Eh, she's almost certainly dead but we already know a bunch of confirmed dead people are coming back after Secret Wars.

Someone did a cool Civil War fan opening.

That's the nice thing about a story where pretty much everyone in the universe died. It's pretty much a given someone is going to hit the reset button.

Unfortunately, she is dead.

I really, really hope Coates brings her back. Would be a shame if she remains dead.

A bunch of characters confirmed dead are already back. We're explicitly told anyone who wasn't in Manhattan when Secret Wars began was vaporized but Ms. Marvel (who was in Jersey and died at the end of her book) or Nova's family (who live in Arizona) and non-American characters like White Fox and Radioactive Man are all back in the post-SW books.
That suggests the reset button will be hit at the end of the event.
Because she is a villian. Again, and is Heroes for Hire Villian (she has been for Cap too). She will ultimately be a villian in that section of Marvel. I just don't see a positive outcome, where low key trolling would not occur.
But here's the thing.
There's ZERO reason why she has to remain a villain if a writer with imagination decides to craft a tale of redemption around her.
I choose to imagine that if her character was introduced to the reality of Wakanda, her whole mindstate would change as she'd be amongst peers.
I give no fraks about the pettiness of trolls and haters.
But it's only troll bait if people who don't like T'Challa are reading his book. T'Challa stomped Logan who Storm hooked up with after the marriage ended. But BP fans aren't throwing that out there. Storm got stomped by Valkrie but T'Challa fans aren't trolling Storm about it. I honestly don't care about the opinions of people who don't like T'Challa.
No title, story or relationship should be catered to what they may or may not do. It's not about them.
Agreed 1000%.

Still doesn't guarantee that's she's coming back. All we know for sure is that T'Challa and Wakanda, in some way, shape or form, will be coming back.
Beyond that, we'll have to wait and see.

If Wakanda is back then I would imagine some parts of the story are getting overwritten. I can't imagine Coates wants to deal with any of that, nor does Marvel when pushing T'Challa for a movie. If they're really trying to hook new readers they're gonna simplify the status quo, and I don't see them doing that with the bombed out and depopulated ruins of the country.
I predict we will see Wakanda more or less restored with T'Challa as king again.

Shuri's return will be the final deal breaker for me as far as Coates Black Panther book.
No Shuri and I won't even pick it up.
Frak a sausage fest.

The nice thing though about T'Challa's King of the Dead powers is that even if they decide that Shuri should stay dead, she still can show up in stories since T'Challa can communicate with previous Black Panthers.
So I think be it a force ghost or a living breathing person, the option to use her in some form is there. Really the only reason we shouldn't see her in some capacity is if the author decides simply to not use her (which is a possibility unfortunately... BP supporting cast often don't make it to the next run).

Just my opinion, but where does this take place? Surely not in Panther book. And people would be upset, just like they have for everything else they feel, when a writer doesn't write T'challa like they wanted. Only, I promise it would end up like I'm saying.
-
Even if Shuri wasn't a particularly viable character I do think she's become prominent enough to at least warrant a mention in the series. I'm sure she'll be acknowledged in some capacity (whether in mention or person).

For the most part, when people get upset about this sort of stuff it's like 6 guys on an internet board blogging. THe majority of readers really don't care about this sort of stuff... the majority probably don't even know who Nightshade is. She's done a few things here and there, but has mostly been out of the spotlight for awhile.
Use her or not use it, it's unlikely it'll really be a big deal either way.
-
I'm talking about writers, trolling. She is still a villian. With the Netflix shows and Marvel street revivals, ultimately she will be used there as a villian. Again, I'm positive they would troll Storm curb stopping her.

They could have flirtatious interactions.
Emma Frost was a villain that got stomped by Storm and Jean Grey. Look at her now.
I'm not reading any X-Books so I really don't care about what an X-writer does. If the BP writer tells a great story about a relationship between T'Challa and Nightshade or Princess Zanda then I'm all about it.

Where as i dont think Okoye would be a good fit for T'Challa due to her age, I do think her and Queen Divine Justice should make an appearance back into T'Challa's supporting cast. Though i think they should have him take a look at a Wakandan love interest and just play it out to see how it goes.
