Ah, thanks for that.
Okay? That.....how does that make sense?
The f**k is going on here?
I know that’s what I said. Though I’m not expecting much, because Coates, this could yield some potential to bring some characters out of limbo as alternate universe versions of themselves like Nakia.

Depending on where they go with that, it might actually make more sense.

Priest at least briefly brought Nakia out of limbo in the annual. And Hunter. So we got to see what they were up to for a split second there.

Hopefully when Storm and BP meet, Evans in a flashback or whatever can solidify Claremonts original version of their first meeting so the Dickey version of it is retconned away once and for all (if it hasn't been retconned already).
With the success of Black Panther I wonder how many movie studios are still trying to green light that same ole old ye negro spiritual movie!

Mickey "Money" Mouse: "Next!"
Some Random Writer: "No hear me out Mick it's a great idea... They're dancing and jiving and having a great time on the plantation Color Purple meets Boyz In Da Hood you know a Hip Hop flavor theme musical with platinum ice bling shackles!"
Mickey "Money" Mouse: "NEXT!!!"
Some Random Writer: "Okay try this one out... A strip club where single dollar bills blanket the floor and pimps have TMZ type fistfights every hour you know World Star Hip Hop meets The Cosby Show!"
Mickey "Money" Mouse: "Really... I mean really... Box office records being set and you still on that last year garbage!"
Some Random Writer: "This one check it out... Mickey "Money" Mouse: "Secretary, send in Erik please."
Some Random Writer: "HEY... Those are my scripts give them back!"

Well it was already retconned back to Claremont version in the amazing xmen annual #1 so they don't have to address this as it's already been corrected.

So I stepped away from BP early on. Coates was just not doing it for me with the superfluous dialogue and slow pace. he seemed better suited to writing a BP novel than an actual comic as I feel he didn't care much for the visual aspect for the medium. That being said, its been some time, and im cautiously optimistic about Marvel's "Fresh Start' (please don't mess this up marvel...). All that being said, I was curious about the "new" BP book coming out as im a big Acuna fan. To anyone still reading BP; has coates gotten better and do you think its worth coming back to?

No. If anything this "season" feels even more plodding.
But Narcisse's book has been great. I'd much, much rather see him take over.
Also, check out the Annual. That was written by the true BP architects.

For the second arc he started in a positive direction. It was turning into a Sat. morning cartoon story(which I like). However he fell into old habits making Tchalla a background character and giving the big moments to others. Tchallas story has been stuck on repeat. There was a petition to get him off the book a couple months ago.
Based on the article he looks to be making changes to how he is going to write it. But I'm skeptical. lol
