okay we less than a million away from $700M domestic. Come on people!
It's not going to make it unless Disney does a push and expands theatre count or a double feature in Drive-In like they did for A Wrinkle in Time. The drops are greater than 40% past 2 weekends to guarantee it. With this weekend close to a 60% drop.
The dream is dead.
Maybe if Disney re-releases later on in the year for their Oscar push. But I don't think Disney has ever done that before.
Jackson Guice is obviously a veteran of the comics industry, but I really liked the art in that book. If he drew it in that style, I made the argument that he should replaced Gaydos in a Jessica Jones book.
guice drew a good panther habit. Too bad we didn't actually see him in action. But hey we got him singing r&b songs at least

If BP is less than 200K away; I believe that is very doable! What a great way to spend the morning of the 4th /since a lot of Americans are off that day/. Take your granny to see T'Challa, she will thank you for it. :)
It's about as permanent as Stark incorporating mother boxes into his armor. In theory he should be boom tubing around the MU, but in practice once the story was over Stark returned to status quo.
I don't read Batman but I'm 100% sure he's not flying around Gotham city beating the crap out of Joker or Bane in Darkseid Buster armor. I'm pretty sure he's not even wearing it in Justice League. Again, stuff like that is fine for a single story, but you don't necessarily want to alter the status quo of a character.
Motherboxes do not exist in the MU.

Spear is just a new look energy dagger.
Which begs the question, why does it even exist?
At least the daggers make perfect sense with the suit as it functions now.
It is a minor thing, but until the spear actually does something magical, then I'm not going ot get too excited about it.

T'Challa used it to threaten one of the previous Panthers. I don't think energy daggers can effect force ghosts (though I could be wrong), so I think it at least implies that it can effect magical beings that conventional weapons cannot.
I do think there's a degree of redundancy to some of T'Challa's aresonal (claws, daggers, purple boxing gloves), but due to the nature of the spear and the fact that he can seemingly will it into and out of existance out of thin air I'd actually say it's unique enough to stand apart. I would like to see the spear do more though. We still don't know much about it.

The Spear (much like Coates insipid writing) all spectacle, no substance.

We've seen the spear hurt zero force ghosts.
Ain't like Best Dude BP-Fal went "oh no, the mystical spear of legend! nevermind bruh!"
And, I'll take your hypothetical Wakandan force ghost and raise you the ghost of the Shaper of World

I'm not saying the energy dagger doesn't necessarily have bigger feats ... what I'm saying is that it may have applications energy daggers don't. Ghosts don't have physical forms, so energy daggers might might not effect them.
It adds a purely magical element to his tools which he arguably has been lacking, so it rounds out his toolset a bit better.
And because it seems to be a innate ability rather than gear, he pretty much has access to it 24/7. He doesn't always have the daggers or the claws but he theoretically should always have the spear.

Fixed and emphasized for you.
Right now the only "feat" the spear has is being able to be summoned out of the blue... which is what the energy daggers have been doing since 1998.

Energy daggers are a part of his gear. So he can only summon them out of the blue when he's carrying the right tech. And the majority of the time it seems he doesn't have the daggers, or chooses not to use them.
If the spear is an innate ability rather than tech, then he's literally got it anytime he needs it. So again, it's different enough that it's not entirely redundant with his other gear.

Show me one scan of the spear being conjured without the Panther habit on?
:)
And the "chooses not the use them" is such a dumb argument beacuse that isn't based on "tchalla not having the tech at the time" it is based entirely on "writer wants to do something else."

That may be true ... nonetheless I still would argue there are advantages to having some options based on an actual ability rather than gear. If you don't see it that way, I guess we can agree to disagree. I just see it as another option in the tool box, something which has a couple unique elements to make it useful.

I'm arguing it hasn't done anything to deserve the platitudes it has gotten in this thread.
At all.
Everything about it is conjecture. Wild conjecture at that. You'd think it has been used to beat Doom or something.
All we know for sure is that it is a sharp blue pointy stick that appears out of nowhere, sometimes, that T'challa can throw.
It is the the "Thrice Blessed Armor" of this generation.
