Batman either worked with them (if a good guy/anti-hero) or had to stop them (in which the villain was made complex in their motives). And then having Batman react and show emotion to these characters, sometimes subtlety and sometimes emotionally.
That's how ppl got to love his Robin/Nightwing and that evolution, or Clayface and Mr. Freeze, the relationship with Catwoman, etc. The introduction to Harley Quinn. All done over years of cartoon eps then reinforced somewhat in the movies

I think that's comparing apples to oranges. The Crew and WoW failed because of clunky writing and weak stories. Not to mention many core fans were turned off by what they felt was T'Challa bashing from old black ladies to rebellious Dora Milaje. Yes, potential new readers don't care as much about BP's support characters or worldbuilding Wakanda, but his lack of presence in those books is not responsible for why they failed.
TV is a different medium, where compelling stories can be told without adhering strictly to the comics and the public interest is all that matters. After his solo film and run with the animated Avengers, Black Panther will be at least as prominent as say Doctor Strange, with the primary difference in their franchises being the fact that T'Challa has a strong, developed supporting cast. Assuming the Dora Milaje come out as one of the highlights of the film, and in subsequent appearances wow audiences, I see the potential for lots of public interest in a show focusing on their adventures. I'm not saying right after the film give em a show, but I do think down the road after good showings elsewhere they could be on the public's mind enough to at least give a DM-focused show a chance.
Agents of Shield came out of a fodder getting a show after some small, but good appearances in the movies. I see no reason why these elite soldiers can't do something similar if they were given the same chance. Just because the supporting cast and allies were written in a poor light in the comics doesn't mean there are no opportunities to shine on the small screen. Especially if they're a hit on the big screen. At the end of the day, the solo film will set the course for the future of the BP franchise and where its characters stand. It'll set the tone for how those characters operate in the MCU and what level they operate at.

As far as a network signing off on it, yeah it's probably wishful thinking. On the TV aide of things, the most I'm expecting as this point is T'Challa being in the Avengers cartoon. But in the least it's nice that the franchise is being developed to the degree that it can sustain a live action show if/when a network is ready to sign off on it.

Its a moot point tho. The reality of things is itll be an MCU trilogy and some cartoons if popular, to help sell toys

Cyborg & John Stewart say HI.
How many more tv shows do they have to be in for somebody to do something with them?
BP WOW was going to fail because the main book DISRESPECTS the name on the cover.
You did not see that with Deadpool's gang nor Dr Strange nor any of million and million books linked to Star Trek, Star Wars & Dr Who.
BP WOW was done with an AGENDA of using his name to get the book on the shelf. Remember Motor Crush at Image? What rumor did we hear about it? Not being ordered because of the lead being black & female. Instead of taking that challenge on, they followed it and you see what we got. Despite Moon Girl, Riri. Mystery Girl, Motor Crush, Goldie Vance and Concrete Park proving that rumor false.

Thing I'd you need people to care about the title Character before you make the care about the supporting cast. And while yes BP wow and crew had Terrible writing and shitty premise and a biased agenda. They shouldn't have been greenlit in the first place. Marvel wanted to strike while the Iron was hot Hoping to make a quick Buck Instead of using the hype for maybe an anology book, another Tchalla centric book just doing super hero things (Really I would of had a second Solo out with a more experienced writer as a back up) but instead they saw people were mildly interested in the Ma and made a boring spin off, Which could of been good if:
It didn't trash Tchalla every Issue in some form
Actually provided answers and light into the inner workings of TRO we didn't see
Have not **** writing, like that was lifetime movie shitty
So again establish the Black Panther Into a house Hold name like Spiderman or Batman, then expand the cast. When you treat the title Character with respect and establish the character, guess what? The supporting cast naturally become more interesting as well
