So a long time ago occasionally Doom gets a clear loss? T'Challa has faced Doom numerous times and loses evertime. I don't think it would hurt to show him atleast stalemate him, taking the advantage in h2h and Doom evening the odds with magic.
If Hudlin feared backlash he probably wouldn't have put Black Panther over Steve in every fight he wrote. Hudson didn't care about that, and he shouldn't.
But Doom certainly is a protected character. He'said one of the few villains with any real cred and marvel does make an effort to not lose that by watering him down. Not an easy task given that Doom like all villains is usually put in a story to lose in the end.
I agree it wouldn't have hurt Doom at all to fight T'CHalla to a stand still especially since Doom easily defeated T'Challa in their first fight and in their next one. HudLin probably should have thrown BP a bit more in that fight, even though it probably was overall his best showing against Doom.
I didn't say Hudlin was afraid of backlash in general , but afraid to show T'Challa actually standing up to Doom to an even standstill? Yea I don't think he wanted to step on toes because Dooms plot armor is too thick to allow T'Challa a win that doesn't involve him down at Dooms feet.

I hope so, what a dumb, dumb, dumb showing lol

I sort of get what the writer was going for. Doom killed Scott's kid, so Scott probably deserved a big win. But it was a bit much and it was kinda dumb.

I think T'Challa was essentially even with Doom until the very very end when Storm had to help him out a bit. Again I doubt Hudson would have been scared if the outcome was more even since it was relatively even anyways.

Yet T'Challa's uncle gets killed by Doom, a coup occurs and thousands die, including the fact the the Dora Milje army gets nearly wiped out and T'Challa's big win is... A stern lecture and a slap on the risk, while T'Challa also destroys his nations most valued resource... But i mean yea Scott needed that win yo.

Not really. Hudlin wrote it so its not like he couldn't have ended the fight on more even terms. I think there was some egg shells Hudlin was tip toeing over.

It'seems simply a case of neither example finding a food middle ground. They probably didn't do enough with Doom War and they probably went to far with Ant-Man. Neither quite found the goldilocks zone.

Just wanted to let you guys know I'm starting up that Black Panther quest. It'll be based in the MCU and will be a very fresh start regarding continuity for the most part.

Looks like they have Black Panther in the group shot in Disney Cruises now.

Simple. S'Yan not get killed in some bullsh** way, The dora's don't fight the Wakandan armor in some bloodbath where nearly all of them are killed. When T'Challa and Doom Square off, Doom has the advantage due to the mystical Vibranium, and is bragging about how T'Challa can't hope to win and he is inferior and the power difference is too great etc etc. T'Challa responds by asking a rhetorical question of if Doom knows what Shadow physics is and what it does, followed by saying it allows him to connect with things on the quantum level, he hits the switch, disables the Vibranium IN DOOMS ARMOR ONLY and also that switch hurts like hell and causes Doom to stagger, T'Challa then says something along the lines of "The Odds are no longer in your favor" or whatever then he beats the piss out of Doom then Shuri gives the speech about him ever coming to Wakanda he will die. and Blamo you have the correct ending to the Story and not some "Look how amazing Doom is and how he outsmarted everyone and despite losing he really didn't lose anything except for his wealth which he will get back and 2 seconds"

Right next to Vision and above Iron Man right?
Is that Scarlet Witch between Vision and Panther, or Thor ?
So these Disney Cruises have SHIELD Deck with all Marvel stuff and cast members? Cool :).

So Disney has Namor again. A variant of Strum Drung (or however you spell that possible). I do enjoy that relationship.

in fairness, Scott had nothing to do but obsess over taking on doctor doom after Cassie was killed. he's not running a country. he was aided by Julius Caeser, Sun Tzu, Dakkor the Magician, the Future Foundation, the Marvel Universe version of Anonymous, and the Inhumans. Doom completely underestimated him and probably didn't give Cassie's murder a second thought. he couldn't have forseen Ant-Man learning that he could enhance his own durability and strength or planning a multi-pronged attack. and, even then, what nobody mentions is that Scott didn't beat Doom. he humiliated the guy. but it was Valeria (physically altered to look like Ravona) who delivered the most devastating blow. she created a powerful illusion that made Doom think that he had murdered the younger Val; while attacking Ant-Man. these were far different circumstances than Doom's brazen attack on Wakanda. you'd better believe that Doom had prep time on his side (plus the Panther God's blessing for some ridiculous reason). T'challa has yet to retaliate. maybe he's just biding his time. :fingers crossed:

yeah, it wasn't the greatest story. it's not very often that the lead gets trounced in his own book; w/o an opportunity to save face.

In hindsight Bast not killing Doom makes even more sense than the explanation given.
Bast was able to see into the future .... she knew Time Runa Out was coming ahead of time. If she also saw that Doom is the ones that stops the Beyonders the it actually is a good reason to leave Doom be.
Not that this was the reason at the time .... but in hindsight it actually kind of fits.
