Coates is to Black Panther as Zack Snyder was to the DCEU: complete and utter Poison. The sooner he leaves with Storm with him the better.
I don't see editorial changing a thing considering how this arc ended and how X-men: Wakanda Forever is solicited. She is the Queen that T'Challa chose. I like that Coates has gone out of his way to have T'Challa voice everything that I've been saying about her relationship with BP and Wakanda. Everything people have been saying against Storm's inclusion to the supporting cast has been refuted by the title character. It's really a delight to see BP & Storm presented as characters that know each other intimately and can anticipate the other's actions accordingly. It's quite refreshing for a fan like me.

Storm will forever be tied to the lands of Wakanda. As the Hadari Yao, she is an unofficial protector of all of Wakanda. This issue serves to shed greater light the events of X-men: RED. There is no removing Storm from Wakanda's mythos, try as you might.
This would have been a good opportunity to break out the Tiger God pokeball. Would have required less effort. Lol

Screw Zack Synder! He's the Donald Trump of Black Panther. Doomwar was the Ronald Reagan. AvX with Aaron and Bendis were the GWB Jr administration. Hickman's New Avengers was the Bill Clinton.
T'Challa basically used his brain, common sense and some subtle manipulation to ensure that Storm would go balls to the wall to protect him and all of Wakanda. BP is the big winner here, not that we're counting wins.

If this were the end of Coates run, I'd have a problem with that. But if he's not leaving the book anytime soon then I won't necessarily lose sleep over whether he gets to it now or later.

How? He found out his people are colonizers, his parton god is missing and has not gotten one clue where in 13 months of comics. Where his his wins for this story? Only winner at the conclusion of this story is Storm.

He's the general in the situation. Any win for Wakanda is his win.

You have a point. But as this season has shown T'Challa as a man is in much better standing. His mental is on point because all his emotional baggage has been handled. He has his Dora's back on his side, he has a superpowered Wakandan team, and he's finally got the woman HE CHOSE back in his life. With his emotional turmoil behind him, he can rise up and be the man and King his country, his people and his woman deserves. T'Challa finished off the season with many more wins than most of you wanna give him credit for.

Eh, I mean, nice try but no one is going to remember that sort of thing. 'basically' "off panel subtle' 'manipulation'
You can write T'challa doing that stuff but then you have to be a better writer to make it "pop" on panel. Priest could. Coates is way to subtle with it.
That is one of the failings of Coates so far... he hasn't been able to create any memorable moments in two years. The kind of stuff people remember but forget the story. Stuff that pops up randomly in threads, reddit, instagram, ect. Kind of stuff "journalists" find when they do a 20 second search on a character.
Stuff like walking in and one hitter quitter mephisto. iron man with windex. shrugging off machine gun fire. Killmonger throwing T'challa over a waterfall. breaking red skulls jaw. even something simple like when T'challa punched hatemonger and told him to STFU. T'challa walking in weilding the IG. Telling Stark "but your my knight"
When thinking back on two years... I can't think of a single, "FUCK YEAH TCHALLA!!" moment. One season he spent too much time moping. Second season he just told all the other people to do it.
This season will be memorable for Storm fans because of that feat. Something that will be posted on rumble boards and used in arguments for a long time. It won't be memorable at all for Panther fans.
You can embrace your love for Storm and her memorable feats without looking at the other sibling and going, "oh, you did good too dear" and patting him on the head.
Wait... wasn't there some fan fiction dude at HEF who involved the Mkrann crystal and a space empire?
Supreme Illuminati is his name on HEF and on the CBR boards.
