Just saw the Avengers Infinity War trailer and thought this cold be an interesting plot point for a sequel as to how T'Challa's logic of showing Wakanda to the rest of the world leading to war with Thanos and then I thought of Coates Nation Under Our Feet storyline and then I panicked a bit lol.
Please Marvel, don't base the sequel from this run.
I'm praying we don't see any of Coates' nonsense in the MCU. But if we do, I know Coogler won't be putting in any rape camps. That's for sure.

Yea. I've been a little sick to my stomach about this since I saw the first images for IW in Wakanda. I just didn't want to say anything to take away from our excitement for the BP movie. Now the whole world will probably see T'Challa through Coates eyes. SMH! Everyone and his dog has to take some shine from T'Challa so, as much as I enjoyed the film, I don't see why Coogler wouldn't. I admit I am a cynic. Especially when it comes to T'Challa.

And to make matters worse, Coogler is freinds with Coates. Christ man we just can’t win.

Same here.
There are way better stories than Coates run imo.

There is nothing wrong with being honest. You just happened to come across it like I did.
Guess we will find out either in IW or within the next few years as to what direction the sequel will take.
Once I see Black Panther: A Nation under Our....I'm out.
It might not be able faithful adaption but still doesn't help the situation.

I wouldn't be surprised if Coogler wrote stories that incorporated all the runs that exist like in this movie.

I don't think they'd really go that route, even if they ended up using Tetu/Zenzi for their powersets/design. We basically just saw an outsider (Killmonger vs. Tetu and Zenzi) come and try to overthrow T'Challa while someone who was supposed to be loyal stepped out of line like an idiot (W'Kabi in the film, Midnight Angels in the comics). I really think the villain in Black Panther 2 is going to need a different angle/motive.

Yeah, the last thing that a villain in a Black Panther sequel needs to be is another usurper. An interesting angle to go with for a sequel is mysticism, hence why I want Mephisto to show up.

Thing is, in theory Coates first season could of been really good. It's asks the question why does a culture so advanced have a monarch. Had Coates had T'Challa actually doing shit and being able competent and raising the villains up instead of bringing Tchalla down, and showed why Wakanda has a Monarch, instead of being like "Yea its not good let's change it but not really change it" oh and giving his MA a damn pass after what they did. The story concept is good, and something I think Coogler could nail. It's just Coates sucks really

Course, you can argue Cooglers first movie actually demonstrated the short comings of Wakanda's system of government. Killmonger took over Wakanda and nearly dragged it into a war with the rest of the world, and there was no real institutional checks and balances holding him back. Those are issues people might want to consider if they decide to explore those questions in the sequal.

There is nothing to argue though, all systems have flaws. The problem isn't exploring the question, hut the goal of that is to explain why they keep it.

By the by, I think Cap ends up getting the soul stone. How else could he stop a punch from Thanos? Or he "becomes" or "manifests" the stone.

Sure. They kept T'Challa's title as king in the comic and I'm sure they will do the same with the movie. Though that doesn't necessarily mean they won't try to modernize the government to the point where leadership can't be established by winning a fist fight.

Things certainly don't look good for Steve there... and it's almost certain that Thanos wins that fight.
Given everyone knows that the next couple Avenger movies might be the last appearances for some of these actors I'll wager they are intentionally trying to make it look like Steve might die (even though I don't see him going out like that).

Except who cares? This isn't about making Wakanda adopt other countries governments. Comics aren't about trying to make the world of comics as Real to our world.thwy have a system in which anybody can be ruler, anybody is capable of doing it, by Their own merit's. Each tribe (in the MCU) selects representative that they would want to rule if they chose so. That is unique and interesting, especially because the Black panther is the protector of Wakanda. You want the best guy for the job
