There's a whole world outside that area despite what folks would want you to believe
As much as I liked Monica, she was poo'd on hard, when she was morphed into a bitter RnB singer.
Priest did make her really bitter, I often wondered why T'challa was still interested in her.

Anyone remember what happened to Kevin Trueblood, her husband after T'Challa?
I have a stupid question. Why did BP and Storm split up? I was out of the comic loop when that happened

You might want to direct that question at Axel Alonso and Marvel editorial.

He annulled the marriage because she was siding with the people that destroyed Wakanda in AvX
Seeing as they're two of my favorite characters, if someone could make it work, I'd be fine. But that's the thing: it wouldn't make sense at all. Not Emma Frost bad, but bad enough.
Then again, I have at one point said that Jean should go for Steve Rogers...
Of course, this is me assuming you mean Adult Jean.
I actually just thought about it today because I really want 616 Jean Grey back and I don't want her with Cyclops anymore because I believe Cyclops and Emma are better as lovers.
I"ll just have to think further who will be the best lady for BP.

That is a very long story. Let's just say that it didn't get the backing it deserved from Marvel editorial.
We won't know if Hickman has T'Challa two steps ahead until Hickman is done with the story. My guess is he doesn't have T'Challa trolling Namor because T'Challa doesn't want to throw down right now. The earth apparently needs Namor and so, therefore does T'Challa. Just from the dialogue between the two characters you can tell Namor is ready to go. T'Challa is not. I am sure he is prepared for Namor, just not willing to throw down yet because as distasteful as it is to think, Namor is an asset right now.
As far as why T'Challa didn't prep better for the Great Society I don't know. Maybe he did and it will be shown next issue. Course it seems he maybe should have prepped for Strange as well.
Lookahere...
I have a Storm statue in storage collecting dust and I do not plan to buy the Storm solo comic just as I stopped buying New Avengers over the King of The Dead slow burn concept!
I also stopped going to Comic-con three years ago due to a lack of Black Panther merchandise and did not see Thor 2 nor Captain America 2 in the theaters although I did watch Thor 2 at a forced family gathering on OnDemand by default... If Black Panther is not in Avengers 2 I will not see that too!
I am patiently waiting for a better version of Black Panther that pays homage to Priest/Hudlin/McGregor/Lee/Kirby that gives me that inner tingling drive to cosplay over it in my onsie pajamas!
I am happy that Storm finally has a solo comic but in the spirit of Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm I chose T'challa...

There only way that would change would be if some miraculous happening happened whereby I played Black Panther opposite my favorite actress Halle Berry as Storm I wold reconsider that option but for now I want Black Panther and Storm as far from each other as possible!
So if Halle does not call me personally ASAP through a mutual friend I have not spoken to in a good minute all bets are off for me on this Black Panther and Storm relationship!
Halle: "Hey Flex!"
Flex: "Hey, did what's her face give you my number?"
Halle: "I hope you don't mind but she did say you were the best personal trainer in Los Angeles!"
Flex: "I assume you want to get into shape for X-men 20 or something!"
Halle: "You mean Age of Apocalypse... But no I wanted to go over a certain script with you!'
Flex: "Aw heck naw not this ish again... Is Mickey on the line too?"
Mickey Mouse: "Hey Flex I'm here... Listen I know how you feel about this but we are looking for an unknown actor and since you are already in peak human shape I mean..."
Flex: "You just blindside a brotha using Halle as bait... Good move Mickey you are learning fast!"
Mickey Mouse: "I got your kryptonite Flex... Three steps ahead of your friends you know the routine!"
Flex: "If I agree to do this I will write the script myself to avoid any racial innuendos and I will Mary Sue the FRAK out of it... You good with that?"
Halle: "Gawd, I luv the way you take charge like that!"
Olivier: "Who are you talking to on the phone Halle!"
Halle: "Shut up boo I'm on the phone talking business here... Yeah, let's do this Flex!"
Flex: "There will be lots of tornadically intertwined loving so let's rehearse some scenes this afternoon... Tell yo boo that you are meeting with your personal trainer and give the paparazzi the slip!"
Mickey Mouse: "Could you also Zbrush some rogues gallery villains for me... Pretty please!"
Flex: "As Point Man I assume command of all merchandise of the Black Panther so tell the Fanbratti that I also control the solo comic and stay out of my way I got this!"
Halle: "You are so BOSS!"
Flex: "Hang up the phone Miss Berry and get over here for rehearsal..."

Make a book Flex. I'll definitely buy it. :)
If Hickman has Black Panther kill Namor then I will buy all the back issues of New Avengers I missed and retract most of what I said about this!
But in 2015 if it ends with a Slow Burn exit I hope Black Panther remains in limbo until I build up my street cred and assume control of the franchise as the designated "Point Man" of the Manhattan Project style creative team with it's own separate office and an editorial staff on my personal payroll!
Swayze Beyotches... Deal with it!

Anywho...
My brother in-law has been schooling me on certain things about Nelson Mandela that is usually left out of the movies!
Not only am I jacking his nice African accent I'm also using some of what he has told me in the Black Panther world!
One of the huge problems with the Black Panther franchise is that most writers have a limited knowledge of Africa or have very little contact or associations with anyone from that great continent as reference points!
Every time that Black Panther is rebooted there are many good meaning intentions that get lost in the translation because most writers don't know how to use that form of escapism to vicariously live through the character as if they were an African themselves!
Black Panther seems more like a character that writers know of from an outward perspective but very little inward perspective to add to the mythos!
Most world building of Wakanda focuses upon their relationships with outsiders that they are ever so familiar with like The FF, the Avengers or the X-men and rarely touch in depth on the ones inside Wakanda!
If you have ever eaten at an African restaurant or attended an African political function there are mannerisms missing in the Black Panther franchise that are overlooked!
My sister in-law just bodied my wife (Her little sister) on a couple of meals she cooked and looking at the relationship compared to T'challa and Shuri it does not look like a younger sibling could remain ahead of the older one in a royal hierarchy except when they use the lame excuse that Shuri being queen frees up T'challa to be Black Panther!
African seniority is way too serious even for a comic book trying to foster forced concepts that just don't hold up outside of the few who buy into it!
Although I am the head of my household the vibe here right now leans toward my older brother in-law getting first helpings on meals... It's something you have to experience to understand on a subtle but non intrusive level a right of passage so to speak!
I observe and adapt to it because it is not meant to offend or usurp authority but a certain degree of respect for those born before you... He does like my Black Panther statues though!
