If you are going to merge a franchise like Star Wars with Black Panther you should not be shy and go all the way in...
I'm apprehensive that it's just done in a vindictive way to kill off characters to appease certain fans. However, so far, while it's absolutely brutal, I don't think it's done from a malicious standpoint and Cates seems to respect and be genuinely interested in the Inhumans (certainly, at least, interested in Black Bolt).
Yeah, N'Jadaka said it this time (probably not best to call him Erik in this story). When was it used before in comics (besides the original Hickman time)?
Not the comics but in the movie
Would this count as (Cinema) Sinception? *horn*
Maybe not even the actual villain... maybe just his suit.
If the symbionte (assuming it's a symbiote) can hitch a ride with T'CHalla maybe it can find it's way to the Killmonger or something.
I would say this version of killmonger would at least be an upgrade abf potentially a powerful threat to keep up with Tchallas upgrade
Symbiote owned by Spider-franchise. Symbiote owned by Sony.
Black Panther mythos need to create and use their own ****, not borrow from other franchises.
If 616 Killmonger needs a fancy suit so bad, then make his suit out of Anti-Metal.
I'm sure there's already been speculation in this thread but this whole arc seems like some last minute stuff by Coates(maybe some pressure from Marvel).
Let's look at it:

There's no lead up to this story, we just jump right in with no background whatsoever.

Very little dialogue and what dialogue there is is standard jargon with uncredited quotes sprinkled in.

"The art is telling the story", which imo tells me Coates isn't that much into writing this story. I could be wrong but that's the feeling I get.

There's been more action in 2 issues of this arc than in the first two combined. Maybe somebody told him to get off his philosophical high horse for now and tell a comic book story.

He had to shake things up because he was steady losing readers. You can write a political comic. You can write a social relevant comic. You just can't write a boring comic. His BP was becoming more and more boring.

I figure it's either that, or he's spending more focus on his CA run (which, I must confess, is somewhaty better written, although not particularly good.)
Theoretically, pure conjecture, a year spent on a "what if" story gives Marvel time to find a new writer and get them started in the background.....

Didn't cap have an X-villain?

Yep. For some dumb reason.

Yeah. Selene did appear in Cap before.
If he's going to use an X-villain, I just don't get why he used Selene instead of radical groups like Friends of Humanity. Would have been more relevant.

Well, this IS Coates. One could infer from CA #1 the subtext that men can't solve the world's problems, so women have to do it. :D

So what is he going to replace the US gov't with?
If he wanted to use a female villain Cap has a few, some with a political bent.
Viper
Superia
Mother Night
Sin
