That really doesn't make any sense.
If complaints about something made more people want to see it everything that put a spotlight on the recent Fantastic Four film would have been a huge seller.
Curiosity won't necessarily get someone to cough up 15 bucks to see a movie. It will only get you so far. But it could get someone to flip through a magazine they might not normally read at the check out stand.
First thought: HOLY ***!!! Looks good.
Second thought: "Meow." Mildly amusing.
Third thought: "Houswife would envy." ... You want to go to war for insulting the King, EW? Cause we can go to war.
LOL, you summed my exact thought process when looking at the pic.
Pic is awesome, the meow was....."eh", the housewife thing was so corny lol.
Btw, will we every see T'Challa unmasked in promo material? Seeing him unmasked would've been great.

I think we'll see him masked in most promo stuff, but we'll probably get a few shots of chadwick in civies or unmasked in stills (speaking of which, is the helm going to work like Star-Lord's goggles, thing looks like it would be cumbersome to carry).
I figure they went with the masked look here because that's what everyone wants to see at this point, whereas Stark and Cap we've seen.

I sort of think for the initial round of publicity, he should wear the mask. I think the important thing right now is to promote the character more than the actor, and at this point its hard to tell he's Black Panther without it. Down the line when people more associate the actor with the character, it won't matter. Everyone knows RDJ is Iron Man so him not wearing the helmet is no big deal.
I mean we saw him kicking bucky that sent him flying, we saw him running which seemed to be at 50-60mph which is superhuman and we see him looking sexy as hell in the cover but y'all want to complain about a 4 word text and a housewife reference? what people need to be worried about is how he will be portrayed in the movie
If it was intentional then it worked out really well. I'm not even mad to be honest
It's not the biggest deal ever. However, to play devil's advocate...

People complaining ab out the cover isn't going to make a bunch of people read the magazine that normally wouldn't have. It's not even going to bring any added awareness to it since these covers with the superheroes always sell well and are widely circulated. That's especially true as it relates to the Marvel studios characters.

Honestly, I think any sort of buzz will increase the odds of people checking something out so we can agree to disagree. This is marketing 101.

Black Panther the character isn't established enough for that
Having Chadwick in a black outfit would just be some random black guy wearing a ninja suit
Establish BP first, make Chadwick a star, andt hen you will see his face plastered over everything ala Stark and Cap
But even then... you dont HAVE too. You rarely see Batman unmasked on any promo material. If you make it iconic......

To be honest when I took a glance at the cover, I didn't really care about the line or the references they used because hey it EW, they do this kind of stuff from time to time. Its seeing BP in the same cover wit Cap and Stark and the fact that his costume looks tight as hell. Now if the costume was crap then I would have been mad and for the fact that they added those lines would have put more insult to injury

No it's not.
It's something that people often think, but it's just not accurate. There are countless examples of buzz (be it positive or negative) has sank films either in the short or long term.

More than anything I'm just glad the suit works.
Because ya never know... generally speaking marvel studios has done a good job with this sort of thing, but Captain America's suit in the first Avengers movie was absolutely terrible.

Sure it'll sink films. Like I said, curiosity likely won't motivate someone to put down 15 bucks for a movie. But it potentially can get someone to flip through a magazine at a check out stand they normally won't read.
Like I said, we can agree to disagree.
Panther is a key figure in the conflict between Chris Evans’s Cap and Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, and his allegiance is in flux — although he’s got serious issues with Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier, which steers him alongside the man in the iron mask.
While Tony Stark is known for flooding the zone with wisecracks, Black Panther isn’t fooling around.
“He’s definitely not the life of the party in this instance,” says Boseman, who won the role last October. “I think this is something true of the comic book character and the movie. You never quite know where he stands. There’s always a bit of concealing and mystery. So I think mysterious is more his boat. Not to say there’s not charm and he can’t be a ladies’ man and all that. It’s more like if there is humor, it’s more like James Bond.
Like I said when people first started complain about the costume, they're definitely going to be add cgi touch ups to it.
*edit*
Damn Dboi beat me to it.
