On the flip side, Klaw killed T'Challa's dad (king at the time) and he's still alive and well today. Doom is alive and well as we speak, and I don't imagine Namor or T'Challa are really going anywhere either.
Marvel's not gonna kill off perfectly good characters, anymore than they're going to allow perfectly good character to sit in a jail cell for any length of time. WHich isn't to say there won't be consequences... the Illuminati and Namor are hardly having a picnic in this story. But they won't be spending time in jail cells or pine boxes. 2-3 years down the line for better or for worse we'll likely be back at status quo.
I think that's a big part of it. Even Hudlin's execution of Klaw was rendered non-canon.

I hope around the time of the movies they start figuring out a way to do more with Klaw. He in theory should be T'Challa's primary arch enemy simply because of their history together. The way T'Challa is around Namor these days is the way he SHOULD be EVERYTIME he see's Klaw. But you rarely feel that level of emotion between them (the fight in Priests book was one of the few exceptions).
T'Challa typically is super in control of himself and everything around him (obviously that doesnt' apply to a situation as out of control as Hickmans story), but Klaw IMO needs to be written as the one guy that can bring that sort of uncontrollable rage out of him. The guy killed you're freaking dad. Right now Klaw often just written as another super villain and IMO that doesn't give their history together justice.
If Batman ever confronted the person that murdered his parents (and maybe he has... I"m not a big DC guy), in my head he'd be using every bit of self control to pry his fighers off the persons throat. I sort of want to see that out of T'Challa and Klaw when they need.

They gotta fix Klaw somehow. Dude is kind of a ****, lacky type, villain

Yeah, he's mostly used as a default member of Wizards Frightful Four. If you're a villain and you're spending most of your time working for the freaking Wizard, you really need to stop and re-evaluate your career path.
He's actually very powerful... he's almost a low end Green Lantern of sorts. But he definately needs a bit of a push. Scrape a bit of the cheese off of him to make him scary.

I wish they would define his powers a bit more to.

I enjoyed the way Priest handled Klaw. Klaw should be using his sound based powers to create chaos the world over behind the scenes. Klaw should be cross between Soundwave (Transformers) with intercepting & sabotaging communications, and a Green Lantern with the constructs. When in combat, he should be a long distance fighter with his sound-based constructs. The key to BP fighting Klaw is to uncover the conspiracies, battle through the henchmen, and confront Klaw directly. BP must rely on his speed, agility, and most of all discipline in order to get through Klaw's long-ranged attacks & taunts in order to get his slice on. Klaw should be the one foe who trolls BP.
That Priest battle would look very awesome on screen.
If anyone reads DC, you will see the wonders Geoff Johns did to various villains over the years. Writers can most definitely do the same with Klaw.
Klaw
Killmonger
Achebe
Mesphisto
We already have four great major enemies for T'Challa.
I see no need to keep the Namor rivalry going.

prolly wont get focus untill after the movie. IF Andy plays him to perfection. Loki was helped by the thor movies and I think Klaws status will be elevated too after Avengers 2 and Black panther.

I just can't take Achebe seriously, I see what Priest was trying to do with the character but he wasn't that appealing visually to me.

Word, someone with his powers shouldn't be jobbing the way he does. The best I've seen Klaw written in a long time was in one of those Carnage mini's from a year or two ago.

In one instance Klaw actually beat Molecule Man (and Volcanna) Granted I think Owen was jobbed a bit there, but the point being that Klaw is potentially a VERY powerful character. It often takes either vibranium or a anti-sound tech plot device to beat him. Unfortunately for him he tends to pick fights with Black Panther and Reed Richards, who can believably pull that stuff out of their pockets on any given day. If he were arch enemies with someone like Spider-Man or even the Hulk, he'd be nearly impossible to beat.

Who among the Marvel heroes is T'challa's bestfriend/closestfriend?

Prior to Hickman's FF run I would have said Steve. But I think Hickman established Reed as T'Challa's BFF.

Within the superhero community, it's Reed. Steve probably comes in a close second. Roy Thomas mucked up a lot with T'Challa, but I do like the relationship Black Panther has with Vision when both are the new guys in the room.
In terms of the Black Panther writer (for the film), last I heard Mark Bailey was writing it.

I see. I thought Cap is his closest. I forgot about Reed.
How about Luke Cage?
