Needs to be someone whoever writes Black Panther has 100% control over.
This is the true sticking point, IMO.
Otherwise you'll just have the character in question yoinked back to serve the needs of the original franchise.
Exactly. If not now, then when?
Could be how bout never and just let the boat sail away into the sunset
There can be tension the few times they meet (good or bad, whatever) but as far as having any focus on Storm... good bye
Similar to Rogue/Gambit like stuff.

Yep.
and a King may need an extraordinary wife... that doesn't mean that extraordinary wife can't come from actual Wakanda....
I think this the last time to try something like that and drag T'challa back to the past. The ship has sailed. It was overall not a popular move when they first did it, didn't get the support it needed from ALL of Marvel comics.... why would they bring up that negativity all over again when the character is about to blow? There is nothing to gain with Storm at this point. It would boost Storm, not T'challa. T'challa doesn't need her anymore.
And in story/on panel wise... the "lust" has been 100% one sided since the divorce. Storm ain't pining over T'challa anywhere on panel from my memory. T'challa is the one telling her which relationship to not get in, telling her she will always be his queen, showing up for late night end of the world booty calls, allowing her to enter Wakanda again... all T'challa. All one sided.
Has Storm showed one ounce of remorse on panel over what Namor did? Anything? I mean, she showed up to help or whatever during AvX and T'challa told her to GTFO.
Storm moved on and started her rebound relationship with Logan 2 seconds after the anullment. And I think she is with Forge now right?
And yes, of course, meta wise, that is because the X-office has control over Storm and have no love for T'challa so you don't see any of those feelings. But, if its no on panel, it didn't happen so that is moot.
People keep talking abotu how weak and milquetoast or whatever stupid word it is for T'challa to mentally break and cry because he coudln't kill a billion people... pining and crawling back to Storm everytime he has an excuse is 100x more pathetic.
ITs an opportunity to fix the poor S#@$ty excuse we got for a ending to the marriage as well as have them handle it in a mature manner. It would be cool if it was able to be played out so that both offices were on board and it allowed them to be together again, but if not then oh well, its more about getting some actual closure in a professional manner rather then have the marriage end in some BS poorly written event that was Crap through and through and pretty much had to make up a reason for them to break up that completely went against everything seen on panel thus far between their interactions.
And why your bringing up the crying thing is beyond me, atleast acknowledge that the real issue posters had about it instead of trying to use it as a jab, regardless, this wouldn't be him crawling back to her, but more so a chance to actually have the issue be addressed, fleshed out and put behind them, and if they did end up getting together (if both offices were on board) then atleast there would be respect for the characters on both ends. And that issue is especially problematic if the character in question is looking for a wife, let alone a queen.
Two characters dating is one thing... they can break up and part ways relatively clean. But bring in marriage, with politics on top of that, adds so much baggage if things decide to go a different direction, which in this case did happen.
If BP writers are looking for a wife and queen, they probably should look to a character within their own franchise. If nothing else I think marvel and future BP writers in particular should consider that moving foreward IF they do decide to go that way with T'Challa again. You don't want the character to go through this again, but unless the BP franchise has relative control over the character there's no way to guratee that it won't.

Yeah, it would be cool if it was settled like adults and not hood rats. But... no one really cares about it anymore honestly. It only comes up in this thread. Hell, the hood rat stuff wasn't even in the main AvX book, but in the off shoot "versus" book. The issue is behind them on panel. T'challa forgave her in the Wolverine book.
I just don't see the point now. Its been YEARS since that issue. Seems time to move on and move forward and not move back towards that **** show.

Who cares what others think?
Of course it is brought up here. Obviously because T'Challa was involved, but also because historically BP fans as a whole have been the marriage's biggest supporters. Only other place the marriage might brought up is in the Storm thread due to Storm's involvement. Sure, there are those that don't like it, but are those that don't mind it or liked it for what it was.
The point is, the reconciliation proposal actually allows a great way for the fan base to positively move on from not only the breakup but even AvX itself. That story was a severe stain to the BP franchise and is still considered cannon in the ANAD. Their fight, though not in the main book, is still very well known because of what happens.
The proposal would also be far better and more in-depth than what we got in the Wolverine book.

The vast majority of fans, both BP and Storm fans, have moved on. Hell, even X fans have moved on from AvX and they hang onto things with a death grip.

WAS is the key word. And the strain lasted like 6 months before even the comics moved on from it.
As of now, there is no strain on the BP franchise. It is flying like a GD wakanda invented quinjet.

i never said it wasnt. Just that I don't believe it is necessary because it is past time to just move on (like Marvel did) and focus on other stuff.

My mistake, I didn't realize you spoke for everyone now.
The Wolverine book Addressing it was ridicules, and again, if they went back because of the ANAD and had them patch it up right, im sure it would be received well, especially if it was done in a manner that respected both characters. If it doesn't happen (probably won't) then thats that. However, I do remember Coates mentioning he was going to Address what happened so i guess we will see how that goes.

I'm starting to become interested in the character. Can anyone recommend some good stories? Completely uninterested in new volume however.

Although he was written well in that issue, other than the forgiveness thing

The best thing I can recommend is Vol. 1 of Priest's run:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Panther-Christopher-Priest-Collection/dp/0785192670/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458144005&sr=8-1&keywords=black+panther+complete+collection
This was my starting point into the mythos and is generally considered to be the best run on the character.
You may also consider starting with Hudlin's run:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Panther-Who/dp/0785197990/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458144083&sr=8-1&keywords=who+is+the+black+panther
This run is not as critically acclaimed as Priest's take, but it is more classic in style and approach. This volume initially started out as non-canon but was quickly folded into the canon, leading to some minor inconsistencies that can be overlooked.
