Nah, T chaka death will be felt in the solo. Especially with T'challa trying to fill his shoes.
It will be felt but not on an emotional level. Not like it would be if the movie was out in November.
This is why I keep saying that, instead of Shuri getting extra attention, the attention would be spread to Ramonda/W'kabi/S'yan instead. I want to see the "old guard" and how they are reacting to not only their king being killed (likely the first killed King in Wakandan's history) but also moving from Isolated to part of the world. That, to me, is more important and interesting that seeing 20 minutes of Shuri whoop on people.
(not saying Shuri isn't in the movie but it is minimal, just enough so people remember shes there so when BP 2 rolls around, she becomes more fo the focus)
You know what's funny to me? When some folk were complaining about how some other character(s) were being used to prop BP up. Don't see any of those characters around and BP is doing well in movies and in comics.
I think i saw one of themin the background of some trailer
everyting I see that posted though

Yup.
And the whole prop up by other characters who can't sell themselves by the way, was always bogus.
Panther is different from Blade. I think with his solo and similar performance to CWin the Avengers flick he will become pretty iconic.
I just want some video games. One using the Assassin Creed Engine should work!
Count me in as a regular again. Between Black Panther and Age of Marvels, I should be around more often.

Funny thing is so far I'm not sure there's a whole lot of reason to be outraged, on the movie side of things at least. It's weird how that works sometimes.
Can you imagine this thread if they hired some no name, random director.....
Then invite them over to HEF instead and lets get this Wakandan Palace Party rocking like it's 1999. (RIP Prince)

Hopefully at Comic Con.
That would be great timing.
I'm frankly surprised we know as much about the BP movie and casting as we do. I feel like I know almost as much about the BP movie as I do the Dr. Strange movie, and the former is years away while the later comes up in just a couple months.
They've said all the right things without giving away much details. Also made a couple great casting additions without actually identifying the characters to be played, other than vague rumors. In a sense we know a good amount but in another sense we still don't know anything. I applaud them so far with their strategy.

Yup. They said they're close to finding a Captain Marvel actress so my guess is they will have some announcements about CM and the Black Panther movie.

I def see what you are saying but with all due respect, you are somewhat misconstruing what I and others have saying via the bold.
No one is saying that Shuri should simply whoop ass with whatever screen time that she has. I specifically mentioned in previous posts that there's more to Shuri than just being a fighter (even those I've been debating have agreed on that fact) and that I hope that those elements are shown via good dialogue, good actions scenes and good moments, especially in her current portrayal shown in comics. I even mentioned that it can all be done ala Poe Dameron, who only got 9 (very effective) minutes of screen time.
I know that it may appear like I'm nitpicking, but I had to make that very clear. This isn't about showcasing Shuri's fighting skills over and over again. There's more to her than that.

Funny thing is I never even heard of the Russo brothers until they signed on to do Winter Soldier. And now they're ARGUABLY considered responsible for the best movies in the MCU.
But yeah... with the BP movie I think they needed to get a big name african or african-american director.

The whole argument that Storm of the X-Men was poached into the BP mythos to "prop up T'Challa" and "bolster sales" on his "failing book" was always a BS assertion bandied about by a clueless minority who chose to ignore the fact that Reginald Hudlin's original six issue Who Is The Black Panther mini-series sold so well that it was turned into a monthly ongoing.
Ororo's induction into the BP mythos merely led on from seeds Claremont himself laid down in the 80's but to hear some of these readers tell it, Hudlin just woke up one morning and decided to "steal" Storm from the X-books. LOL!
It's funny how when they got Storm back, her solo book sold triple lead despite being written by Greg Pak.
Makes one wonder where all those "fans" clamouring for Ororo's "rescue" from the BP Mythos went when they finally got their wish?
Now T'Challa and all things BP related are trending hardcore in the wake of the characters MCU debut.
Who's propping up who now?
I'm not a fan of the current arc but having a BP book top sales, him be in a smash hit on the screen and a solo film with some top talent is sweet.
I detest the current book but remain pleased with it's current status at the top of the charts.
T'Challa's debut in CA:CW was a dream come true.
Now we just need some cool merchandise and swag to go along with it.
I'd definitely put money down for that.

I want some cool action figures. And I can't wait for the Blu-ray to come out to get all the deleted scenes and commentary. I know, the movie hasn't come out yet but I love listening to commentary from the actors and directors about the movies. I tend to look forward to the Blu-ray more than the movies sometimes, lol.
