The whole saga is probably going to get time warped back to how thing were before. That's a problem with serial comics, nothing happens or when things do happen it's a issue. I prefer things to happen and that the heroes face dire and serious challenges. Like Marvell said, it's the pay off that matters.
While it might not seem like it, T'challa being front and center and a part of this saga is really a first for the character. This is a push, it's part of it and it will only escalate.
I think Hickman is going to make a lot of people eat crow. Wakanda and T'challa curb stomping would do nothing for anyone (or the character) other then dire hard fans. But having him struggle and then conquer something that caused issues for some of the best Marvel characters and he actually manages to conquer...would do much more. Heroes are only as good as the challenges that face. For me at least.

Momentous news! Enough to make me register. I salute all the Panther fanatics I have read from all these years. It's a fantastic day!
Thanks. And it is Tremendous news.
I dont know what to do with myself...I've never had a Comic book day with no complaints. lol

Boseman knew he was T'Challa back in August. Bank on it

Also who should Stan Lee cameo as? A Wakandan chieftain? ;)
I literally did not think a movie would happen. I am as shocked over this like I was when Obama won his first and 2nd Presidency.
Or When I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and really enjoyed it. not much of a cosmic genre fan--tho I did read FF, Nova and Rom back in the day.
Oh an eventually the Annihilation Saga. So i guess I am somewhat of a fan.
Me too! And agreed with GOTG.

I really really really hope not. I keep hoping for some magical other way things get "put back" at the end.
But man... Hickman is diong to much damage across the MCU and changing so much there has to be a reset button somewhere.
Plus with the time gem floating around...
-
Stan should have a real moment or something. More then just a joke line
Just got giddy again when I remembered bp will be in cap3. 1 less year to see the man on screen!
So much for us to look forward to and do till then. Director news. Casting. We will all start piecing together a story from there. We will probably need a dedicated "Black panther the motion picture" thread. The soundtracks already been brought up. Gotg awesome mix opened that can of worms. Let's not forget all the other cross media we have potential Panther brand exposure to. Bet your ass Stephen whacker will have t'challa, carol, & inhumans on cartoons.
We'll need to pour over concept art. Wakanda WILL appear or be worked into marvels agent of shield. We are gonna start seeing some serious marketing. Not to mention what I hope to be a "Obama" like rallying cry from the african American community embracing the positive things to be drawn from
Oh sweet baby Jesus wait till we get to the time where they are putting the gawd damn black panther blue ray with commentary tracks

I see this as right now in the middle of his story folks is going in on him like they did to Tarentino when he did Jackie Brown. Folks wrote him off until Kill Bill dropped and folks was back on the bandwagon and once we get to the end if Hickman pulls it off kats nights be like "yo........he did that"

Hey my Wakandan peeps! Long time no see. Hope everyone is doing well. ;)
What an epic day of announcements.... super excited that we'll be seeing T'Challa on the big screen! I think Boseman was a very wise pick. Between watching the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and checking out the movie line up for Marvel's phase 3, I am too hype!
-
One of the great things about that announcement is that Marvel will focus on more Black Panther comics, toys, statues and other merchandise. We will eventually get a Black Panther solo comic again. Not only that but we will also get new action figures, statues, T-shirts, posters, etc. Too bad it is 3 years away so we will have to wait until at least Cap 3 when the hard push is going to happen. My prediction is that Cap shield gets broken in Age of Ultron, then BP repairs it in a Age of Ultron teaser or in Cap 3.
Hickman did state that he would be making some changes to T'Challa in order to streamline BP for now we know, movie use. Maybe that is why Wakanda golden city is decimated. We will see what else is in store.
I cannot wait all the BP stories we will get to experience soon! :D
-
I'm happy for the Black Panther movie news and I like the way his Panther suit looks. I look forward to seeing him in Cap 3 and I'm overly excited for his own movie. I hope Shuri also appears and has some nice fighting roles for herself. I wonder if Cap 3 will serve as T'Challa's origin, with the movie starting with T'Challa as Prince and T'Chaka still as BP. Then sometime during the movie T'Chaka dies and so T'Challa dons the Panther suit and becomes King by the end. Then when T'Challa's own film comes out, it can be about him as the new King of Wakanda.

How exactly does the decimation of Wakanda constitute as any type of "streamlining" to make the concept of a Black Panther movie viable?
There was nothing wrong with the BP Mythos in the first place pre-Hickman.

so out of the illuminati who is really the most dominating figure/poweful?

Congratulations guys! You deserve it!

I hope it does not mean some terrible re-imaging of Wakanda; changing the African sovereign nation to a small clan.
Because that is the first thing I think.
The mythos are fine and should be adapted as they are, and even though none of the Marvel studio films are 100% true to source, Wakanda being an actual country needs to remain true.

Just wanted to pop in and express my elation for the film(s).
It's. About. Damn. Time.

I'm 100% with you on this friend Maverick, which is why I remain cautious and not too quick to engage in joyful cartwheels at this juncture moving forward. :)

So anyone got some concept art that shows what they Want Wakanda to look like.

PEACE WAKANDANS! I am pleased with the BP film in the works, it appears to have caught the attention of none fans as well! three years until the movie and folks still talking crazy!

U got love c..... some white people as if the Black Panthers and the KKK are in any way equivalent. Did the Black Panthers even kill a single white person not counting self defense?

That person obviously doesn't know that Marvel created their Black Panther before the radical organization was formed.
-
no no no, people like her are good. They only bring more atention to the movie.
And I got off work tired and beat down to read about this announcement tonight. I see it on facebook and get chills then check twitter and Panther is trending hard as I type this.
Glorious day. As silly as it sounds i have the same elation I had when Obama pulled off his election.
Denzel for t'chaka
Michael Jai White as Killmonger
Mathew Mchonehy as White Wolf
let's goooo!
That person obviously doesn't know that Marvel created their Black Panther before the radical organization was formed.
The person concerned probably doesn't care about salient fact like that because it's easier to peddle faux outrage as opposed to opinion based on actual reality.
Anyone genuinely interested in finding out about the Black Panther Mythos merely needs to refer to Wikipedia.

The marvel movies seem to stay pretty true to the comic mythos. If he were just being featured in another character's movie then I think u would have a great reason to be cautious, but this is his film. I think they will make all who adore the character and his mythos proud.

And even if the character was made after the black liberation movement the character has nothing to do with the organization. It was a complete and utterly inappropriate comment and comparison to make.

We've known and been saying for years that this type of dumbassery would appear once a Black Panther movie was announced.
I actually find it more grating that it's going to result it more idiots not realizing what the Black Panther party actually was and did.

I'm so happy.
Also, this will almost certainly result in a black panther ongoing at marvel! Start thinking about creative teams and who should direct the movie folks!

Those ignorant people will go to see it anyway....
Not worried at all. It's the typical crowd that doesn't want to see any brown people added to any thing

the more outlandish and ignorant the unfans present themselves as, the better
anyone know of any good quality, full length recordings of the full event yesterday? kinda suprised marvel didnt film it
