Oh man this made me laugh harder then it should have.. I really hope in civil war, they should a sora or two, or better yet. A Dora and Shuri. Even if it was just a glimpse of them. That would give hope that shuri will not fade into non existence for the BP mythos

I'm glad I was able to make you laugh.
As for Shuri fading into non-existence, that will only happen if her enthusiasts sit back and let her get killed of written out of the BP mythos.

it would be nice if someone could kindly ask Coates to be sure not to forget a good supporting character found in Shuri, or even Ewing for that matter, as Shuri could be a stand in chieftain when T'Challa is out in space or handling business outside of Wakanda.

If Coates opts for the sausage fest approach that obtained before Hudlin introduced Shuri, I won't touch the book even if my life depended on it.
Shuri aquitted herself as a true Black Panther should, putting her people and her nation first in everything.
She led from the front and was unnapologetically Wakandan to the core.
T'Challa the supposed genius level intellect and uber-prepped strategist secretly invited a clandestine group comprised of outsiders and a confirmed enemy of the Wakanda Nation state (Namor) onto Wakandan soilm to "solve" a problem that he opted not to share with his sister, the Queen or anyone else of importance within Wakanda.
I know who I'd much rather prefer on Wakanda's throne.

That was probably wish projection on the part of some of those viewers.

Well hopefully Coates gives us a Priest/Hudlin Panther and not the PIS Panther Hickman has shown us. I get that sometimes you might need to make an alteration or two ofba characters normal behavior in order to make a story engaging and have it roll smoothly (though even that should be kept to a minimum, especially if the things your changing are huge, defining attributes that should never be changed) but Hickman went way over the top.
T'Challa was defined as one of the most honest men you would ever meet in Priest's run. He isn't arrogant and wouldn't try to solve the incursion issue alone with the Illuminati, and especially wouldn't allow Namor into necropolis without telling Shuri. What he would do is let her know and together, they would secretly plot to lure Namor ninto a false sense of security and then take him and Atlantis down in one swoop. Whether they accomplished both would depend of course but the attributes displayed in ED, TrO and Sw, are not only the worst attributes given to T'Challa, but they aren't even attributes he has been established to have. Queen Shuri is as vital to a BP book as Alfred or Comissioner Gordan is to a Batman book.Hudlin made a lasting character.

I blame the whack-ass editors who referred to the location as "The African Coast" instead of South Africa or the specific city. Imagine being that vague with any other continent. Imagine Iron Man opening up with a caption like "Somewhere in North America."

By making Shuri Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda he essentially made her vital to the franchise. I think the real test will be if she's still used IF she loses those roles. The next BP book will be the real test.
Priest could not have characterized Shuri because at the time he was writing she did not exist. With two Panthers, is it any wonder one was written with attributes that eclipsed that of the original? And as far as the crying goes, I wish the illustrator had shown a more stoic T'Challa, cuz the diologue was not unbecoming of the T'Challa that once existed. And the big fault I still find in Hickman's dead panthers is that they were all of the same mind. How ridiculous. Read history and find all the different personalities of various kings and emperors not only in the various centuries of their own countries existance, but different ideals in sequence. 10,000 years of wakandan rulers, roughly 100-200, and they all agree with T'Chaka. Pffft.

Hickman chose to write T'Challa and his ancestors in a manner that suited the story he wanted to tell.
Prior to Hickman there was nothing like the Necropolis in existence anywhere in Wakanda.
In fact, why the concept of a burial ground associated with ancient Greece would have any place in Wakanda is totally beyond comprehension.
But hey, what does actual relevance and cultural accuracy have to do with anything?
